Misty - you are doing great!

I got in 6 workouts last week - went light on weights and my bum shoulder seems to be holding out well.

Have been eating some whole grain bread - just can't seem to go completely off bread. I am doing well at staying off junk food and sugar and other white foods.
I've been having no trouble with the nighttime cut-off.

WI on Sat. said no change, maybe I'll weigh today and see if it's any different. I've been fluctuating alot due to PMS, so I'll take it with a grain of salt.

Katy- I'm sure if you keep up with thos eworkouts you'll see thats cale move soon!!

Jen-how are the nights going? I don't think I could work nights, I'd get way to confused lol.

GREAT job on the 3 pounds loss, Miss McCoy! You're doing great!

Well I have to run, it's nap time but that means it's time for me to get done everything I can't do with four little kids running around.

Morning all. Just a quick post to say that I weighed in and have lost 2 lbs last week! So that brings me to 2.4lbs since starting bootcamp which I know is not a lot but considering that I've been actually on program about 5 days out of these past 2 weeks I'd say that is okay! I'm going to do better this week I swear! I didn't go to the gym this morning but I was still wiped out from working nights, it really does take a lot out of me when I'm not used to it, and opted for a couple of hours of sleep instead. I'm back to my usual 3-11 so I have to get ready to go to work.

Great work Ebony and Misty with the losses! Take care all.

Good morning all!

GREAT JOB ON THE LOSS JEN!!!!!!

It has been a rocky start to the week for me. I was so sick Sunday I ate nothing. Litterally, I had 1 cup of hot tea with a splash of skim milk and splenda and 1 glass of plain iced tea. I also drank lots of water. So I had about what 15 calories? Yesterday I still didn't feel up to eating so I forced myself to have a smartones and 1 cup of broccoli at lunch. I had lots of water and a couple cups of tea and that was it all day. I jumped on the scale this morning and I am down an additional 2.5 pounds since yesterday. Which is nice, but I know it won't stay b/c I am starving myself. I still don't feel like eating but I am going to have to ease my calories up. Hopefully I can start eating a bit and slowly raise my consumption of calories so that when I feel like eating again I don't just jump right into it and have a huge gain.

I didn't exercise yesterday. I just never found the time. I think I may have to start getting up at 5:00 instead of 5:45 and doing it then. B/c at nap time I need a break and in the evening I'm just too tired. We'll see!

Well my new friends will be here at 6:15 or so...that is if thier mom can get through this awful weather we are having...so I am off. I need to find a crafty thing to do today and get berakfast laid out for everyone. I plan on getting AJ up ALOT earlier today. She's use dto sleeping til 8:30 and we got her up at 7:30 yesterday, but she was still rearing to go at 10 pm last night and DH and I were both ready to pass out we were so tired. I'll aim for 7 today.

Have a great day all!!! ~misty

Morning all. Thanks for the support Misty, I'm sorry to hear that you were sick. That's got hurt when you have so many kids to look after. I couldn't get up at 5am to exercise though especially when I work until 11pm. Last night it took me ages to get to sleep, just couldn't shut my brain down. I was thinking a lot about losing weight and thinking that it isn't rocket science so why do we have so much problem with it? When I have a solution I"ll write a book and make a billion $$. Anyway I really want to stick with the plan this week and I've made myself up a big To Do list for today so that I"m not sitting around watching tv and snacking. That is about my worst habit, I just can't sit and watch tv or read without wanting to snack on something and that something is usually crackers with cheese or peanut butter or cheese whiz or also cookies. It ends up adding up to several hundred calories I don't really need.

Have a good day everyone, see you later.

Hello! Naptime once again. Things are going ok today. My daughter is having a really har dtime adjusting to other kids playing with her stuff, but she has to get used to it at some point. I didn't feel up to breakfast so I am having a salad with left over chicken from last night's dinner I didn't eat. I'm feeling alot better today.

Well I have to vacuum and such before the kids leave for the day. I'm trying to keep up with the mess as we go. Have a good one!

