Default Update

Hello All

Thanks to all that replied to post help for my son. The replies were filled with words of concern and care.

I wanted to let you all know I did not drop out.
I have been having such trouble with my knees and then
I caught that little virus that's been going around.

Well my son and I have been trying to at least watch what we eat(him not that much) and make some better choices. We did give a point value to our foods. I think that does make him see just how much he eats. So it may be beneficail in the long run.

Our one week weigh in results are as follows.

Son .5 down(better than a gain)
Me 3lbs down.

After that I was on line reading and got caught up in calorie counting sites. I have been doing that I will see the results for that tomorrow(weigh ins are Thur). This is my first time dealing with calories. I went back to a site I had joined awhile ago called The Daily Plate. It keeps track of your calories for you, it seems cool. I'll see how this goes and let you know.

As far as my son I think the best thing is what Cheryl mentioned. Keeping the right snacks in the house. That's basically what I have been doing with him. Cutting back on all the junk food.

Thanks for sharing and listening.

Circles - Celebrate your Victories!!! You guys are doing great

Try not to get discouraged - obviously what you're doing is working! Keep it up!

Setting small goals & rewards helps-it'll help keep you motivated, ie.,

- for every 5lbs down (for you) - get a $10 manicure

- for every 2lbs down (for your son) - get a comic book - or whatever he likes (I don't know about your boy, but mine loves anything nintendo & just yesterday we were at Value Village (used clothing&stuff store) and got a nintendo power magazine for $0.99 a good buy! (brand new is $7.99)

If you ever want to chat about things, feel free to PM me!

Take care & stay strong,
/Cheryl
