Default Help!

Weekends are the worst for me. I can stay OP like a champ all week. But once the weekend hits and I at home, especially when it cold and rainy like today and I'm by myself... it's pig-out city! And I don't drink nearly enough water.

Please, please, some words of advice and encouragement to keep me from running to the fridge a thousand times today!

I've been up since 8 and had two pieces of WW bread with B&B. I'm almost afraid to eat for fear of "kicking off" the frenzy. Know what I mean? It especially sucks because I weigh in on Monday mornings.

Maggie, A couple of things help me (though weekends are my hardest times too)--

#1--Get the heck out of your house!!!! Since it's rainy, maybe go to the mall (but not the food court or Target, or anywhere that you're far away from the fridge!

#2--Plan. Plan out what you're going to eat for the day, and stick to it!!

You can do it, my dear!!

Saturdays are my hardest days. What I do is eat a very substantial breakfast- I use a lot of my points for the morning. Then, I might snack all day, but on low point foods- mini bags of popcorn are great in this situation! I usually will eat a sandwhich for dinner (I *love* sandwhiches).

Then, I either clean the house or play on the computer. While on the computer, my goal is to drink all of my water.

I think wknds are the worst for most people. I love to cook and have no time during the week to make anything too complicated. I save the yummiest recipes for the wknd and I go at it like crazy. My husband thinks I go crazy cooking on the wknds.

I don't pick while I eat, I drink my water instead. I roast vegetables. I'm making a spinach lasagna today, some hummus, maybe some low fat muffins. The point is keep yourself busy doing what you enjoy.

For me it works great b/c not only do I keep busy, but then I have plenty of low point/yummy food around.

Go to the book store, do crossword puzzles, or a jigsaw puzzle, read a book, watch a movie you love, go on the computer, or go to the movies (hold the snacks).

Good luck!

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone. They're all very good. But I still blew it, blew it, blew it. I did OK at home but then went out to dinner with friends. I had some butterfinger fries (yes, French with butter and garlic), some buffalo shrimp and half a roast beef sandwich, then some cheese cake. Ugh. Well, I just have to make sure not to let the continue into tomorrow and the first few days of the week. If I manage to only splurge on one meal over the weekend and stop it right there, I should do OK. Tomorrow should be OK, since I plan on going into the office. Ha -- you know you're freaky about dieting when you look forward to going into work on Sunday just so you don't pig out at home!
