Sheila, the Anteaters is the University of California, Irvine. Supposedly all UC mascots are supposed to be a type of bear but I believe UC Santa Cruz are the Banana Slugs (don't ask me).

Banana Slugs?? I'd love to see the Geoducks play the Banana Slugs. What a hoot! Can you imagine the mascot costumes on those teams?! LOL!

In High school, out team was the "indians" and in junior high, they were called braves or lady braves,..lol

In college we were the Lions... nothing too interesting. I know hubby's high school was the Garnets. I always thought that was odd, but not near as odd as Banana Slugs,...LOL

In high school we were the wolverines (and cubs) but years ago they were the frogs (go tadpoles for junior high) and before that the owls. what a hoot. (j/k)

in college OSU Cowboys (go pokes—never figured that one out) and then graduated an Aggie (also another nickname for the cowboys of OSU)

The kids in my high school would LOVE to play a team with that name.

I am almost embarrased to tell you mine.... We were the Mapletown Maples. our mascot was a Maple Leaf... Oh yeah, thats fierce isn't it!?!

We were made fun of ALL the time!!

I went to college at West Virginia University. We were the Mountaineers.

In high school, we were the Dragons. In college, I was a Rebel.

Not far from here, there's a university who are the Fighting Okra.

My aunt spent her freshman year at a private Jesuit college in Washington state. They were the Missionaries. Their campus newspaper was called "The Missionary Position."
