"Shorty" is much better than "stump," and they should let her call it whatever she wants! Whatever makes things easier for her is what she should do!

I feel very sluggish today because I had far too much wine last night at that dinner party. I also had an estimated 28 flex points -- wow! I never use all my flex points, but I just had to indulge a little last night.

Yesterday I took a longer walk and added a few intervals of jogging for the first time, even though I had cramps from my TOM. I was rather proud of myself, and I really want to do it again today but I feel like crap. I'm still going to try, and at least I'll do my walk. The scale's been saying 248 the last few mornings, but I hope it'll be down on Tuesday. I weighed myself at the gym and it weighed me about 8 pounds heavier!!! Of course, that was including clothes and heavy shoes, but I imagine my scale weighs about 5 pounds light. Ugh.

How's everyone doing?

Hi girls.......Yes, it sure has been awhile and I suppose I am on the mend. I have about 3 days left of meds to take and TOM is almost gone but having the last week off and feeling crappy.....have left me back at square one with no motivation!!! Dh was off for 3 days last week and we had words (or he did any ways....) that left 2 days that was spent with the proverbial "walking on egg shells" . hate that!! We are all now good, but boy....he sure is under alot of stress and it spills off here at home!!! I know I just have to get back into the gym and do it, ... make the time but I lately feel defeated alot. Sorry to have been a lurker lately, and thanks for thinking of me girls!!

Chris.....WHAT?? I thinks thats absurd that she can't call it shorty!! She should be able to call it whatever she wants ...after all she's been through. Good to know she'll be home soon. congratulations on the new treadmill!!! wooohooo, student loans are good for something eh?

LisaMarie.....So you had some wine?...good to hear you had a great time at the party. Thats what flex points are for!!! Wine always leaves me groggy the next day. Great job in getting that excercise in, even with TOM.

ChristinaMarie.....WTG on the great choices at tacobell!!! I'll have to remember those. How's the weekend so far?

Paula?... come out come out wherever you are???

Yay! Paula's back!! We've been wondering about you! I knew that even if you were off track, you'd get right back on. Way to go!

I was soooo sluggish today after the wine and pasta last night, but I made myself get out there and do a 55 minute walk/jog anyway, and then I did an hour of strength training. Please oh please let this motivation stay with me!

Tomorrow I'm taking a day off from working out, partly because I haven't done that since 9/8 and partly because I have to stay at school ALL day for a PTA thing. I won't be able to leave work until 8:30, and there's no way I'm going to the gym after that.

I've only had 20 points today, but I'll have a snack in a bit.

Michelle- is walking an option for you? That's what I've been doing, and now I'm mixing in some short intervals of jogging. By walking I mean FAST walking, as fast as you can go without falling over, because that's the best way to do high intensity cardio without jumping around or anything like that. So many people just stroll along and while that's better than nothing, it's not getting your heart up so it's not really cardio.

If you can't walk outside for whatever reason, there are some great DVDs that lots of people on the boards use -- I'm just getting into them too -- the Walk Away the Pounds series by Leslie Sansone. I like to mix it up and sometimes walk outside, sometimes on the treadmill at the gym, and sometimes use the DVDs.

Michelle - I walk every day, whether it's at the gym, outside, or using the DVDs or tapes. I intended to take a day off a week, but I haven't been doing that except for today because I had to stay at work until 8:30. I do a five minute warm-up of walking slowly, then I walk fast for 35 minutes (I'm raising that to 38 starting tomorrow), and then I cool down for 5 minutes. I started with 25 minutes of high intensity walking and then I kept increasing it.

I had 26 points today but no exercise (my target is 28). Weighing in tomorrow!

Hi!! Saturday and Sunday were a bust... not that I gorged myself, I just didnt count the points so I am sure I went over. But today I am back and topped off at 24 points. Even though I did not count points Sat. and Sun, I still kept my portions in check... that is a break through for me. Like last night we had pasta, and I measured out only a cup of it and put it in a cereal bowl instead of filling one of our "pasta" bowls.

I will weigh in tomorrow... I know I have lost something...we will see for sure tomorrow!

I love the fall... we picked up some apple cider this weekend at wegmans and I really don't ever remember liking it as much as I do this year. I really want to get my fall decorations out...but its alittle hard to do that when its still getting up to 80 some days lol.

My computer is driving me nuts. The darn thing keeps freezing up. I ran my spyware and did a virus scan..nothing showed up. I did my disk clean up and its still slow. What to do???

ANyhow, I got a mini walk in tonight trying to sell stupid cookie dough door to door. We got one sale in 4 blocks. If the stuff wasn't so darn expensive, it would be easier for the kids. So after the munchkins go to bed, I'm going to jump on the treadmill for awhile.

Tomorrow is my doc appt with my rheumatologist. I'm going to tell him about my back even though I know its not arthritis in it. I can bend forward slightly and when I walk it feels like my spine is compressed down. I can't sleep very well because no matter what position I get in, my back starts hurting something horrible. I can knock myself out with allergy pills to get some sleep but then I lay on my back too long and wake up looking like something from a horror movie. LOL. We'll see what happens.

Gonna go and get those little kiddos to bed. See ya all in the morning. HEy...WELCOME MISS CRETIA!

Chris

p/s Paula...good to have you back.

Hi all. Michelle, I get now weigh 171 and I have been using between 22 and 24 pts. I was at 22 until I had my little slip up. Another 2 lbs and I will be back to 22. I know what you mean about the points, you have to use them wisely. And plan really well. Thanks Chris for the welcome back. I hope all is well with you and your family. Ok, today I did good. Yeah!! Breakfast-all bran bar/canaloupe/banana=4 pts. lunch-smart one/peach=7 pts. dinner-salad/lean cuisine=7 pts. 18 total so far. Not sure what I will have later. I have class tonight so at least I will be busy. Today I worked out at Curves. I probably will not ride my bike today. No time. Everyone have a great night.

Hey girls!!....welcome to Miss Cretia!!!

Paula....Nice to see you again. We've missed you.

Chrilly....not sure what flavour 'stupid cookie dough' is , but I have 'stupid candy bars' as our fundraiser for boy scouts. 2 full boxes just a' sitting on the kitchen counter. GIVE ME STRENGTH!!!

Miss Cretia.....yum yum, love those smoothie's. I do one with cocoa powder, ff carb countdown and 1 scoop of protein powder. LOVE THEM!!

I joined another thread as well for the kickoff of the Biggest Loser. So hopefully that will jumpstart me into the next phase. I've been up and down and with some minor health issues, so I've got to get back into the groove and get on with it. On the plus side, its an ABSOLUTELY GORGEGOUS fall day and I just got in from a great walk!!! Fall is in the air wooohooo
