Hello Ladies!
I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday! All is okey-dokey here! Dh and I stayed up way to late last night playing an on-line game with some friends. I had to set the alarm for 7am to take my morning injection. That's fun - mixing 4 vials of meds and injecting them into your belly while 1/2 asleep. Then I proceeded to crawl back in bed. When we finally got up I decided to watch a movie, which I ended up sleeping through. I really didn't want to be so lazy today, so I finally mustered the energy to go outside and clean out the flower pots, flower beds, spray weeds and then clean up the basement a bit. Just showered and now putzing around here a bit. We are going out to dinner and just taking it easy tonight.

2Cute - I am SO HAPPY for you. I can feel your good mood and energy through your post!

I hope you don't mind if I skip the rest of the personals for now. I have a big headache kicking in and think I need to get off the computer for now!

Love to All!
Barb

I'm back.
I got DH off to MIchigan. I miss him already.
I bought collards and cooked them for son and I for dinner tomorrow. I also cooked string beans.
THis is like old home week with Tina and steph back.
I went to KFC and got me some chicken for dinner. (Ok I know i didn't need it but I sure did enjoy it)
DH and I are going to Mich in August for his class reunion. They are having a hawaiian luau. I bought me two hawaii print shirts yesterday and a kaki pair of capris. I got all 3 pieces for $39.00.

Well I better go and get something done or at least pretend to

Hi all! Boy, what a couple of days I've had!

I got a call from a guy that I do some work for and he had a job for me. I didn't realize what a Pain in the Butt it was going to be until I got into doing it. But you all know me, I'll do just about anything for money! Anyway, what he needed me to do was to find 30 packages of 4 different kind of hot dogs (they were specific kinds). YES, that means 120 packages of hot dogs! All 30 packages within the kind had to have the same expiration date. AND the expiration dates had to be after July 28th.

Well, at first glance I thought NO PROBLEM. Can you all say a collective WRONG??? First, two of the kinds only come 12 to a case, so a store would have to have 3 cases in the stockroom in order to have enough product for me. THEN, for two of the kinds I couldn't find enough product, but the product I did find was July 7 and July 14th. Honey and I spent our anniversary running all over creation from 1:00 to 6:30 searching for these dang hot dogs.

Then, the rest of the story: The hot dogs, once I get them, have to be sent Next Day Air to Cincinnati, OH. I had to go out and buy coolers, but of course I have no idea how many hot dog packages will fit in a cooler. I also had to buy cold packs to keep them cold on their trek to Ohio. I don't know if UPS or Fed Ex will allow me to just send hard side coolers sealed with tape or if I'll need to box them. AND I can't find that out until tomorrow morning, so I bought 4 hard side coolers and 6 styrofoam coolers.

That was all done yesterday, then today I went out for another 4 hours to try and find the other two kinds of hot dogs I didn't get to buy yesterday. Couldn't find them, so now the job is 1/2 done. Can you say FRUSTRATED???

Anyway, that's my sob story for today. Then there was our anniversary evening out. I bought two really pretty long skirts the other day at Fashion Bug. One is black with gold swirls, looks dressy. And then one is black with purple flowers. Also very pretty. They are a flirty sheer fabric over a black liner. Very nice. Both fit, which is a plus!!! Anyway, I wore the purple flowered one with a black tank top and a black crocheted jacket that I found at the Avenue.

We went to dinner at a new place in town called The Aspen. It was actually very casual, so I was a bit overdressed, but that's ok. It's all knotty pine inside, like a hunting lodge with high beamed ceiling and fireplaces. Very nice. We splurged on dinner. I ordered a Whiskey Sour. Haven't drank in a very long time so you know that one went straight to my head. Then honey ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. YUM! Honey ordered Cedar Plank Salmon and I had Asian Tuna Steak. He really liked his, mine was a big dry. I left part of it and didn't even touch my baked potatoe, but I really enjoyed the crab cakes.

Then we went to the show. Yes, you heard me. As if we don't spend enough time at the theatre as it is, we went to see Raising Helen with Kate Hudson. It was excellent! Funny, touching, sad.....WONDERFUL! We had a really nice evening. And to be honest, the day wasn't so bad either because we were together. (ok, altogether now, a big sigh....aaaaahhhhhhh)

2cute: I am Sooooo Happy For YOU!!! You deserve to feel the way you do. You've had a very rough year. I'm so glad your life is finally calming down and that LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Lucky: Hope you got that chainsaw working ok and there weren't any trips to ER. Is this the one on a pole? I forgot what you called it, just think I know you didn't get a chance to try it out before. Hope your aches and pains are disipating instead of getting worse.

Shelly: OMG, you had quite a week with the scouts. Good for you getting "down and dirty" with them. You're so right that that is the MOST fun. I was the activities person for my son's cub scout troop for 3 years. It was great fun.

Katrina: It's 28 years! Wooo *wiping brow* seems like forever and then just the other day! BTW, I married when I was 2!!!

