Talking Yay! I exercised today! October 2004

Just thought I would start a new exercise thread for October

My big exercise this weekend was clearing out my storage unit in my building's basement and hauling assorted chairs and boxes up 3 flights of stairs. My calves are really not happy with me today

Tonight I am walking to my WW meeting and then home so that will be about 1 hour of walking for the day.

Carrying enough furniture and boxes will make even the strongest calves sore!

I did my Monday-morning-routine of going to the gym – lifting weights for 30 minutes and then cardio on the treadmill for 20 minutes.

Yesterday I made it through half of the swim class. And that was an accomplishment. That woman works everyone's abs like you wouldn't believe. I'm so not ready for ab work yet. Ugh!

I did upper body at the gym today: lifted weights for 30 minutes, and then cardio on the treadmill for 20 minutes. Changing the speed and alternating between 5, 6 and 7 miles/hour makes the running much more interesting for me. My new record (as of today) is 7.5 miles/hour!

Good work ellis and mauvais!
I did back and abs at the gym today (30 minutes lifting weights), and then ran 1 mile on the treadmill.

Thanks mette!

Phew, this new dance class I am taking is a killer workout. It is almost 90 minutes of non-stop dance and I actually got a stitch in my side last night as well as getting out of breath a couple of times. I'm finding it to be a great aerobic workout and toning workout at the same time. I wish the class was more than once per week.

After class I walked home which was another 30 minutes of exercise.

Well, when I signed up for my new gym they give you a free session with a personal trainer to get you started. What I interpreted that to mean is ... you sit in a room and they try to sell you crap.
Well... we did that for about 30 minutes and then she took me into the weight room and we actually worked out. I was so not prepared. *LOL* I feel like I died and my muscles are decomposing. Blah.
Any suggestions on making my poor body feel a little bit better? I've been taking advil and it ain't doin' the trick
Actually, is there anything that any of you do beforehand to help limit the amount of pain you wind up with the next day? I am new to exercising. *LOL* Perhaps that's the problem, eh?

Drink lots of water, Lizzi. And run a bath and throw in lots of salt.

Hope you recovered lizzi!

Most of my exercise this weekend was packing, cleaning and moving boxes and furniture around but I did lose 1lb over the weekend - even though I ate pumpkin pie and trifle

I am finally feeling better. Took forever. Now I get to go back and do it again! UGH! I am going to take it easy though. Just a workout on the treadmill and maybe a few machines. I don't want to over do it agian. I am afraid I will over do it and then never go back and that would not be good and my hubby will be very much pissed. *LOL* Gym is not cheap!

How do you guys stay motivated during TOM? I have a hard time wanting to go in then. I just would rather stay home and lay around and then do more the next week.

Cheez, Lizzi, take it easy, girl! We're not close enough to bring you liquor and a massage.
Motivated during TOM?! I'm sorry, but those two don't even belong in the same sentence.

I just did 20 minutes on the rowing machine.
