Hi, there! I am back as of today and logged on and was happy to see you still working it. Sounds like you've had some great changes in your life in the past few months.
I knew I had put on a few on the last few months - lots of occasions and too many caloires. I have kept up with the gym pretty well - usually 4-5X/week, but need to get in more cardio. So I wrote out my new plan last night - here it is:
1) NO liquid calories except for soy milk and limited wine on weekends(I measure and allow myself 4-5 4oz glasses of wine over 3 days)
2) NO sugar(the toughest - have been eating way too much)
3) Count calories. Aim for 1200/day
4) Measure everything - no more estimating
5) No processed food
6) Minimum 30 minutes cardio 5X/week
7) Some physical activity @ work every day - stairs, short walk, etc. Aim for 10 minutes/day
8) Strength training 2-3X/week. I usually take an hour body sculpting class @ the gym, but if schedule does not permit, I have a DVD and hand weights I can use at home
9) No calories after 7PM - the food I eat at night is never for nutrition, just boredom or habit
10) Write down every bite. Started up my food/exercise journal again today
11) get back on 3FC -here I am!
12) Vitamins and Omega supplements every day
13) Re-start Fat Smash detox 8/26 after weekend shopping
Feels very good to be in control again! Looks forward to seeing you online. Fat Smash was very successful for me, and I would really like to be @ goal in time for the holidays. The last 7 lbs. will be very tough - I think I broke 130 for a day and then bounced right back, but I know I can do it!
Made it through my first day! 1,070 calories, all healthy. Snuck in 17 minutes of stair-climbing and walking at work, then did an hour of body sculpt. Back to drinking plain tea - will look for some more nice flavors of herbal this weekend. SFSG today. Have my shopping list ready for the weekend - will start FS Detox Sunday or Monday. Will weigh in the morning I start, then will ask DH to hide the scale for the first 9 days.
Natamars!!!! Hey, glad to see you! Yes, I am back! I haven't been logging as much because I am waiting for my P90 program to be delivered to my house. You know I am a gym rat but I needed a change in pace.. so I broke down and ordered the program. I am usually not with the whole "workout video" type training but I have read some really great reviews..
So I am pumped to do something NEW and FRESH! That always puts me on a natural high... So I know I will be plugging in my every move and my meals as soon as that comes in. They say it should be here in a week but I hope it comes sooner. I hope it gets here this week. But no matter what, I want to be starting that program by September 1... Ready to see great changes (with fat smash) in the 90 days.
Your list looks great! Especially like the no eating after 7. I swear that when I monitor my calories and not eat late at night -- my weight drops the best.
So we shall see, but I am most certainly ready to get things going. I am trying to go ahead and transition into eating every 3 hours again as well. Eating fat smashable foods is great, but I know that I need to do the every 3 hour thing too.
As far as the wine is concerned.. I love white zinfadel... some chardonnays I can handle.. So I want to be able to keep that in as well. I have been telling my new "friend" that its harder when he is around to diet perfectly and he says that we have to change that then because he wants me to be happy.
I know that when we go out, I can always order some damn lettuce and chicken breast or fish.. but ............ sigh... yea... well I will figure out something.. I dont want to stop us from going to these nice little spots that we go to either. He picks the cutest little upscale places for us to dine. I know that eating out isn't everything... we do other things... but still... at some point...you go to get something to eat!
When I was staying in and had no life.... It was so much easier to eat my cup of beans, a raggedy ole' vegetable and call it a day...
I am not saying that I want THAT life back, but believe me, its alot easier when you are not going out/socializing.
So what am I to do? Work on balance. That's what I plan to do. Luckily wine is on the extreme plan, as well as coffee, and other things.. so its not like doing Original Fat Smash's detox where you only get very limited things. We'll see.. I will work it all out, no matter what...
I know I am all over the place right now.. but I am trying to quickly get all these thoughts out before I start working...
OH! Calories.. 1200 sounds good. I know that we shouldn't go superlow, but I swear... I was taking a look at my fitday from last year when I was fat smashing and I see that a lot of times I was having around 1000 calories.... and that's when I felt good and was the smallest.. You can get alot of food for 1000 calories when your only eating fruits, veggies, egg whites, and limited beans and brown rice.
Ok. I am going to end now... But like I said -- as soon as the P90 program gets here, I will be updating a lot more. It will be NEW and I will want to document everything! I am so excited.
On day 2 of detox. Put the scale away and pledge not to weigh in until detox is done(9/1). Woudl be so thrilled with a 3 lb loss as I have not been able to get below 130. Started at 132.6. So far going well - made rice and oatmeal and a big salad, and have all kinds of beans rinsed and in the fridge. How are you doing?
