Default Extra 35 points for the week????

I have been doing WW Online and having 22 points a day. However i've read on here that you are allowed an extra 35 points for the week is this only Core? or is it also for the Points Plan(this is the one i'm doing). Is this for everyone? I'm just a bit confused cos there is nothing about this on my points tracker.

Default 35 Points

The 35 points are for both plans. They are a "back up" or "splurge." You are not required to use all of them, like your daily points value. You must use all of your daily points, but you can choice to use all, a few few, or none of your 35 points. Those point are for the entire week. Once that week is over, those extra points go away, and you begin again with 35. They do not "roll over." I hope that answers your question. Also, exercise points can give you additional points, which you can choice to use or not. Good luck with your journey and WW is an excellent plan to take you to your goal!!

I'm gonna respectifully disagree with this statement. They are a part of the program...not a back up part or a splurge part. They are merely a part of the program and a person has the option of using them or not using them. I don't use them for splurges or as a back up. I use of of them every week and sometimes for very healthy foods and sometimes for not.

So on CORE then you'd have 56 points? I'm confused. I've also read that these points are only for people on maintenance...i feel sso tempted to eat into these points now but i'm worried i'll gain.

SlimmingWorldChick - On Core you still only have 35 "extra" points a week. On Flex, people can eat any foods, not just those from the core list, but they have a target number of points they aim for. Flex members as well have 35 "extra points" per week.

So, each plan has 35 "extra" points.

Personally, I try not to dip into my extra points but this is my second time on WW and my first time if I dipped into too many of my extra points I found that I wouldn't lose any weight. This time around is the same thing for me. HOWEVER, there are some people who have posted on this site that say they use all of their 35 extra points every week and still lose weight. I really think it depends on you individually and how your body is. Once you learn what works as far as using the extra points, then try to stick around that number. Personally, I try not to use more than 10 of my extra points each week.

Slimming, like modkittn said each plan has the same WEEKLY points in the amount of 35.

For me when I am losing I got 24 daily PLUS 3-5 activity points on days I earn them PLUS the 35 weekly..on maintenance I get 34-35 daily PLUS 3-5 activity points on days I earn them plus the 35 weekly.

What I do is divide them up evenly through the week (5 a day) and if I use them fine, if I don't I roll over what I didn't use to the next day, if I use more then I take away evenly from the remaining days so I still have some every day. But this is just my day.

YOu can use all 35 in 1 day if you want. You can choose to use none. You can choose to use only a few or you can choose to use a lot but not all of them. They are totally optional usage

You can dip into your 35 if you want, it's hard some days to stay at our daily amount and I like how WW now has some extra points you can dip into if you want. When I first did WW they didn't have this and I felt much more guilty when I went over on points then I do now.

I try to use less then 10 of my flex points each week but it's good to know there are 35 there just incase.

I use them. I usually use about half. I use them on everything, sometimes it's for good stuff, like a late evening snack of fruit or almonds. Sometimes it's because I feel like treating myself to a little bit of chocolate.

I never use my activity points though, but that could be because I don't use all my flex points.

I'm still losing 1-2lbs per week using my points. Which is right where I want to be.

OoOoOo... I didn't know all this either... so it should be quite interesting. I've never gone over my points limit unless I have booster points so I'm not sure whether I'll use them unless I have lets say a party to enjoy. At least I know they're there just in case!

The issue of 35 bonus points sure seems to be controversial! They are there as part of the plan to be used. Whether or not you choose to use them really is up to you. Some people view them as emergency or splurge points, because if they plan them into their diet regularly, weight loss stops! I unfortunately am in this category.
Others, like Kelly S, can plan them into their diet without ill effect. Good on those of you who can!
You will find out which "side" you fall on after you try the program for a while! Just don't expect that you can plan the points into your planning and have no consequence. You MIGHT, or you might NOT. So, give it a try, and don't get discouraged if your weight loss stops if you plan in these points, because it isn't a "faulty program" but your unique metabolism at work. And don't let ANYONE tell you what points (other than the daily amounts set out the in program!) your body can or can't handle, as the basis of the program is personal choice, responsibility, and accountability. You'll have to wear the consequences of your food choices, regardless of what I or anyone else tell you!!!
Keep us updated!

I use most of them every week so far. I also use my AP's. I don't want to feel deprived as that has been my downfall in the past. I also want to get as much of the needed food (according to the food guide) into my body in the day. I am still loosing, maybe more slowly, but still loosing. I want this to be for life. I need those extra points so I don't feel like I have to eat preprocessed low point foods. I want to continue to eat salmon, almonds, dairy, etc. all which are healthy but have higher points. I just want to learn to eat appropriate portions and that is where point accountability comes in. Somedays I want to have icecream, but a scoop, not the whole container.

Do what is right for you. WW is so flexible that everyone does what feels right for them (within the set parameters of the plan) and whatever allows them to continue to loose.

are you a member of the weightwatchers site? if you are, i'm surprised you didn't find out about the 35 flex points. when you joined the site, it should have taken you through an intro about the basics of the plan which includes a description of the flex points. if you didn't go through that info, go back to the site and read more about the plan basics. and the points tracker on the WW site tracks how many flex points you've used if you're entering your foods into the tracker.

how i use my flex points... i aim for my 22 daily points, but if i run out and i'm still hungry, i use a few. if i'm going out to eat out or going to a family gathering, i'll probably need a few extra. it's best not to deprive yourself. i rarely use all 35, but actually this week i'll use most of them. everyone's metabolism is different. start slow. maybe add 1-2 points a day for a week and see what happens. if you still lose, go ahead and use more the next week.

You need to go back and take the tour again. It is also on you food tracker so look at it closer. If you go over your points, it automatically deducts from your wpa. If you enter your exercise, it will use those points then wpas for whatever you are over.

As I recall from quite a few years ago, WW used to give you a range of daily points (and the range was about 4 or 5 points) -- so it sounds like they have now just decided to give you a minimum number of points and have turned the range into optionals.

Default 35 points of French Roast

I literally just found out about the 35 points extra a week and I almost feel like they are a blessing in disguise. But I am wondering if i used the same amount of those points a day if it still works the same.

Here is my dilemma - I love me some coffee. I can not survive with the fat free half and half and splenda in my $12 a bag French Roast. It is like drinking a box of wine vs. a vintage bottle to me. I was just using those six points for my breakfast points with a banana but have since been eating a balance breakfast and my delicious cup of joe.

Does it matter?
