Did a lot of work yesterday, but today I have most of the day to get packed and groom.

First off to walk then eat brekkie. The dogs are fed and the coffee's made!

Computer woes are a pain, I agree! But it seems that our lives are more intwined with them every day!

Aye, those computers are wonders when they work but when they don't.......

I was at 200.4 or something like that yesterday but today - ta da - was back down to 199.8. Ole Demon Scale knows how to toy w/me. Will try to be very good over holiday but lots of food here.

Saw doc for back - gave me script for prednisone - I've had it filled but haven't taken it yet. Other than back (& kids) I've been feeling better than in ages - back is improving but still debating meds. There's that old weight gain thing w/prednisone.

DS did point out to DD that Mom (who is not involved) should not be subjected..... etc. I've done my best to ignore and they did exchange a little courtesy in that she wished him good luck on some job issues and he had suggested they talk about it just not at that time and/or via email. DD has emailed a bit more to me but I've been trying to be diplomatic. Problem this time is that DD included DDIL who is also not a shy chick (though very nice).

I'm sure things will go well enough on the holiday but it (and work issues) may have DS/DDIL leaving early (as vs staying the whole weekend). Sigh.......

Well, back to prepping for tomorrow. Good healthy menu planned if I limit myself (as there are also a lot of goodies planned). Seeing that 199.8 today just might keep me from going bananas. I hope.

Smile Happy Thanksgiving to my wonderful American friends!

I'm thankful for YOU!

Hmmm... I was going to put a turkey there but the "more smilies" button seems to be opening a new post window instead. Well, in any case, probably for the best. I wouldn't want lies thinking I was suggesting they were turkeys.

? Sorry -- just had to try. You are not a turkey, though.

So. Day 2 here, and all is well. I'll come in with my formulated list before long but for now I'm: exercising, drinking plenty of water, eating plenty of fruits and veggies & not eating sugar or wheat or... junk.

I've got writing group tonight. Huzzah! It will be great to spend an evening with lovely women and do some writing.

Anagram, I'm glad the kidlets at least know better. Sheesh! Maybe there'll be a holiday miracle and all will be harmonious?

Ceara, where are you off to? I apologize if you said. Man, those dogs keep you hopping, don't they.

K, Lovelies, have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Love to each and every one of you, even the ones that are AWOL.

Exclamation Holy puffy!

Had pizza on brown rice tortillas for dinner last night, complete with anchovies and olives. It was good, and pretty much blameless but for a modest amount of cheese but salty. Up 1.5 this a.m. and pants feel snugger. Howe'er, I ran a little extra this morning and did yoga. Shall hit the water. Glug. Salt cannot prevail.

We've got DH's staff party tonight. They usually have a typical Christmassy meal so I can do turkey and veggies, salad and skip the dessert. Just need my mind set on a 2-glass wine limit. We'll also be walking there and likely dancing, so that should work out okay. Muesli/fruit/yogurt for breakfast; bean soup for lunch.

Still have a little work to do before Monday but now I'm tired. So I'm going to take it easyish this afternoon. And, huzzah, no cooking tonight.

May your day be merry and bright!

Thumbs up One more party down

And it was a triumph, if not really a lot of fun. And it's over! I conducted myself exactly as planned, huzzah. Also DH and I cleaned the living room windows -- they have to be taken down with a ladder and dismantled and reassembled for cleaning, so an extra hour of calories burned and nice to have them clean and shiny.

I've got to do some work today because I procrastinated. Ah well. But, o/w, it's Sunday: We'll go for a long walk, come back for eggy breakfast.

May all lies have a wonderful day. Love to all!

Hello all,

Things have slowed down some, and DH has had a chance to recoup and get stronger..... We are holding our breath for confirmation as the radioogist thinks the radiation has killed the lung tumor. DH has 2 more scheduled radiation treatments until further notice.

In about 2 weeks, a PET Scan will tell us more. The lymph nodes are still in question of course and then, there is always that question, "Did the cancer go anywhere else?"......

But we are enjoying the respite, DH has been able to enjoy many more foods again and even took DMom and I for a ride yesterday after breakfast out.

We did Thanksgiving but at a slow pace, and I am starting to decorate a little for Christmas.... first, more cleaning and rearranging to make room.
Again, on a small scale but to keep our hand in.....

DH's sister and her husband were here a week ago for 2 days and she plans on coming back in 2 weekends.... It was fun to see them and lifted DH's spirits enormously.

Its amazing how something like this reshuffles your priority deck and how you are so able to give away so many things you held so precious in boxes in closets and basements and attics.

Here's today's thought:

************

Thought of the day:

"All problems become smaller if you don't dodge them, but confront them. Touch a thistle timidly, and it pricks you; grasp it boldly and its spines crumble."

- William S. Halsey, WWII U.S. Admiral

Question of the day:

"Did you do any shopping this weekend or today?"

****************************

Hugs to all, Anagram, I will check out the distance site...thanks~