3xmommy, I never followed all the cycles to be honest. I kind of stayed with detox - maybe I added in some chicken or turkey and a little cheese. This time I started back with detox - I did keep off what I lost except for about 2 lbs. I'll see where I am at the end of that and then decide what to do. What phase are you on? How much did you lose during detox?
My P90 program should be arriving soon, so I will be back documenting everything by the weeks end. I am so excited to start. I know that the program with fat smashable style eating is going to give me great results!
For the Original Fat Smash, I pretty much stick to detox as well. When I do add in something, its a lean meat, but that's about it. I'm not a big meat eater, so the detox always felt pretty comfortable. I usually start off with detox and the move to the Extreme plan for a more structure and for meal portion control.
Right now, I have been resting until I start P90 to just give myself a break. I've been such a gym rat for the last X - years that I am welcoming the change.
So for now, I am pretty much just doing the Original Fat Smash since its a looser plan than Extreme.
I will check the nutritional recommendations for for P90x and then just customize the plan to make everything work for me.
Can't wait to start.

Your personal trainer, Tony Horton, will keep you engaged every step of the way, and you won't believe your results!
You've probably seen the informercials on the program. I have heard of a lot of people getting great results. If you are already pretty fit (workout) then its great to shake things up, tone up, lean out.. etc. I have also been watching some great transformation videos on youtube. The results are awesome. Since I like a combination of weights/cardio -- this will be just what I need. I will still do my workout early in the morning, I just wont have to drive to the gym. There are so many different workouts and its all designed that you are working certain body parts on different days.. Just as I would in the gym.. but right in the comfort of my home.
I have never really been the workout video type of girl -- but right now - I dont know - I just need a change. Plus, I want that natural high that I experience when I start a new program! I'm just tired of the tread climber or the treadmill. Just ready for something different.
So hopefully by the time I get it tomorrow and review it.. I can start by the end of the week and get this party started!

Preparing lima beans and green beans right now. Want to be ready when I get the dvds. I will probably freeze half of the beans so they dont go to waste. Hmmm.. lets see.. all i need now is the rice. I have some, but lately I have been taking the lazy route and getting the frozen bag of brown rice. I guess MAYBE later I can cook some rice. Bleh!
I have rested for about 4 days now. No gym. Feeling very fluffy. I am thinking of going to the gym in the morning, but I really wanted to rest until my first day of P90. I think the fluffy, lazy feeling is starting to get to me, so I will probably just go ahead and go to the gym in the morning. Well, at least I allowed myself a few rest days. Since my program comes tomorrow night, I need to get to the store and pick up my 10 and 20 pound set of weights. I will need that for the program.
I SO did not want to have to return to the gym at all! That how bad I've been feeling about it lately. Boring!
Hmmm.. Just thinking through.. If I dont go in the morning, I guess I can always start the program tomorrow night but the problem with that is - I like to view the videos before starting them so its easier to keep up during your first time around.
Well guess I will finish house cleaning and preparing my foods. It makes so so so much difference when you are prepared!
I usually go through all three phases and start over, right now I'm on phase 2 but I cheated yesterday and had cheez-its, figured I'm in a plateau anyway my issue might be hormones, hope to get that in check soon, I want to hit the 160s so bad I can taste it
glad I found you guys, looking forward to reaching goal with you guys
Hope this post doesn't get eaten - this board keeps freezing up for me! Anyone else have the same problem?
Day 6 of detox. I actually went looking to see if I could find where DH hid the scale, but no go. I'm not sure I've lost anything yet, although I've been very good w/ plan. Did Zumba! last night and ended up only eating 820 calories because I went to the gym staright from work and it was too late to eat when I got home. Will definitely eat more today, plus I have to deal w/ picking up pizza for DH and my son tonight. Torture! I will let myself have a glass or two of wine, and may roast some chickpeas to eat while we watch a movie.
Think I will get some veggie burgers and sweet potatoes to make fries this weekend. And will have a spoon of cheese on my refried beans.
Hope evryone has a great weekend. Just 3 more days of detox, and hoping for a good weigh-in on Tuesday!
Im trying to decide what to follow. What would be best for me. I have about 100 pounds to lose. I dont care for onions, tomatoes, mushrooms. Seems that everything I have came across has recipes that are things I havent ever heard before. Ive been thinking about Slim4life and the HCG drops diet (my boss is on it) but the thought of only consuming 500 calories is what keeps me from jumping on it. So what exactly is fat smashing? Thanks!
