Fab 40's and Fit 50's #178

Hi
Had to work late on Tuesday, so I won't be weighing in until Saturday morning.
Hope everyone is well...stop in and say hi!

50 + and back to WW

Lost 2 lbs this week so far :) :) Can't wait till Mon to see what I actually lost this week. Having WW buddy spend the weekend with me and we are going to cook "good" stuff and bag it up for lunches and dinners. I am really ready to get this done this year. :carrot:

Rios426 01-19-2006 07:58 PM

Hi Girls:wave:

Welcome to our group Jellybean. Congrats on your 2 lb. loss. It's nice when you plan ahead & cook for a few days. Have fun with your buddy.

Jen, I hope the rest of the girls come back. I ran into someone I haven't seen in awhile & I noticed she looked thin. I told her she looked great & she said she lost 22 lbs. on WW. I have to get back to meetings.

Just stopped in to say hi. Be back this weekend.

Love,
Es

Dee,
It was good seeing another Steeler Fan. I got my stadium blanket, Terrible towels from the 70's and 2000's. I don't know if I want Sunday to come yet. I hope I don't have a heart attack like the guy they profiled on Inside the NFL. He was in a bar in Pitts and when Bettis fumbled the ball he had a heart attack. Literally. It's crazy.
Here we go Steelers... Here we go!!!!!!

Jellybean,
Welcome and Congrats! Great plan. YES! This is the year!

Jen,
HI!!!! Good luck Sat.

My 2 boys want to lose a little weight. Brandon is 6'0 tall and wants to lose about 20 pounds and Bradley is about 5'5 and needs to lose about 20 pounds also. I started keeping track of their points. They weighed in last week and Brandon lost 5.5 and Bradley lost 2.5. They were so excited. They eat very healthy foods and they love it. They can't get over the snacks they can eat. They love baked chips, flavored rice cakes, pretzels and I let them have rice krispie treats and any treat that is 3 or less points per serving. I fix egg white omelets, egg Mcmuffins WW style with Bruce's new egg maker etc...
It is so much easier staying on program while they are doing it too. 4 of us in 1 family.

Luv you guys,
Terri

Jenny523 01-19-2006 09:12 PM

Terri,
Having the guys on program is SO AWESOME! What fun it must be...there's no doubt you'll all be successful.
How old are they (again?) I cannot even believe Brandon is 6 feet tall! My Joey ended up at 6'2" and we don't know where he got that from.
It's so great that they really want to follow it, and they're learning healthy habits at the same time. I cannot believe how much junk is on the market facing the kids everywhere they go.
You must be proud...and rightfully so. Congrats to them on their losses :cp:

hugs,
~Jen

points 01-19-2006 09:26 PM

Thanks so much Jen. Brandon is 14 (15 in April) and Bradley is 12 (13 in March). His shoe size is 10. Bruce's is 9.
Gotta go watch My name is Earl. The boys love it.
It is much easier with them and the snacks are lasting.

I keep on forgetting to post this photo of the boys with Santa, taken last month.
The Santa at their mall is the best! Wears his own clothes...very authentic looking.

dpadro 01-20-2006 10:57 AM

Good morning my buds:

Jen - The boys are soooooo good looking, but I can't get over how big they are - especially Matthew, since I remember when you were saying he was like 4 months old:p Time is going by tooooo fast. Sounds like the wedding plans are going full on now - it will be here before you know it. Pale pink and champagne - will be beautiful, love that combination. Cool on the "Martha Stewart" friend - everyone should have one of those, lol.

Terri - How great that the boys are learning such good eating habits and :bravo: on their losses, so cool. I wouldn't know the Steelers from the Borrowers, :p but hope they win too, lololol.

Jellybeen - :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:! on your 2 lbs loss, great job!

Es, Amiga - How are you doing? Are you still getting pt for your back problem. Hope you're feeling a lot better. How has it been having David back home. He's already been back more than a week right? Are you spoiling him?:)

Ruthie - :bravo: on your fantastic loss - great job! One day at a time, is right.

Hi Sandy, how are you doing?

Hi ZoeGirl (come out, come out, wherever you are  ).

Well, I lost 1 lb. this week, but I'll take it and I won't even say "ONLY", lol. Alana bought an exercise tape, which is from the show "The Biggest Losers". We've been doing it since last Monday - it has various routines, from "light to intense", well.......let me tell you, the "light" routine was pretty "intense" to us, lol. We were sweating our butts off. Alana almost fainted after doing 57 jumping jacks! I wasn't crazy, there was no way I was doing even 7 jumping jacks my first time doing the tape - that's crazy Yo, lololol! Anyway, we'll see this Monday if it did some good, weight wise. What I really like about it is the exercise is done by the people who were on the show, so its not a bunch of skinny, toned people - its real people with real weight problems. Alana and I used to watch the show, so we know the people on it.