Well did not get to the gym as I had planned but I got a decent workout today anyway. When I went out to take my son to daycare I discovered that my muffler had fallen off after I backed into a pile of snow last night and must have snapped it off. It was already pretty rotten obviously. So I took my son to daycare and then right over to Speedy to get it fixed dragging half of my exhaust system along the way. I was just cringing the whole way because the car is super loud and I'm just waiting for the rest of the exhaust to be torn off. Ended up being $600. I should have gotten it done weeks ago but I was waiting for dh to phone a buddy of his to see if a guy he knows could do it for cheap. He'd never gotten around to doing it and this is the result. I'm not blaming him, it's my own fault for just not getting it done myself. anyway I ended up walking back from Speedy's and then back there again when the car was done and then I just spent an hour outside wrestling with the snow blower. I think I deserve credit for a workout because moving that blower around was rough, I am wiped out now. When I came in I thought I'd been out there at least 2 hours but it was only actually 1. Felt like about 4! It is hard to get the hang of working those things and the neighbour across who has one took pity on me and came over to give me some pointers. then also I did some shovellling as well. geez, I hope we aren't getting anymore snow for a day or so!

My eating has been great today. I've kept myself busy and away from eating crap. I've gotten a fair bit done today too, just catching up on household bills etc. I still need to clean off the dining room table as it is covered with papers and stuff. For now I'm off to pick up my son and go get some groceries.

Misty, glad to hear that you are feeling better!

Hi!

WOW JEN! What a day huh? I think you definatley deserve credit for a workout, probably two and a half LOL!! Got to love cars...it's always something with them. We got a few inches today, but I luck out we live on a farm and have tractors and a skid steer (not sure how to spell that) do our snow removal. I think you accomplished avoidng sitting around

Things here went very well today. My new little ones are on a very similar schedule to my kids. AJ is slowly adjusting and is very clingy after they leave, but I am making a point to do some special stuff with her in the evening. She helped me make dinner and then some pudding....boy that was torture but I was good. I told AJ she could lick the bowl, so she stuck her head in and went to work So I have a mass of blonde curls that need to be washed Well I better get to it!

Misty, I just noticed that you are in onderland (weight under 200). Good job!! That must feel really great. Sounds like you had a busy day too. How old is you little girl?

I didn't mention that I hurt my ankle yesterday, I think when I was doing so much walking in my winter boots. I don't wear them very often because I'm not outside that much that I need boots all the time so I'm not used to walking long distances in them. I think that strained my ankle and it was very bad by the evening. I think it rested up enough overnight so that it'll be better today. I've got a little limp right now and I"m hoping that it will loosen up over the day.

Take care all, see you later.

hello!

Jen-I hope your ankle is better. My Daughter is 22 months, my son is 6 months, and the two I watch are 23 months and 4 years. Yes, onerland is wonderful! I am at the lowest I've been in years and years. And of rteh first time ever I weigh less than my husband. When I was much healthier and weighed about 145 I still weighed more, so this is cool. For me that is, not for him LOL!

I am so exhausted after getting up at 5:30 and getting to bed at 10, getting up during the night with my baby I just haven't exercised. I know no excuses, but my body is beat! SO much for 8 times a week. I think that is unrealistic for me with my new schedule. When it was just me with my 2 kids all day (as it was when I committed) then it was doable. I think I can change it to five times and week and still feel like I didn't quit.

We just finished making soup and bread for lunch, we'll see if the bread gets done in time. It takes 3 hours. I had a bunch of veggies that needed to be used up so we'll see how this soup turns out. The kids helped make it so maybe they will eat it.

Well I better get the kitchen cleaned up while they play. Today is the anniversary of Dr. Suess's birthday so we are doing a "One Fish, Two Fish" project and maybe watching the Lorax. I don't normally let them watch tv during the day, so we'll see. HAve a great day all!

