Hi all!
Boy, what a couple of days I've had!
I got a call from a guy that I do some work for and he had a job for me. I didn't realize what a Pain in the Butt it was going to be until I got into doing it. But you all know me, I'll do
just about anything for money!
Anyway, what he needed me to do was to find 30 packages of 4 different kind of hot dogs (they were specific kinds). YES, that means 120 packages of hot dogs!
All 30 packages within the kind had to have the
same expiration date. AND the expiration dates had to be after July 28th.
Well, at first glance I thought NO PROBLEM. Can you all say a collective WRONG??? First, two of the kinds only come 12 to a case, so a store would have to have 3 cases in the stockroom in order to have enough product for me. THEN, for two of the kinds I couldn't find enough product, but the product I did find was July 7 and July 14th. Honey and I spent our anniversary running all over creation from 1:00 to 6:30 searching for these dang hot dogs.
Then, the rest of the story: The hot dogs, once I get them, have to be sent Next Day Air to Cincinnati, OH. I had to go out and buy coolers, but of course I have no idea how many hot dog packages will fit in a cooler. I also had to buy cold packs to keep them cold on their trek to Ohio. I don't know if UPS or Fed Ex will allow me to just send hard side coolers sealed with tape or if I'll need to box them. AND I can't find that out until tomorrow morning, so I bought 4 hard side coolers and 6 styrofoam coolers.
That was all done yesterday, then today I went out for another 4 hours to try and find the other two kinds of hot dogs I didn't get to buy yesterday. Couldn't find them, so now the job is 1/2 done. Can you say FRUSTRATED???
Anyway, that's my sob story for today. Then there was our anniversary evening out.
I bought two really pretty long skirts the other day at Fashion Bug. One is black with gold swirls, looks dressy. And then one is black with purple flowers. Also very pretty. They are a flirty sheer fabric over a black liner. Very nice. Both fit, which is a plus!!!
Anyway, I wore the purple flowered one with a black tank top and a black crocheted jacket that I found at the Avenue.
We went to dinner at a new place in town called The Aspen. It was actually very casual, so I was a bit overdressed, but that's ok. It's all knotty pine inside, like a hunting lodge with high beamed ceiling and fireplaces. Very nice. We splurged on dinner. I ordered a Whiskey Sour. Haven't drank in a very long time so you know that one went straight to my head. Then honey ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. YUM!
Honey ordered Cedar Plank Salmon and I had Asian Tuna Steak. He really liked his, mine was a big dry. I left part of it and didn't even touch my baked potatoe, but I really enjoyed the crab cakes.
Then we went to the show. Yes, you heard me. As if we don't spend enough time at the theatre as it is, we went to see
Raising Helen with Kate Hudson. It was excellent! Funny, touching, sad.....WONDERFUL! We had a really nice evening. And to be honest, the day wasn't so bad either because we were together. (ok, altogether now, a big sigh....aaaaahhhhhhh)
2cute: I am Sooooo Happy For YOU!!!
You deserve to feel the way you do. You've had a very rough year. I'm so glad your life is finally calming down and that LIFE IS GOOD!!!
Lucky: Hope you got that chainsaw working ok and there weren't any trips to ER. Is this the one on a pole? I forgot what you called it, just think I know you didn't get a chance to try it out before. Hope your aches and pains are disipating instead of getting worse.
Shelly: OMG, you had quite a week with the scouts. Good for you getting "down and dirty" with them. You're so right that that is the MOST fun. I was the activities person for my son's cub scout troop for 3 years. It was great fun.
Katrina: It's
28 years! Wooo *wiping brow* seems like forever and then just the other day!
BTW, I married when I was 2!!!
Andria: I'm glad you feel at ease to share here. [[[HUGS]]] Also happy that you found a solution for your degree at the community college so that you don't have as many hoops to jump through. Seems like they would make it EASIER rather than HARDER for people to finish their education.
Barbg: When is your next trip to the massage/therapist/accupuncturist? That just sounds so relaxing and invigorating.
Michelle: Good to see you popping in. Are you on a break from school? Oh, forgot to ask, didn't you just go to NC? Did you find a place? Is DF able to transfer his job?
Steph: Hey, lady. Glad to see you back. Ain't it the truth that when we're not doing well, we tend to stay away when what we really should be doing is coming and getting more support. We're all guilty of it. I, myself, am just trying once again to get my act together. [[[hugs]]] We'll get it all together....one of these days.
Terri: Your night on the lake sounds just delightful. I bet the fireworks reflecting off the lake were just gorgeous! It's too bad you didn't know about the decorating contest. I bet you and DH would have done it up BIG! Congrats on 3rd place in the race.
Mary: I can't wait to meet you either. When you get some kind of idea what you itinerary is, let me know so we can figure out a convenient place to meet. I know you're going to be out near Grand Rapids, right? If it is, maybe we can meet somewhere between here and there. I'm about 4 hours from Grand Rapids. Maybe I can even high-jack Susie from work and we can both come that way. We really do LOVE to be in a car together for hours and hours!
BarbPA: Injections in my belly or anywhere else for that matter would NOT thrill me at all. I'm deathly afraid of my little Insulin Resistance thing turning into insulin dependent diabetes for that very reason.
Tina: I'm not taking the bait, sorry.
Well, girls, I think I'm pretty much finished. The guys are out finishing up the rest of the Nascar Race and I'm sure they'll be chomping on the bit for dinner when it's over.
Two things before I go:
I'll be happy to "sticky" a weigh in thread if that's what everyone wants. The thread belongs to all of you, not me. But can we banter the issue around for a bit though, if that's ok. Just keep the BIG picture in mind. We already have 8 "stickied" threads.
Two are now for the Dr. Phil Book Study. There already is a Challenge thread, but it hasn't been posted to since June 3rd. We already have topics listed in the Welcome message and those have fallen by the wayside. We have a Recipe Thread to keep all of those together, rather than on Sunday posts. Can we just weigh in on Weigh In Wednesday? Maybe as an alternative we can start posts on Wednesday with our weigh in results in a color (bold, in a different font, etc.) to make them stand out. I don't have a problem doing another "sticky", I'm just asking you guys to talk about the issue some. I already have to send a huge long welcome PM to newbies so they have a clue as to where to find us to actually talk with us. Are there some stickied threads we don't need anymore? Does anyone look at the Birthday thread? There hasn't been an article posted since April. Can we ditch that one? Ideas please.
Second: It was mentioned several times about this site not being safe. That is absolutely right. This site does not require an application. However, your e-mail address is NOT available to anyone (other than Moderators and Administrators) without you giving it to them or you posting it.
PLEASE DO NOT post your e-mail address in this forum. If you want someone on the forum to have your e-mail address, PM it to them. If you're not sure, go to hotmail or yahoo and get yourself a free e-mail address and when you sign up for it, for goodness sakes DON'T put your real name and address in the application. Make it an untraceable e-mail address that you can use on websites. Don't give out a "good" e-mail address until you know who you're dealing with. You have no idea who is reading here or what their motives are. The Moderators and Administrators try very hard to keep an eye out for posters who are not who they say they are and are not here for the right purposes. It is up to us to keep our personal information safe. You need to PROTECT YOURSELF by knowing who you're giving your e-mail address out to and posting it for everyone to see IS NOT the way to keep it safe.
Ok, I'm outta here. I know this has been long and very opinionated. If I have offended anyone, I am deeply sorry. I care about each and every one of you. Love
to all.
