Good Morning!
I hope everyone got up on the right side of the bed today! All is well here. I managed to get the first coat of paint on the spare bathroom last night and hope to finish it up tomorrow night. It's a little brighter than planned, but we like it. It's called "warm spring" - which = bright blue! I think it will look good once I get it all decorated.

I have been falling into my junk food ways the past few days. I have to kick that bad habit back to the curb. I just started my day with my usual egg white omelet that I get at work. Also had some grapes. Lunch is going to be salad and chix and then tonight will be something light. I have a board meeting tonight for the Homeowners association.

Maybe tonight I'll have time to try my new yoga tape before bed. I've been having trouble falling asleep at night - maybe some good stretching and breathing will help. Can't hurt I suppose.

Ok, I could sit here and ramble all day - I better get some work done!

Talk to all you lovely ladies later on!
Barb

Wow this thread is slow going, huh? I didn't post yesterday which is strange for me, but I was poking around of course. Hmm, what can we discuss? Has anyone read any good books lately? I'm in the middle of a book called Sarum by Edward Rutherford..you probably saw his book "The Prices of Ireland" or something like that. I got the book because the Ireland one caught my fancy..but it was hardcover and waaay too much money, so i went and see what else he wrote. It's a great book..covers tons of history so of course i'm in heaven.

Barb: Yay, decoriting. I have a brand new bedroom to decorate...we just had the portch reinsulated and now it's a bedroom and for once in my life I get to start off from a clean slate and DECORATE IT. Also..what's wrong with your back? I've had a problem now for probably six weeks, but I can't see a doctor about it until i get insurance..now that much can be done other than pain killers...or surgery if it's something REALLY damaged

Does anyone know of good online sources for design ideas, or should I just keep watching BBC's Changing Rooms?

2Cute: don't worry we know you're always lurking and that your intentions are good ..maybe I'm slow..this wedding is for your daughter, right?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCKY!!!

Linus - Yes, this is my first IVF cycle. After too many years of trying things the old-fashioned way we found out that we can't get pregnant naturally. So far the meds haven't caused me much problems - just some headaches and tired. However, the next round of meds starts tomorrow so we'll see what they do to me! Thanks for the thoughts!

Melissa - I actually pulled a muscle in my back on Sunday when I was painting a ceiling. Luckily after a good massage and a couple days rest it's feeling much better. I have a meeting tonight so I can't finish the painting, but I am hoping to get it done tomorrow night. TLC is a good source of decorating ideas. I like Trading Spaces and Clean Sweep. I know there are tons of decorating sites out there - do a search on Yahoo or Google. Good Luck!

And big plans for the Easter weekend? Not here - DH is off work tomorrow and I am working from home for part of the day and then getting a hair cut/highlight in the afternoon. We are going to spend a very quiet weekend at home.

Well, I have to run off to a meeting. I hope you are all doing well. Don't forget it's Survivor night!!! I'll be taping it and watching when I get home.

Love to all!
Barb

Hello ladies,

How is everyone? I am so envious of all your decorating projects - I love to change things around, make feeble attempts at prettifying my surroundings and call it design. But since currently I live in a rental my passion for painting walls purple has been stunted

MissMeliss - maybe you can check out diynet.com, hgtv.com and since you like Changing Rooms (I love it! I think it's so much better than Trading Spaces) Laurence has his own site - llb.co.uk - where he posts tips and suggestions. I'm sure your project will turn out great.

Work has been horrendous today so I'm off to the couch for some R&R... I know, I know... I should be doing something more physical but today the couch will have to do. At least I didn't get any chocolate bon-bons...

I wonder who'll get booted off on the Apprentice...

Hey girls!!

Julia you rock, I'm totally in love with Lawrence. You're right...Trading Spaces is soooooooooooo dull compared to the british version..I'm such an anglophile. They would laugh if they knew that my dream is to live there.

Barb - I somehow injured my sciatic nerve working out about six weeks ago..the healing is slow going...

