Things I need to address... exercise, water intake, balanced diet. I need to draft a battle strategy... I also managed to unpack the scale from the box piles. I am ready for weigh-in tomorrow!
I am up and stoked about the beginning of this challenge.
A teeny-tiny bit of info, My high weight was 278 lbs back in 2001. It's been an up and down fight ever since the day I realized I was no longer a hot, hip chick. ( I like to think I have corrected that at this point LOL lemme keep those delusions TIA lol) I've Spawned successfully once and had 2 misses last year which ALMOST set me on a course to Hugeness again. But I caught it before I saw 200's (190 iis NOT 200, right). Now this is the first challenge I have done when I was in the "I am doing something about it!" mindframe and been this close to goal. Usually I get this close, get lazy, comfortable with my success and let the weight creep back on. So, here's to losin' that last 20-30 lbs. I don't have a set number for goal just looking for the "feel" of it. I haven't been that weight in 15 years.
There, look, I went and got all gabby...
Official weigh-in today is 168.
WOE- Atkins, it's always worked when I let it.
Exercise- Spark has a 7-day Bootcamp video series I going to start. I am starting weight training today.
Water- 64-80 oz a day.
Rock-on, Ladies! I look forward to getting to know you better during the challenge.
Man...With my water weight, plus some gain, PLUS friggin' TOM, I'm at 227. Well, it's a start to the new year. And I have a whole 10 months+ to get my butt into gear and prepare myself for Thanksgiving & Christmas this year.
My plan is to:
- Drink more water.
- Exercise at least 5 times a week.
- Prepare my meals/snacks in advance.
- Get enough fruits and vegetables.
- Learn to enjoy the "bad things" occasionally but within my control (especially with holiday dinners and treats).
- Take control of my relationship with food.
So, my plan is to lose about 25-30lbs and put me in ONEderland!
Well, yesterday wasn't a jumpstart for me, but it WAS a start!
My water was like 8 oz unless you count the unsweetened tea, then maybe 32oz, soooo not 64-80. Food was better, for sure.My only naughty-naughty was a small brownie in the afternoon with coffee.
B: eggs and sausage, coffee w/ milk
L: Ham, collard greens, yellow squash
D: salmon cake, 1 tbsp regular ketchup (because I am out of the low-carb kind until today), Frank's Redhot
Exercise- I did the day one bootcamp video, 10 minutes. omg I'm outta shape.
I have a cleaning job today, so that will help cover my exercise. I also have lunch out for my SIL birthday. I shouldn't have any problem finding on-plan food.
merc girl x - I like the fact you write what you ate. Perhaps I should do that starting today, because yesterday, all I had was pizza and diet soda. Today, I'm thinking about eating lentil soup for dinner. We'll see how that goes. I'm still debating on what to have for breakfast. It's the end of the week, so there is not much food to chose from.
Yesterday was a good start. I didn't drink as much water like I wanted but I stayed OP. The only thing off plan was a small green tea latte, but I couldn't resist. We were at a concert and during the change over, a few friends and I headed to the coffee shop. But...it was one of the best green tea lattes!
I must say my fiance is keeping me in check. When we came home last night, I REALLY wanted to go to South Street diner. I was 'hungry'. But he deterred me from wanting to go and I said "You're right. Let's go to the gym tomorrow". I had a small piece of dark chocolate and I was content. He is doing really well too. So I'm happy.
Is it too late to join this?? I weighed in on the 1st @ 219 & I figure I'll do better at staying motivated if I do this in chunks, anyway. I'd like to lose 20 lbs for each mini-goal. Can I play too??
Nita
Thanks, Robot. I love it when people post their menus, too... just incase it needs to be my menu the next day LOL Makes for good ideas sometimes.
I did well today, though. Eating much cleaner and had atleast 40oz of water. Go, Melinda, Go! I cleaned, as I mentioned earlier, loads up and down stairs and packing and toting stuff. I know the Daily Plate would let me count it as exersize lol so I am, too. I'd rather poke my eye out than do even 10 minutes of cardio right now. lol
B: coffee w/ 1/2 cup milk (It's a big mug), 1/4 flax and egg muffin, 2 smokie linkies- these were grody when not wrapped in cresent rolls and I threw the rest away.
L: blackened chicken and bleu cheese salad This was great.
S:more salad
D: Broiled pork chops, green beans w/ butter, 1/4 cup black eyed peas, bbq sauce
I tell you what though, I totally have those carbie cravings right now.
omg I have never seen such a selection of smilies on a BB. bwahahahaha
I am really stoked for this challenge, though!! Go Chicks! Go!!