Andria: I'm glad you feel at ease to share here. [[[HUGS]]] Also happy that you found a solution for your degree at the community college so that you don't have as many hoops to jump through. Seems like they would make it EASIER rather than HARDER for people to finish their education.

Barbg: When is your next trip to the massage/therapist/accupuncturist? That just sounds so relaxing and invigorating.

Michelle: Good to see you popping in. Are you on a break from school? Oh, forgot to ask, didn't you just go to NC? Did you find a place? Is DF able to transfer his job?

Steph: Hey, lady. Glad to see you back. Ain't it the truth that when we're not doing well, we tend to stay away when what we really should be doing is coming and getting more support. We're all guilty of it. I, myself, am just trying once again to get my act together. [[[hugs]]] We'll get it all together....one of these days.

Terri: Your night on the lake sounds just delightful. I bet the fireworks reflecting off the lake were just gorgeous! It's too bad you didn't know about the decorating contest. I bet you and DH would have done it up BIG! Congrats on 3rd place in the race.

Mary: I can't wait to meet you either. When you get some kind of idea what you itinerary is, let me know so we can figure out a convenient place to meet. I know you're going to be out near Grand Rapids, right? If it is, maybe we can meet somewhere between here and there. I'm about 4 hours from Grand Rapids. Maybe I can even high-jack Susie from work and we can both come that way. We really do LOVE to be in a car together for hours and hours!

BarbPA: Injections in my belly or anywhere else for that matter would NOT thrill me at all. I'm deathly afraid of my little Insulin Resistance thing turning into insulin dependent diabetes for that very reason.

Tina: I'm not taking the bait, sorry.

Well, girls, I think I'm pretty much finished. The guys are out finishing up the rest of the Nascar Race and I'm sure they'll be chomping on the bit for dinner when it's over.

Two things before I go:
I'll be happy to "sticky" a weigh in thread if that's what everyone wants. The thread belongs to all of you, not me. But can we banter the issue around for a bit though, if that's ok. Just keep the BIG picture in mind. We already have 8 "stickied" threads. Two are now for the Dr. Phil Book Study. There already is a Challenge thread, but it hasn't been posted to since June 3rd. We already have topics listed in the Welcome message and those have fallen by the wayside. We have a Recipe Thread to keep all of those together, rather than on Sunday posts. Can we just weigh in on Weigh In Wednesday? Maybe as an alternative we can start posts on Wednesday with our weigh in results in a color (bold, in a different font, etc.) to make them stand out. I don't have a problem doing another "sticky", I'm just asking you guys to talk about the issue some. I already have to send a huge long welcome PM to newbies so they have a clue as to where to find us to actually talk with us. Are there some stickied threads we don't need anymore? Does anyone look at the Birthday thread? There hasn't been an article posted since April. Can we ditch that one? Ideas please.

Second: It was mentioned several times about this site not being safe. That is absolutely right. This site does not require an application. However, your e-mail address is NOT available to anyone (other than Moderators and Administrators) without you giving it to them or you posting it. PLEASE DO NOT post your e-mail address in this forum. If you want someone on the forum to have your e-mail address, PM it to them. If you're not sure, go to hotmail or yahoo and get yourself a free e-mail address and when you sign up for it, for goodness sakes DON'T put your real name and address in the application. Make it an untraceable e-mail address that you can use on websites. Don't give out a "good" e-mail address until you know who you're dealing with. You have no idea who is reading here or what their motives are. The Moderators and Administrators try very hard to keep an eye out for posters who are not who they say they are and are not here for the right purposes. It is up to us to keep our personal information safe. You need to PROTECT YOURSELF by knowing who you're giving your e-mail address out to and posting it for everyone to see IS NOT the way to keep it safe.

Ok, I'm outta here. I know this has been long and very opinionated. If I have offended anyone, I am deeply sorry. I care about each and every one of you. Love to all.

I like the idea of the separate accountability thread because it would be for those who are trying to be focused.

There are many times when people post what they are trying to do to stay focused but it gets lots in emotional stuff or by "look how I've been bad" and it becomes about validating that its okay to be bad.

Its because of the various types of bootcamp/challenge/accountability thread that I've posted on for the last year that have kept me committed. To be honest, I don't get that from this thread in itself because there is so much other stuff going on besides being committed to being healthy. Its hard to be motivated when you're about the only who talking about it in this thread.

I like the idea of being able to focus on exercise and food and offer/receive encouragement and let all the other personal stuff be discussed separately.

That is my opinion, and if that upsets anyone, please send me a PM because I won't answer it on the thread.

I vote for a stickied WI thread. I love to come here and read about everyone and everything you are doing, and thinking, and I love to be able to tell everyone about what's going on in my life, but I agree with Terri, and Kat if we had a seperate thread to keep posting our weight it would keep us focused. At least it would me. I seem to do better if I think I'm competing against someone or something!!! And throw in some money, and I'm really competitive!!!

