Default Success At Home?

Good Morning!!!
I've tried WW before and it worked well! but now I'm going to try it at home..
What kind of success have you guys had doing it at home? I know the meetings were very motivating, so I'm curious to see how people are doing on their own?? How much weight loss have you experienced?

Thanks!!

I have loved doing it at home. However, I have never had the experience of attending a meeting. Find a day to weigh yourself at home and join a thread for that day of the week. This way it gives you some accountability. So far I have lost about 20 pounds in the less than 2 months I have been doing W.W. Most of my weight (about 16-17 pounds) came off during the first month. Good luck!

Hi Megan,

I did go to WW meetings about 2 years ago and after about 2 months I gave it up. I never found the meetings motivating for me...it was a simple weigh-in and goodbye. I also had excuses, its too cold, I have to work late, I'm too tired etc....then miss one week and not go back.

This time I am doing it from home (for the last 6 weeks). I am following the WW points and doing exercise (yoga and swimming). I find it much easier to not have excuses...to weigh-in I go to one of the weigh machines in my local gym each Monday. It prints out a little slip so I have a record too.

...It works for me...:-)

talk to ya soon,
Fionnuala

Thanks for sharing girls! I guess I was a little leary about easy it is to follow at home. Although I'm finding it to be okay. I'm following weight watchers while incorporating the south beach diet.. a little tricky, but seems to be doing the trick.

Keep up the great work everyone!!

I'm doing WW at home too. When I did go to meetings I just didn't find them very motivating. I get lots more motivation and good ideas from this board and others that I belong to. Also, it was just way too expensive for me to go to meetings each week. Good luck!

I love doing WW at home. I didn't want to go to meetings because I just didn't want to be around people. I've lost 136 lbs...I just hit my goal of 130 lbs. on April 5th. You can do it too

Well, I've been really considering this as well, doing it at home. I tried WW meetings for 3 weeks and gave up.
But, I need to get busy again and I need to lose the weight that I've gained from stress/emotional eating.
Smoo........wow, you are an encouragement to me. To see that you've done it and met your goal. Wow. I need to check out your website for sure!
I have all the material from when I did join up, so do I just use those? It was at least a year ago, things haven't changed with their program in that time has it?!

Thanks

Pam

This is my first time doing it online only and I have to say that I love it!
I'm sticking to the plan with no problems so far.
I live in a tiny town and our meeting is on a day/time that I can't attend.

I did the WW meetings last year, after my mother-in-law, and sister-in-law lost the combined weight of 130 pounds..I had trouble going, because of the $$, and I didn't take it seriously. I've started WW at home with my family this week, and I've lost 3 pounds!! At first, I wondered if it would work for me, but this is so encouraging! I'm so glad that we can come here and talk about WW!!

Default Getting back to it....

Hi everyone! I just discovered 3FC's website 2 days ago and I am very excited to find this group here! I went to WW about 3 years ago and had great success with it, losing every week! Then I got cocky and thought I could save myself the money and go it alone. Well....needless to say it was not as easy alone, that is why I am here!
I did not find our WW meetings motivational at all, it was the accountability that I needed and having to get on that scale infront of someone every week was what kept me losing! So, maybe here with you all is where I need to be! I am looking forward to many chats!

Smoo- You are truely an inspiration, I am so happy for you meeting your goal! We all know what kind of determination that takes, Congratulations!

I just started doing WW online and I like it way more then I liked going to meetings. For me the meetings were more of a downer then a motivator. Plus I have an issue with people sitting there saying I don't understand why I am overweight - and at the meeting place where I went that's all it was, people dwelling and saying life isn't fair.

For me, I know why I'm overweight, I like to eat! I just need to know how to control my eating and exercising. I don't want to sit there for 30 minutes and get myself all worked up and upset - I want to go and be motivated.

The online is great because you can go and read people's success stories and find recipes. For me that's motivating. Plus I work on a computer all day so it's so convenient for me.

But I think it's just all about preference.
