Well, I walked to the gym, then did a mile on the treadmill, and experimented with adding more weight to the circuit of machines I do. I am happily surprised that I am getting a lot stronger.
I had to stop though because of back pain (had it before i went into the gym tho). I did get a bit more walking in than usual today. Overall, I am proud I did as much as I did today with my back bothering me. It's a step in the right direction.
Way to go, Liziness! The best you can is the best you can do!
I updated my goal-tracking post to reflect my workout yesterday. I must be slow in the gym, because I was there for an hour and half I think, though I do a workout that was designed to be an hour. It's all the laying there puffing after the stomach crunches, I'm sure.
Way to go Aphil! You're my role model of the week!
I've updated my previous post to show that I've been a total slug, and the min-creep on the scale can testify to that. I've discovered that if I exercise, I lose weight, and if I don't, I don't lose.
Kind of an epiphany, I'd say - and more reason to get some dang exercise every day! If only I could get up when my alarm goes off, instead of sleepwalking over to turn it off and roll back to bed . Having to try and fit exercise in during the evening is difficult with making dinner and trying to do a few chores around the house. Grrr. But today, dinner is already made, and so I can exercise when I get home, yay!
Jan 7th- Walked dog for 40 minutes
Went a couple of rounds with the punching bag
Jan 8th- Walked for 45minutes
Lifted weights a bit
went couple of rounds on punching bag
Friday the 7th:
35 minutes strength training
2 mile walk (in 30 minutes)
Saturday the 8th:
1 mile walk (in 17 minutes)
*I exercise pretty vigorously through the beginning of the week, since I have my regular workouts plus dance things-so I exercise a bit lighter over the weekend to "rest up" for it.
Hey, all - it's a new week, and after last week's whimpering non-sucess, I'm full of motivation to get this on track! The DH has been enlisted to help me wake up in the morning so I can exercise before going to work, since after is a MASSIVE pain in the rear - it messes up my whole evening schedule.
Here's the plan for this week - again the goal is 6 days of exercise!
Mon Jan 10 - WATP 2 miles - in the morning before work! Yay!
Tue Jan 11 - WATP 2 miles - again, in the morning, woo hoo!
Wed Jan 12 - WATP 2 miles - the DH guilted me into it after supper. Good!
Thu Jan 13 - WATP 2 miles "walk strong" in the AM Yowza!
Fri Jan 14 - WATP 3 miles "advanced walk" in the AM - I rock!
Sat Jan 15 - Walked around 12K steps for the day
Sun Jan 16 - Walked 11K steps, a goodly chunk uphill towing a sled.
Aphil, WantToLoss - This weekend the DH and I sort of combined your two exercise methods. We have a giant hill with a packed-down, closed roadway behind our house, and so we took the half-mile uphill hike with our dog. And our sleds. We thought our dog would just run alongside us on the way down (He loves to run - he's got greyhound in him) but it turns out he wanted to run faster than even the sleds would go, so he started mushing us down the hill! Steering with him pulling is a problem, but I'm sure we can figure something out. More fun than I've had in a long time. I can't wait to do it again, I wish that it wasn't dark by the time I get home from work!
Yesterday I was a good girl and ran 2 miles on the treadmill. Also organized some closets and took heavy boxes up the stairs to the attic. Today my back hurts. and now I'm deciding whether to get all of this knitting done I started, or run again. I really need a day off and knit and relax a bit. Sons just went back to college on Sunday and the extra cooking and laundry and holiday stuff has seemed never-ending. I miss them, but BOY does it get quiet arouund here when they go back!
Anyone here have days when they've been so 'at it' that they just need a day to recuperate?
