Default fact or myth

I have been told that weight loss shows up on the scale about 10 days before it shows up on your body.....that you can see on the scale that you have lost weight, before you notice a change in how your clothing fits.

Is this a fact or a myth?

Thanks

Does it really matter when it shows up? I don't understand the quandry.

If the scale shows a loss, where are you going to find it? Much of our losses show up where the fat was undetectable to begin with. For example: Did you notice the fat loss around your kidneys? Did you notice the fat loss on your scalp? Are you noticing the loss at your feet? Not likely, until your shoes get really big.

The point is, if the scale shows it, then you've lost the weight, and depending on how much you have to lose, it may not show up in your new size (your perimeter) but may show up in more important places like the lining of your heart, and other internal organs, which are also padded w/ fat depending on your level of overweight.

However you are losing, you are getting smaller. The fact remains that whenever you lose, it may not always show up as something you can SEE because so much of it is not subcutaneous (that is, under the skin) but waaay below that, internally.

Fact or fiction? Who knows... The point is, what matters is that the numbers at the scale are approaching the healthy level. :-)
