Hi Karen! Ouch on your roof! It just seems there's never a good time for those projects. It sounds like a nice day you have planned. Hey, I could do some baking here and send it to you. I love the baking part but hate having it around. Enjoy your day.

Good morning all,

Got a meeting in 7 minutes so this will be a flyby. Sugar has slowly creeped into my diet again, so I think I am going to do a Phase 1 starting on Monday to kick it again atleast for a few days. Other than that my eating has been great and op but it only takes a piece here and there and then it's mainstream in my eating.

Karen- good luck with your planning for graduation as well. Sorry to hear about your roof. I am always dreading all of these storms we get because we also have a huge deductible to deal with. I think I would rather the whole house went then just minor damage

Okay went on to long, have a great day everyone.

Good Morning,

I have been a member of 3fc for a while, but recently started SB. I am enjoying it, and it seems to be working. I have a question though. Last night I made the taco dish that was under the phase 1 recipies on this forum. It was AWESOME! However, I have my friend over who is also doing SB (though she is taking this week off...silly) and she said, "Um, not to burst your bubble but refried beans are not on phase 1". I got a can that was just beans and seasoning. No fat or sugar etc. Was she right? Also, this morning when I got on the scale it showed I had gained a pound and I know to expect fluctuations but could it be due to the taco dish? I hope everyone has a great day, and thanks for the support!

refried beans are perfectly ok on phase 1 and are a favroite of a lot of our members. there is usually quite a bit of sodium in them, though, so don't be surprised if you fluctuate a bit after eating canned ones.

they are quite easy to make at home - just boil dried pinto beans (black beans are good too) or use a can of pinto beans (rinse thoroughly to wash off the excess sodium), season with cumin, chili powder, garlic powder and onion powder and then puree (either with a blender or immersion blender).

I've never hopped in on these before... but hello everyone!

I freakin' love refried beans. I'll eat them for breakfast sometimes if im in a hurry.... with a fried egg, of course. so it's "breakfast-y".

Hi BeTrueToYou and oddree!

I make Cyndi's crockpot refried beans every week and eat them for breakfast every day. Great combination of protein, carbs, and fiber. I used to make them with pinto beans but finally got tired of those and have been using black beans lately.

Today I made the taco bake for lunch and for that used canned refried beans, the fat free version.

Afternoon, ladies. Not a bad Friday night at work so far...hopefully it will stay that way. We shall see. Awww, thanks for all the "love the new pic" comments. I don't know about you ladies, but it's such a different feeling these days not DREADING having to look at pictures that were taken of you. I don't know how to describe it...it's weird.

Lexxiss - DanceFit (pretty much the same as Zumba) can definitely be confusing the first few times. But once you get the moves down and get a little more comfortable, it's great. I definitely leave there feeling like I've gotten a good workout. Wow, it sounds like you have A LOT of work ahead of you. Good luck!!! And I totally remember the canning project, LOL

Cyndi - Congratulations on getting your bill passed...that's awesome news!!! Enjoy your week in Maine...I would love to visit there in the fall sometime. Oh no...hope the wifey can get her double vision problems solved.

Twynn - Too funny about your hubby being disturbed that you run faster...I love it!!! Good luck getting you greens planted!!!

ILRPinkGirl - I had never heard of it until this year, but I am SUPER excited!!! I'm actually doing it w/ my bestfriend, her wife, my cousin, a friend of mine that's a detective, and her girlfriend (although the girlfriend is just along as a cheerleader). We're doing the 6:30 PM wave on Saturday...thank God it's this time off year and won't be dark yet!!! I'm giggling at your apple...too cute. Funny how little things like that can feel like such a treat, ain't it??? I still get shocked at myself everytime I walk down the ice cream aisle at the grocery store and don't just dive in to the freezer, LOL Good luck w/ your 5K!!!

Heidi - Bwahahahaahaha, I love the t-shirt idea for Tammy!!! I don't blame you at all for changing your maintenance weight. I'm w/ you...I'd much rather be 5 - 10 pounds heavier and less stressed.

Mmckellen - Your "beautiful" comment seriously made me "awww" out loud. Thank you. I've been MIA a lot lately...where are you going next Saturday??? I hope it's a pleasure trip and not a business one!!!

Ruth - I can't remember the last time I went camping, but I'm thinking I was in elementary school, LOL We'll be staying in a state park at Black Rock Mountain. I'm so excited!!! I invited my mom to come w/ me but she was not keen on the Warrior Dash since it includes swimming through mud, jumping over flames, and climbing cargo nets, LOL

WaistingTime - Sounds like you've got a lot of work to do. Eek!!!

BeTrueToYou - You can feel free to go back and tell your friend that she is wrong. Refried beans are most certainly fine on Phase I. Zeffryn is right about the sodium...don't be surprised to see a little bit of fluctuation w/ the beans due to the amount of sodium they have.

zeffryn - Thanks for the recipe...I have never thought to do it at home myself. Sounds silly now that I think about it...I mean, why pay for canned crap when I could make it at home and know EXACTLY what's in it. It's the same rationalization I use for not getting Starbucks anymore, LOL

oddreee - Welcome to the daily thread!!!

Back to the grind for me. Goodnight, ladies.
