I made a great find at the grocery store the other day. It's a cereal called Oreo O's, and wow is it tasty! 3/4 cup is 2 points, and it tastes just like Oreos! You may have had this around forever, sometimes we get stuff overseas much later, but I just wanted to get the word out in case you hadn't noticed it. I can't imagine it as a breakfast cereal, but as a dessert... mmmm!

Also new to me are Westbrae Natural Double Sesame Rice Cakes. Not the usual puffed styrofoam rounds, but square crackers with quite a bit of flavor. They're a surprising 1 point for 2 crackers, and they come in two other flavors (that I haven't tried yet, but I certainly will) Sesame Garlic and Sesame Teriyaki.

I love new treats.

Mmmm... Oreos.... Just in case anyone else likes the real thing, I've discoved that the low fat (-25% fat) brand of Oreo cookies are only 1 pt per cookie. So, depending on how many points you've got saved up for a treat, you may not have to try to stop at just one! :-)

Christine,

I didn't realize that. Do you know how many points it is for a regular one? (Just out of curiousity) Thanks for the info.

P.S I love your new name, and come post on the canadian thread

Thanks! My old name was cutsie... a little joke between my fiancee and I. It was all I could think of to put when I set up my account, but when I saw the little kids book about the engine I knew I had to change because it was perfect!

Sorry I don't have the info on regular Oreos. Usually I don't even have the lower fat ones in the house, but Steve thought he'd give them a try and help me out at the same time (by making a better choice). Well, he tried them and didn't like them - so now I've got a box of them in there that will hopefully stay quite full for a long time!

Default Oreos are all One Point: Regular or Low Fat

Oreos are one point per cookie for the low fat and one point per cookine for the regular. Hardly worth it, right? Fig Newtons are the same: one point low fat, one point regular.

But if I remember correctly, 3 RF Oreos are 3 points and 3 regular Oreos are 4 points. So the points saving comes in if you're going to eat more than a couple. It's been awhile since I've had either kind, though, since these are a real red light food for me.
