Default At Home Support Dec 28-Jan 3 New Year Joy

Well since it is a new week & almost the new year I wanted to start the new thread.

I know I have talked in earlier threads about my goals and as I think back to what I want and what I have accomplished. I don't think I did bad this past 6 months on my lifestyle changes. I did not meet my goal for the year (weight 148) but heck--thats ok too.

I am healthier that I was and I am learning to eat a new way and so is my family which has to be good. LOL teaching them while I can to eat healthy so they will not face the same issues I do/did.

Ok so the big wi today after a week of holiday cheer of food, wine and not one minute of exercise .... gain of .5 I'll take it not as bad as I thought. And if I look back at my journal I had a loss for the month of 2pounds so there is some victory to go "oooh your did good"

The new year week is not going to be hard for me to stick to my pts as I never did fall into that celebrating date.

So what are your goals for the new year, did you meet last years goal?

I absolutely did not meet the goals from last year! But I will not feel bad about it b/c this is the 1st year in probably 10+ that I am starting off the NY weighing less than I did before. Only 16 pounds but that's still somethin'!

I also made lots & lots of great changes this year. I have never been much of a vegtable eater, now my diet is probably 1/3 fruits and vegtables! Last year I would always order my food at restaraunts w/ NO VEGGIES. Now, bring on the veggies!! Huge improvement. I have also discovered that I really enjoy a good salad.

I have also started preparing most of my meals at home & finding ways to eat healthy while at work. This is saving me $$ & helping me to lose weight.

It's been a good year!

My goals for the New Year:

1. Keep up w/ the positive changes I've already made.
2. Really start exercising regularly.
3. Keep my house cleaner.
4. Lose more weight!

My goal was to be 40lbs lighter by christmas. I made it to about 34 so i'm pleased with that. I'm not setting a weight loss goal for the new year, I'm just trying to make healthier choices and see where that get me. I also plan to get in more activity.

Great job on the loss Blue!

Your menu looks much better than the last one I saw of your Chelley. Looks like you are really making an effort to get some fruits & veggies in.

Good day for me today, made taco salads for dinner & they were yums! Spent lots of time w/ the DF this weekend w/ no arguments at all. I swear, staying on track makes me easier to get along with.

Used 44 points today (I'm allowed 42), so only used 2 of my weekly allowance. That's an improvement from yesterday. I wasn't very hungry today either & no stomach aches. I must be recovering from the holiday food/alcohol fest.

Spent some extra time cleaning up the kitchen & preparing fresh fruits & veggies to take to work tomorrow.

All in all a good day!

Nite nite.

Great job everyone so far keeping your focus

chelly don't worry that you have not got your kit yet. ww is all about learning to eat healthy and make good food choices Going over by .5 pts will not make you gain weight. If you are making healthy choices and are hungry ... eat.

jill, I too have been cooking more foods at home, not only to save $$ but I find what I make tastes better to me. and it is easy for me to take to work and heat up. Like tomorrow I will be dragging into work to chew on this week
a large bag of celery and walden farms peanut butter
3 apples
two of my breakfast burritos - work out to 1.5 pts each
and a container of taco soup which is two days worth of lunches (2 cups 4pts)

then for dinner it will be veggies and usually some fish, chicken or pork

Hey Nancy, what goes into your breakfast burritos? Really need some ideas on breakfast, I'm so sick of hard boiled eggs & oatmeal.......it travels well but doesn't do much for the tastebuds.

I totally look like I'm about to prepare a meal for 10 on Monday mornings. I take a huge grocery bag full of a weeks worth of breakfast & lunches w/ me & stock up our fridge. This week it's only 3 days worth tho! Our office closes at 1 on Wed & is closed for the rest of the week. Woo hoo!

Great Job Everyone!! I on the other hand, fell hard off the wagon and now im sitting here feeling like a big blob of fat. Im so mad at myself, I feel like I have ate everything in site for the past 2 weeks. I dont even want to step on the scale because I can tell I gained since my pants are tight. I dont know why I cant stay on track. Im so miserable with myself and I feel like all the hard work before Christmas has just gone down the drain. I really need to get my motivation back. Ive been on the WW site reading the new plan in hopes that will help, but it seems a little confusing on if you count points for the foods on the list or not? Yikes. I need to slap myself silly and get back on track.

Hang in there!! You can do it! As for the new plan, I count the points.

Hi everyone! I'm Jess and I have been doing WW at home off and on for over a year now. I hope to stick with the plan and see some major results this go around!

