I've been there and lost the motivation too. Your at a place where you can hit the breaks though! You're lucky! Trust me losing that weight is going to feel worse when you have to do it all-over again so now is the time to take all the suggestions seen above and find out which of them works for you. Look at those clothes that are big on you now... do you REALLY want to wear those again?

I'd also want to add that if food is getting boring change it up. Find something totally new to eat. Anyone would get bored eating the same thing over and over. Pick up Cooking Light or Eating Well magazines to look for ideas.

I feel like I am this close to messing up and gaining the 38 lbs back again. I all ready had my first bad bad day Saturday, and don't want to start gaining again. The pep talk I have given myself is getting old. Food is getting blah, ( especially lunch and dinner), I had a baked sweet potato today for lunch and usually feel good after I eat it, but today I didn't even want to eat it, but I did.
What do you guys do when you feel like this?

Change your food around. If it's getting blah, you need to come up with some more creative recipes and foods to eat.

I have a picture of me when I was at my thinnest. I look at it whenever I am feeling bummed, and tell myself, some day, I WILL be that thin again. Also, I try to divert myself from the bad thinking.

Have any old hobbies that you use to enjoy? I love doing puzzles. So, I treated myself to a new one this week- it's 750 pieces, and the scenery is beautiful on it. I also have a Christmas afghan I started a little while back (it hurts my hand to crochet for long periods of time, so I do a little here and there). I pick it up and add some stitches to it, and I swear, keeping the mind occupied and busy keeps it off of food. Just knowing that I saved calories while making something beautiful makes me smile!

These are my things that I love to do to keep my mind going and off of the blahs. Also, Word Searches and Fill It In's are also fun for me. I call these my quiet and alone "happy breaks", if you will. I also love to paint little figurines and ornaments- I have some Halloween ones I'm going to paint in a couple of weeks to go on our Halloween tree this fall.

Walking and dancing in the living room also makes my mood lift. Our cable has a bazillion music channels- something for everybody. Well, today the kids decided we were going to dance to Opera, Salsa, Broadway and Heavy Metal music. It was hilarious, especially watching my son use the broom as a microphone and seeing him play the drums with two pencils and several bowls, lmao. Mind you, we have a set of drums he could have used. I cracked up at the songs they picked, but it got me dancing and laughing right along with them.

I wish I had a magic answer for you, but I don't. I DO have a lot of issues here lately, but the weight loss WILL NOT be affected by them. I have to agree with Robin, you have to have the COMMITMENT to yourself to get through the hard times. I look at it as that is the ONLY THING I HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL over, and if only for that reason, I get through it here. Everyone has given you good advice for things to do to ~ but it is up to you to make it work.

Grab some of the mojo from here and hang on to it!

hey girl!
I'm soo glad someone posted EXACTLY how I feel!! I can go for about 4 days being super-motivated and "in charge" of myself----but then ONE DAY, bam! It hits me that I totally want to give up and think I will NEVER get to the goal I want to get to! This leads to a huge why bother atittude??? and then I give myself stupid permission to binge!! ughhhh.....

I loved reading these motivational posts. thank you, everyone!!!!! I need to find some old photos of my younger days (15-16) when i was around 180 and remember that! I am 24 now and should have the appropriate body of a young woman! not a pregnant girl! geez!!!

sending my love and faith to you all----WE CAN DO IT---WE WILL DO IT.