Misty, I think you are doing wonderfully considering the work you've got during the day. I feel like I am going nuts some days when my 4 year old is home all day let along looking after 4 kids when 3 of them are under 2 years! Cutting back on your workouts is not quitting. Oprah's crew was doing 8 workouts but I think they had a lot more time and opportunity and motivation to do it. Hey when you know you have to show up at work to exercise with Oprah you'd better believe they are going to be there. To me the spirit of the bootcamp is to increase the intensity of your workouts and do strength training as well. I haven't been to the gym today because my ankle is still a bit sore and I"m sore all over today from wrestling with the snowblower yesterday. I know for sure that if I went for a workout I"d be really tired for work tonight and be frustrated at myself. I'd rather stay at home and rest til I have to go to work. I know my own limitations and abilities. There is nothing wrong with adapting this program to fit your own schedule. It's not like it is written in stone! For me the biggest part really is following the diet and cutting out the refined carbs.

talk to you later!

Good Morning! How's everything going? Seems to be pretty quiet around here lately MAybe we'll hear from a few more people by Monday.

I think you are exactly right Jen. You hit the nail on the head when you said..."the spirit of the bootcamp"... I think I am following through with the spirit of it all. I don't feel like I am quitting by cutting back the exercise. And certainly if I had a job with a gym built right in and Oprah to exercise with it would be alot more motivating! As it is I really don't get "off work" until about 10 pm when DH is in from feeding heiffers and AJ is ready for bed. I have nap time but my treadmill is right where the kids are sleeping. I am doing pretty well getting up between 5:30 and 5:45 and truthfully Ben wakes at 4:45 or so for a bottle and a change so I should just get up then. Maybe next week, maybe not we'll see. But let me tell ya, Friday I'm sleeping IN!!! I don't get to sleep in much on weekends b/c DH like sto so I take the kids down when they get up.

Well have a great day all!

Morning Misty. Sounds like you are up and about and off to a great start. I worked til 11pm last night and it took me awhile to get to sleep and I'm still really tired this morning. I'll probably have a doze on the couch til I have to take my son to daycare and then I"ll try and get a couple of hours of sleep as I am working nights tonight.

I think as long as whatever you are doing is working than that is fine. I mean you have to work within the parameters of your own life or it's not going to work and you'll get frustrated and give up. I think that is what happens with a lot of people, they try some whacked out diet where they are making 2 different meals and eating food that they have never eaten before and it gets to be too much of a change too soon. Really with my plan I'm just putting in the effort to not to eat refined carbs because previously it was so easy for me to sit down and eat crackers and cheese or cookies when I was bored or like a sleeve of crackers and lots of cheese would be lunch. I'd love to be able to work out 8 times a day, this week I"ll be lucky to get in 2 workouts, I'm going to try and get in today and tomorrow but with me working nights I'm not sure how much I will feel like it. Life happens and it isn't always possible to get to the gym but as long as I realize that it isn't the end of the world it is okay if I get there when it is possible. It seems to me from reading these boards that there are a lot of all or nothing people here. If they don't follow their plan 100% then they might just as well abandon the whole thing and go back to the behaviours that caused them to gain weight in the first place. I'm not claiming that I am 100% perfect in that regard but I do think I'm learning how to follow a weight loss program in a way that I can also live my regular life.

Wow, those are deep thoughts for this early in the morning! I weighed in this morning and you can see by my signature (or when I update it you will) that I have less than 100 lbs to lose! this is the first in a really, really long time that I've made it down this far and I feel very proud of myself that I am doing this plan and losing slowly and keeping the weight off! We are all doing a great job.

Default Looking for some encouraging words of wisdom

Good Eveneing everyone. I am not doing Oprah's work out routine, but i have been trying to walk/jog everyday and then curves occasionally, but the past few days I realized that i am falling back into old habit. I am sabotaging myself lately and it makes me sooo mad! i dont knwo why. i think im blaming it on my "time of the month" and cravings to binge. I was going so well, i had lost about 20 lbs in 4 weeks in the UWL and now i see i have gained 5 back already. Can i get some words of encouragement? i think thats what i need, i dont have much support here and my motivation is slowly being drained. I am waaay slacking on the excersizing and am now eating in boredom agian. ahhh! help! thank you so much!