Thin: my next appointment is on Tuesday.

2Cute: I know what you mean about being able to move more when you swim. If I miss a few day of being in the water, I get so stiff I don't want to move at all.

Just checking in for I go to bed..... it's been a long day.

I did have to ask though..... Mary: Did you watch the race today? There were several wrecks so that kept it interesting, but who wants to watch the Gordon show? Tony is still 5th in points though, so I can definitely handle that.

I'd also like to say that I agree with Terri and Barbg. A separate sticky would be good or just a thread where we could WI and be accountable for food, exercise....etc.

Katrina: It was your idea for the WI thread. Start one with whatever wording you want and when I come in tomorrow I'll "sticky" it.

Tina. I didn't watch the race yesterday. But I know what you mean about not wanting to watch the Gordon show.

Cool Hey all...

Here's my early morning "2 cents:"

As far as the "accountability thread" goes...It doesn't have to be stickied if that's a problem...just using it should keep it alive and up there. Some of the stickied threads can go as far as I'm concerned...the Articles one, for instance. Once I've read something, I'm not going back to re-read. If there's an article someone wants to share, I say just include it in the daily thread...Also, Do the book study threads need to be stickied? Daily use will keep them close to the top, not hard to find. As far as the birthday thread goes...welllllll...there are a few important ones coming up that I wouldn't want anyone to miss!!

I just came off the easiest night I've had (at work) EVER! Not one single admission!! A minor miracle. But it does make for a L*O*N*G night! No problem, I'm off tonight.

Thin! I certainly hope this recent "job" pays a darn good wage! How cute you and honey spent your anniversary on a hot dog hunt!! Congratulations on 28 years. Hey! You were a child bride like me! 21 years for us at the end of July.

Terri...Your night on the water sounds like it was a wonderful time! Did I tell you I love the pictures of your horses? So pretty! Can I come vacation at your house?

BarbPA...I'm so glad to see a post from you! How are you feeling? I thinking nothing but thoughts for you!

I've gotta get moving along here...must start the other thread...and get my butt out the door to the gym before my body realizes it's tired!

later, dudettes...

Morning all!

The WI, not Wisconsin, thread is stickied to the top. Notice I didn't post on it. I got dressed this morning without stepping on the scale so you won't have a number from me until tomorrow.

Katrina: I just happened to notice that there were a couple of "important" birthdays coming up soon, by golly, yes I did! Glad you had an easy night at work. * I bet that's a real rarity, not having ANY admissions??? * I'm with you on the Article Thread. Let's see what everyone else thinks, but I think it will be a goner.

Gotta run. Lunch with #1 Son. Then back home to pack up hot dogs. I did call Fed Ex this morning and they will take them shipped in a hardside cooler that's just duct taped closed. WooHoo! That made my day!!!

See you all later. Love ya bunches.

Hey, gang, Sorry to post a couple times and then disappear. I had a couple of weird, weird, hard days... luckily the stress didn't lead me to overeat for a change. I did, however, sleep for about 30 hours out of 36 on Saturday and Sunday--how's that for retreating from reality? Today reality looks a little brighter than it did Saturday.

Being realistic, I realize I may be one of those people who's not very consistent about posting. Since I spend almost all my work time at the computer, when I have a chance to get away from it I tend to RUN (well, only sorta).

Since Tina's departure is news to me, I'll just say, I'm glad it seems you all can get over your differences.

I like the idea of the WI thread--I hope I'll be a regular there.

Hello Ladies!
I hope you all had a great day! All is ok here. Work was hectic and then we had a basement salesman come over to give us an estimate on finishing it using the Owen/Corning finishing system....they wanted $44,000!!! I don't think so!!!

Now I am just winding down, getting ready to go read in bed!

I think the new weigh-in thread is great! I will, however, not be joining it for a while. The treatments I've been going through have made weight loss very difficult lately. While I am taking the injections I am not allowed to exercise for fear of damaging an enlarged ovary. I am trying to eat right and still get in some walking. This puts my weight in a bit of a holding pattern. But I am going to be right here encouraging and supporting you all! As soon as I get to a point that I can get back to a normal routine I will be over there joining you!

I wish I had time for more right now, but I think I am going to crawl in bed! Have a super night and a great Tuesday! I'll pop in when I can!

Night!
Barb

Well poo,

I just lost my post.

Short version - went horseback riding tonight for quite a while. Knees will probably be sore tomorrow.

I hope to sleep better tonight.

Rode 5 miles on bike this morning on my own since riding partner didn't tell me that she wasn't riding. Think I'm sleeping in tomorrow. She won't ride on her own which is silly. Wonder if she's mad because I had two days last week when I had to be at work early?

What are we posting on the weigh-in thread? Only weigh-ins? Anything else during the week?

I am exhausted so I'm headed off to bed. I'm too tired to start a new thread.

My apologies!

Good night ladies!
