I like to get the blender out and make a 'shake' for breakfast. I usually freeze the fruit -- bananas, strawberries, peaches, blueberries seem to work best. When you have a banana that looks like it needs to be pitched. Peel it, break it into 1/3's and put it in a zip lock bag in the freezer. While people might comment when they open your freezer (HA) , it has saved me hundreds of dollars over the years as I always buy TOO much fruit. I add 1 c. skim milk, 1 frozen banana or other fruit, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a package or 2 of equal and ice cubes to the desired consistency. Depending on what you throw in there, I would say you can breakfast for 3-4 points. I have heard of other versions where you use a combination of yogurt/milk. Strawberries are in season now so if you overbuy, this is a great way to use them up!

Good blending!

Hi all;
another good tip I eat for breakfast is low fat english muffin (1pt) 1/2 cup egg beaters (2pts) and 2 morningstar soy sausages 2 for (1pt) 4pts total..or I'll sometimes make a sweet potatoe for breakfast..that really fills me up for the morning..3pts..or 1 cup oatmeal (3pts) with 1 cup apple sauce in it (1pt) total 4pts...
Hope that helps..

Default Better N Peanut Butter

googies,

I found Better n Peanut Butter at Trader Joes, as well as some markets. I think Stater Brothers and Albertson's. Maybe a health food store??

Hope you can find it.

Default I tried an experiment

In the recipe listed above where you mash the boiled eggs with cream cheese:

I did try using the Egg Whites (or Egg Beaters) in the cartons instead of eggs. 1/2 cup equals 2 eggs and was one point instead of 4. It was a little different texture, but the change of taste was negligible.

Instead of 6 points for the whole deal, it came out to a great 3 point breakfast that really sticks with me.

Here is my favorite, filling breakfast:

1 cup of puffed wheat - 1 point
1/2 cup blueberries - .5 point
1/2 cup of lowfat vanilla soy milk - 1 point

Total - 2.5 points

Top it off with a 2 point hard boiled egg for protein for a toal of 4.5 points! Yum! Fills me up! I then have one or two pieces of fruit for a snack mid-morning.

Default Low Points Sugary Snack

Yes, W W says 3 pts max for sugary snack/desert. But does anyone else notice most of the frozen deserts are 4 pts.

So if the dessert you want is more, you have to save up those particular points and only have it occasionally, not every day.

WW GUIDELINES for the current program.NO LONGER GIVES A points amount..guideline # 6 (page 18) of my book suggest limiting alcohol, high sugar and hi fat foods.

I always ask my members...Did you ever lose weight eating cookies everyday? ENOUGH said.do what works for you!

I liked all the breakfast ideas and got a few for myself.

The most satisfying breakfast I eat is.....any flavored Dannon Yogurt with Raisin Bran in it..it needs to be mixed in a bowl and is 5 points..very filling!

I also try to have a variety...despite the fact I could eat it every morning. You are less likely to get bored with variety.

You are not looking in the same book I am. Look at the Week 6 - Eating the Right Mix booklet. There it is. I got it in March so it is for the current program.

Default breakfast

For breakfast
I cup puffed rice 1pt
1cup skim milk 2pts
1 fruit 1pt
Total 5pts

If I don't have my milk for breakfast, I get so hungry all day.
The milk seems to satisfy my hunger.