Food today was ok..not the greatest..I had a cadbury egg..gahh..just one though. I had to get the craving out of my system. Owen had been talking about them all week so finally i was like 'you know what? i'm having one..'..so my points for today were slightly high.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR LUCKY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUuuuuuuu

Well this site is going so s l o w w w w I just had to post something. LOL

Missmeliss... yes the wedding is for my youngest daughter. She is 22 and getting married May 22. There will be about 125-150 people at the wedding and planning it takes a LOT of time. If I were to give any tips to others planning a wedding... I would say ..."Don't compare shop". If you find what you like.. just go for it. I way OVER ANALYZED everything. I comparative shopped way too much. Always trying to find the cheapest and best deal.
You can do a reasonable priced wedding... but not with my daughter. LOL
She is always willing to cut back.. but you just want your daughter to have everything she wants... within limits. She has sacrificed some.. but not a lot. LOL
It took me a month or so to finally adapt to $$$$ involved.
We have bargained shopped continually... and we still spent too much.
It is not going to be a real fancy wedding... but a nice one... I hope.

Ooppss .. got a phone call ... gotta run.

Hey everyone

Happy Birthday, dear Lucky! Happy Birthday to you!

I did the silliest thing today. A friend sent me money to go see The Prince and Me. I enjoyed it so much, I bought another ticket and watched it a second time through. After that I went shopping for Easter stuff for the girls. I tried hard to concentrate on fun little things instead of candy, but I did find a chocolate mold for an Easter bunny at Target. I was so excited! My little one is going to have a chocolate bunny in her basket for the first time in years! All the commercial ones have dairy in them, but I can make one for her that won't. You have no idea how happy that makes me. It is really hard sometimes, because you want so desperately for your child to have what everyone else has, even if it is something simple like a chocolate Easter bunny.

I have stalled my weight loss. I know what is wrong, but I'm having trouble turning it around. If I don't eat all six meals, I don't lose weight. So, tomorrow will be carefully planned with at least 3 meals to take along with me (yeah, some are really just snacks). That way I can't screw it up! I have 16 lbs. left in the 300's. I want out of them. It has been long enough. I really want a life back. Actually, I don't want that life back. I want the new one I've been creating for myself.

Oh, did one other thing for myself today. I stopped in a bookstore and bought a pretty journal for myself. It is a woman's journal and has all sorts of quotes as well as some exercises. There is so much going on in my life right now, and I really want to document it for later days.

Andria... what a WONDERFUL post you wrote.
Full of happiness ... full of determination ... full of love ... full of success.
You are a wonderful mom and I can see clearly that you are going to make 299 before you know it. You truly are going to a new world ... a skinnier , happier world that you really are creating for yourself. I am a true believer that we create our happiness... and you are doing a GREAT job at it.
You are going to enjoy the journey and not wait for a destination.

This is not to say I haven't seen great success in others also.
It just happens to be that Andria is the only poster since I was here last and I have time to congratulate her. Plus.... Andria... YOu have started my day with such a positive outlook... THANK YOU.

FRIDAY FUN !!!
Let's make a fun filled day for ourselves ... full of fun for life... not food.

Hey everyone

I'm trying to remain upbeat, but some things in my life are becoming incredibly real. Monday is the breast biopsy, and the hospital just called to confirm everything and give me my instructions. The doctor's office called next to tell me that the radiologist wants a fresh mammogram, so they are trying to squeeze me in (oh, bad mammogram jokes reside there) for one today. I'm trying to remain grounded and in the present. Just because my mother had cancer doesn't mean I do. It also doesn't mean that I don't. If I do, I know how to handle it and what will be done. It is also going to be really early, so there are many more choices than my mother had. Having choices is so very important to me. I'm glad I made decisions early enough on, like having mammograms in the first place, so that I would have choices to make.

This is a parallel path to my weight loss and getting healthy. Taking control now, as I have done and am currently doing, gives me options instead of leaving me as some sort of martyr to the universe and a useless cause. I want those choices. Remaining at my current weight is like allowing them to be stolen from me.

Ok, I have missed two different writing deadlines and have two hours left to make that right. Sorry to dump and run, but I had to write this out. I really had to share this with my friends.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

I quit taking my medicine yesterday - it made me feel awful. I was tired, headache, funny taste in my mouth - I will have to figure a different way to get rid of this infection.

Terri are you the one that has done pilates?

It is only going to be 40 here this weekend so who knows how much work I will get done outside.

Next weekend I have to paint my kitchen - I keep putting it off, but it's NOT getting done that way. Anyone want to come and help????

I left the house at 7:30am and did not get back until 7:30pm.
wow was I worn out. LOL I hurt all over.

I had to rest 30 minutes before I could fix dinner for hubby.
JUst heated him up some leftovers from last night.
Then I started working on an idea I had for my dad's baseball card collection.
It took me all evening. I need to get two more frames to finish it up. that means another evening too. LOL

Well ladies... I am going to start a new thread since we have hit 29.
