Default let's talk about scales

what kind of scales are you at-home ww followers using?

we just have the old fashioned arrow type scale. i'm wondering if i should invest in a digital scale. and if i do what kind of digital scale do you guys recommend?

& i've also heard that scales lose their effectiveness if you keep them in the bathroom (b/c of the humidty). where do you keep your scale?

& how do you stop yourself from weighing yourself every five seconds?

I think the digital scales are much more accurate. I personally have a Health O meter scale. It advertises that it is the "Doctor's scale" so it is supposed to be very accurate. You can program in your goal weight and every time you weigh yourself you can save it and it will tell you how many more pounds you have to go. All password protected of course!! I think Homedics is a good brand too. I keep my scale in the bedroom that way I can weigh myself before I get dressed in the morning. As far as not weighing myself all the time.....hah, hah.....not likely. I weigh myself every morning!!! I can't help it!!

I have digital scales and I keep them in the kitchen at the moment. I weigh myself after breakfast when I'm dressed. I try to limit weighing myself to once a week but occasionally 'cheat' and weigh myself mid-week to see if anything is happening, LOL.

Does anyone have the WW digital scales and if so, how are they? I bought another type of digital scale a couple of years ago, it only worked for a few months. Since the WW type is kind of expensive, I have been afraid to try them.

Default Scales

I love your user name living4him. I must say that is the desire of my heart to live for Christ.
I bought 2 WW scales. One at Linen n Things for $39.95 that I have had for 2 years. Recently, our superwalmart had a WW scale for $24.95. They both are digital scales. I think you will be able to find one at any one of these places at a reasonable price.
I am on this journey for life. I don't know why it is so hard for me to be consistent. I reach goal and then quit. I must remember all eating habits have passed away and new ones have entered.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The Spirit is willing but the flesh is not.
Have a great day.

I have a health-o-meter digital scale that measures to 2/10 of a pound. So far it has been really accurate. I do keep it in the bathroom though. I never heard that about the humidity causing problems. I am horrible about weighing myself too! I weigh every single morning before I take a shower! Sometimes more than once a day!

I use the WW digital scales, they are right on with the scales at my doc's office. I am a scale addict, I weigh many times during the day

I recently bought myself a digital scale...forgot the brand name of it. Anyway, I like it much more than the needle scales because it's more accurate. It gives me the precise number of my weight, whereas with the needle scale, I had to guess (and recalibrate every time) what my weight was.

I have a Terraillon brand digital scale. It works ok, but sometimes I give it the old "2 out of 3" thing. I keep it in the bathroom in an upright position, because for some reason one of the cats likes to sit on it and wear out the battery!

I have an old needle scale I've had for about a year. It is pretty much what the one at the doctor says. But I wanted to buy a digital scale for a more precise reading. So I bought a Health o meter digital. It seemed on the box to be a pretty good scale. I brought it home and it weighs me 7 pounds more than my needle scale! So I thought I would ask a couple of my friends to weigh themselves and then get on my 2 scales and see what they say. The digital was always way off and the needle scale was accurate. Has anyone had the same problem with this particular scale? I purchased it from wal-mart on rollback for $19.00. I started to get the Weight Watchers one. Wish I would have cause now I am stuck with this one since I threw away the box.

The digital scales I have used, gave me different numbers each time I stepped on them. I bought two different wwers scales and had the same result, one was 24.99 the other 49.99. I used a good ol health o meter scale, It is one pound shy of my doctors scale.
My doctor told me not to obsess about the number as long as I'm going down......

I had to go digital, because I could cheat the needle kind...(standing on one foot, etc...)
