Default Newbie with questions

I am almost at the end of the first week of WW. I'm doing it at home because I can't afford the meetings at this time. I bought the books last year and that is what I am working from. Just out of curiosity, how much have most of you lost in the first month? I was put on a diuretic by my Dr. because my bp is a wee bit high. I'm thinking the diuretic would be an added bonus to the loss! *lol* Are any of you on diuretics and has it helped? Also, on the points....I have came up with some left over on a few days....is it important that we make all the points each and every day?

Disclaimer: This is my personal opinion.

People tell you over and over to eat all your points. HOWEVER, on the WW website there was an article about decreased metabolism due to decreased intake. They stated that the effect on your metabolism due to decreased intake is minimal in comparison with weight loss AND that it comes right back up, that "Starvation mode" is something next to a myth. It exsists but rarely.

That being said, I always end up with leftover points. And people keep telling me to eat all my points, but why am I going to consume MORE food when I'm satisfied and not at all hungry?

If you are feeling hungry or deprived, then yes... eat your points. Otherwise, in my humble opinion... listen to your body.

I didn't have much water weight to lose when I started weight watchers. Many people have a ton, I was already very active so I didn't have the stores that most people have.... so I only lost 6 pounds in the first month.

WW is very slow because it's about making healthy changes to your LIFE. It's a lifestyle change, not a diet. It can be very frustrating, but it does work and it will come off.

I can't answer about the diuretics for the above reasons lol. I don't store water except around the time of the month.
