Aaaah I think I've discovered a possible overeating trigger! I bought flax seed to make flax seed hair gel with (supposedly it's very moisturizing and it's a lot cheaper to buy flax seed than regular hair gels) but then I tried eating a pinch worth to see what it tasted like...
aaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!! It was good! I wanted to take more. I took a little more. I'd eaten about a tablespoon worth. At 45 calories a tablespoon, it's very high calorie!!! But it's the kind of food I could eat right out of the bag, I can sense it.
I am officially outlawing any straight eating of flax seed right now. I tried putting 1.5 t in my yogurt and I was fine; only eating it plain is causing me problems. So.. hair gel and yogurt topping it is, I guess!
Anyone else have this problem with flax seed? lol I feel like such a weirdo now... but it tasted so good!

Ward, yes, we should have a new thread for the new year! I will start one tomorrow if nobody else gets around to it first.

Megwini, I am laughing about the flax seed. Did you buy the whole kind or the ground up kind? Supposedly you absorb nutrients from the ground kind better. I use the ground up stuff in muffins and things like that sometimes. It does have a high fat content, but it is the "good" kind of fat. Flax is basically like healthy nuts. Personally I don't like eating plain nuts or seeds (candied nuts is a different story ) so I have never been particularly attached to flaxseed.

megwini, how funny, I never tried it straight. Now I'm curious, but thinking maybe I should let well enough alone!

Well they are actually whole, because I didn't buy them for food purposes, I bought them to make hair gel, and you let the seeds boil with water to get the gel and then strain the seeds out.. can you imagine how hard it'd be to strain if the seeds were ground!!!!
Plus, if they were ground, I don't think I'd have tried eating them from the bag; that's just.... odd.
Anyway, plain (and roasted apparently; that's all Trader Joe's had) they kind of taste like sunflower seeds, and have a crunch to them. Very satisfying... but very high-calorie.

I'm withdrawing from this thread (well, I'll stick around for a few days and read replies from y'all but then after that I'm withdrawin'! ). I had a crazy revelation today and realized that I am truly ready for maintenance. I look perfect at this weight and I'm healthy and I am now ready to invest my energies into maintaining that weight, eating healthy, and exercising right. I am going to get more active here in the maintainer's forum and keep posting in the 20-somethings. I'll be posting my goal story in the next few days. Thank you all for always being there and rooting me on. Maybe I will eventually lose 7 more pounds and end up at my original goal of 145, or maybe I won't. The difference is that it's no longer a goal of mine. I'm healthy and I'm happy, and that's what matters most. I never imagined I would get this far. I'm so proud of myself for accomplishing what I had previously only dreamed of.
I'll elaborate on what brought about this attitude change in a post in the maintainer's forum soon, perhaps tomorrow (well today, actually! But it's past 4am and I should sleep soon!). Either way, I'm not going anywhere!
(Sorry for any of you that had to read this twice, as I posted it in all threads I was active in involving current weight loss.)