HI Everyone!
I think I really can do this Weight Watchers thing. With my 30 points I really do not get hungry. I mean sometimes I want to eat but I'm not really hungry, I'm sure you guys know the feeling. I'm gonna continue to post my menus until you guys tell me to stop, LOL, cause the input helps me

Breakfast:
Cheerios 2 points
Skim Milk 1/2 cup 1 point
String Cheese 1 point

Lunch:
Whataburger Grilled chicken sandwich (small bun, onion and mustard only) 6 points
Small Fry 5 points
Banana 2 points

Snack:
Slim Fast bar 3 points

Dinner:
2 Eggs, scrambled 6 points
With: Cheese 1 point
Ham 3 points
Onions and jalapenos 0 points
Green Beans 0 points

Snack:
Skinny Cow Ice Cream 2 points

Also I have some baby carrotts if I get hungry at any other time (1 point)

So 32 points, possibly 33 if I end up eating the carrotts. So I will be using a few flex points.
Tomorrow will be hard, we are having dinner at Applebee's with some friends. I don't like the WW options on the menu. Do you think it would be really detrimental to my weight loss to just order a grilled chicken sandwich? I really can't see anything else on the menu that both looks good and is even remotely healthy! They really need to broaden their variety of sides! It's either fries or broccoli so I guess I will not have anything!!!!

Thanks,
Michelle

Nice to meet you Anna & Jess!

Working today......actually spending most of my day studing for an insurance exam I have to take on Wednesday. It's mind numbing.

Hey Anna, stop beating yourself up. Get on that scale, own it & move on. I had to do it too this weekend & was shocked to see .6 lb loss. I thought for sure I had gained since I ate/drank myself into a coma for 3 days.

Maybe it won't be as bad as you think!! But if it is, we're here to help you get back on track.

JR -- My breakfast burritos: 2 low carb, low calorie tortilla (don't remember the brand but they are small and have 50 cal and 9 or 12 gram of fiber so it works out to 0pts but I count two of them as 1pt).. Then the equivelant of two egg beaters (60 cal or 1 pt) chopped onion (0pts) 1 oz of protien for two torrtillas (1pt) then brown in the skillet--reheat in micro when I get to work.

These are filling and easy to carry around I know what you mean about Mondays carrying the food to the office. I usually have at least 3 days worth of breakfast, a 4 Cup container of soup I have made (2 days worth), a few apples, bag of celery, small containers of FF ranch or italian dressing, I keep a jar of walden farms peanut butter & carmel dip (0pts) in my frig at work to use on my celery and apples just for a change if I want it. Then I always have a few bags of 94% fat free popcorn and some fiber one bars in my desk. Then......are you tired of this grocery list yet?? then I found some 25 cal swiss miss cocoa mix that is great for the cold days. Then there are the days when I made to much the night before and it becomes my lunch the next day..ie 1/2 baked pototo, and 4 oz of pork--

Wow michelle a whataburger grilled sandwich is only 6pts? wish we had those around me

imnot...don't worry about falling hard I have fell so many times there are scars on the bottoms of my feet where I had to finally make myself stand on that @*@* scale...I hate this love/hate relationship with that thing

OMG I did the 1st part of the workout DVD that comes w/ the WW At Home package tonight & it almost KILLED me. I did not realize I was so out of shape! My legs, knees & back were hurting so badly I had to pause & sit down a bunch of times.

But I did finish it. I wasn't even sweating or breathing that hard, my legs just hurt. Thank god I quit smoking.

Hey Nancy! Thanks for the grocery list. I jotted down a few of those ideas for my next trip to the store.

Speaking of popcorn, anyone know how NOT to burn the small single serving bags? I just can't seem to get it right. I went through 2 bags last nite before I gave up & had Baked Lays instead.

Hello my name is Jill & I'm a scale-aholic. I'm really bad, weigh myself every day.

Nancy-It is a reasonable amount of points but on junior bun, no mayo, no oil on bun according to Dottie that's the points. i may have to do it once a week cause they have Wi-Fi there!
Jill- I don't even have a scale yet, LOL. I need to get one.

I had a fabulous dinner tonight! It WAS 10 points but it was /fabulous!! It was scrambled eggs with ham, tiny bit of cheddar, onions, jalapenos, ad tabasco!!! With a bowl of green beans it was really filling.

Jill I remember last months when I started using my workout dvd's .... the day after my first time I was so sore as a matter of fact I was so sore for days I could not work out again for almost a week. Then I was ok. But all last week I did not work out so I feel so yukki..(can't believe that is me talking) anyway I am hopeful to start back up again tomorrow I just could not muster the energy today. Part of the problem was I left work hungry and for me to work out after work is a big no no.

Michelle that is still so cool about the grilled chicken sandwitch. I looked at my dining out companion and for a reg sized grilled chick at whataburger it was like 10 pts

Well tonight I had some Cod and steamed yukon potatos I really made a pig out of my self and ate two pieces of fish. But it was so good and I was so hungry. So for today I had:

2 breakfast burittos 3pt
pinapple 2pt
taco soup 4pt
celery 0pts
cod 2 pieces 8pts
potato 3pts
Oil to cook with 1 pt

total 21 out of 20 pts for the day so I use a flex point
