I admit it, I am the type that needs a pat on the back when I do something good.
How about we start a thread devoting to supporting each other working out? We can chart what we did each day, what we plan on doing... etc. Or even give each other swift kicks in the butt when needed.
I'll start....
2/16
Plan: 30 min on elliptical, ok to stop after 20 if I need to
Actual: 30 min on elliptical PLUS 30 min on bike
2/17
Plan: 30 min on elliptical, might tackle weight machines
I just woke up, and after seeing this thread I am going to do a 20 minute turbo jam session before I clean house and go car shopping. I am going to put LOTS of energy into it because I know the more I put into my weight loss the more effective it will be. If your gonna exercise, why waste time?
WOW! How do you guys work out on the elliptical that long? After 10 minutes, my heart is pounding so hard that I have to catch my breath...
2/17:
Today I did: 25 minutes fast walking (3.8) on the treadmill
10 minutes on the elliptical
5 minutes on the bike
This is the first time I have worked out in 6 days, so I was pretty worn out by the end. I really need to work out more! I am aiming to work out at least 4 times this week
I did my first ever step class today...whew! 45 minutes and I looked like a giant tomato with blonde hair. It was so intense but I really enjoyed it. It definitely pushes me harder than my time on an elliptical or a treadmill does, because I am working so hard to keep up with everyone else. I'm going to go back next week, to build my endurance up (hopefully!)
tonight, instead of sitting around and watching tv... i did some intervals
5 minutes of running at progressively faster speeds
1 minute walk
1 minute each side of shuffles
1 minute walk
(repeat 3 times)
considering i couldn't run for more than 2 minutes 2 months ago, i am very pleased with my progress!! i can actually run for about 15 minutes now nonstop, but i was working on speed tonight. so... keep up the good work everyone!
I finally got a new battery for my pedometer so it'll be interesting to see what that says at the end of the day.
Plan for moving today -- I'm going to walk home from work (just under 2 miles) and will either go jogging this evening or do a 20-minute TurboJam cardio workout.