Whoops, I gotta run. I'm only here until 3:00 today - have to rush home and get ready for church. Alana and I are being baptized tonight and the whole family is coming to the ceremony. Afterwards, Lisa is having a little coffee/dessert celebration.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hugs,
Dianne

jellybeen 01-20-2006 02:57 PM

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I just finished my treadmill. Had a lunch of homemade chicken and wildrice soup YUM and about to finish my water. I'll probably get extra water in today.

Company coming tonight so have been cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I'm pooped but the house is looking good. Got to finish the vaccum before granddaughter wakes up. Oops.....too late.

Jen,
The boys are so big and cute. I used to dress my 2 boys alike once in awhile. I miss that. Give them a hug from me.

Dianne,
I would pee myself if I did 7 jumping jacks.
I can imagine how hard the Biggest Loser would be. They lose some serious high amounts of weight in a week on that show. I love the befores and afters but it seems like a lot really fast. Be careful. That is good that you 2 are doing it together.

Steelers and Borrowers. Too funny!!!!!!

Jellybean,
Have fun with your company. Hope the baby wasn't grumpy. Housework is a good workout.

Well gotta go pick up the boys.
Luv ya,
Terri

Jenny523 01-20-2006 06:34 PM

Jellybeen,
Welcome! Good going on the exercise. Keep it up! How old is your grandaughter?

Diane,
Congrats on the loss! :cp:
How wonderful that you're being baptized; have you joined a new church/religion, or is it something that you've been working on? My best wishes to you and Alana.
Jumping jacks? I don't think I've even done one since high school! And that was to a record called, "Go, You Chicken Fat, Go!"

Terri,
I'll be rooting for the Steelers this weekend. :cheer: Good luck!!!!

TGIF!!!! :carrot: It's been a long, stressful week, and I'm soooo glad to sit back and relax. Joe is at his yearly fishing expo show with Joey and my brother, Tim...so I can just veg tonight. We're having a rain/snow/sleet storm with anywhere from 2 to 6 inches of snow expected, depending on who you listen to

Hi to Es, Sandy, Ruthie, LJ....

~Jen

points 01-21-2006 02:01 PM

Jen,
OOH! Relax and enjoy the coziness. I used to love when it snowed and I had nowhere to go. Got a good book?
I am reading 2 at the moment. I am reading Anita Shreve's All He Ever Wanted. I am also reading "Skinny Bit**" by Kim Barnouin, Rory Freedman.
I wasn't sure if I could write the whole title. It is a tough love approach to dieting. They tell it like it is. There are mixed reviews on this book but I am going to try it. Here is one review:

The only people who won't like reading this book are the people who are TOO sensitive to belief the truth. They are the people who hate skinny bitc*es. Everyone complains about their weight but does nothing about it, this book calls for action. The tips are great, the information is beneficial, and I feel like a better person for reading it. I want to be a skinny bitc* . . . who doesn't?

Brittany took it to work and I will start it tonight.

Have a great weekend.
Luv ya,
Terri

Jenny523 01-21-2006 05:41 PM

We ended up getting about 6 inches of a wet, beautiful snow. Every branch and twig is coated. It was a beautiful morning when the sun came out. About 15 miles north of us got 11 inches!!! We've had a mild winter so far, so can't complain. It will be gone fairly soon, with sunny days in the upper 30's ahead of us.
I got up early and stitched for a while on the wedding piece I'm making for Ili and Joey.

Terri,
that book sounds interesting. Tells it like it is, huh? That's what I need! Currently I'm reading the new paperback by Patricial Cornwall, forgot it's name..as well as the new Beatles biography I received for Christmas from Joe.

HI to everyone
~Jen

Rios426 01-21-2006 08:46 PM

Hi Girls:wave:

I'm so happy to see all these posts.

Jen, I love the snow. Enjoy it. Spring will be here before you know it. The boys are so cute. They look so much alike. Hope you're getting some R & R.

Jellybean, hope you had a nice time yesterday. You had friends over? I haven't made homemade chicken soup in so long. It's so good :T & healthy.

Dianne, I got baptized in 1986. My whole family got baptized. We went to Sunken Meadow. It's a beautiful thing. My back still hurts. I go for PT 3x a week. I have to cool it with the pain meds. I depend on them too much. It's nice having Dave here. You know us mom's, we spoil our kids, no matter how old they are.

Terri, I want to read the Star Jones book. The one from The View. It's called Shine. Your family is so cute. It must be so nice doing WW with the family. Say hi to Britt.

I'm tired. Going to watch the Lifetime channel. Have a good night my friends.

Hugs, Es

Hope you had fun, Terri!

points 01-23-2006 03:31 PM

Jen,
WE HAD A BLAST! We were dancing. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Bradley and I had on our Bettis and Roethlisberger jerseys and went to the store and there were like 5 other people in there with jerseys (Polamalu, 2 Wards, Bettis and Porter). I mean it is a little store here in northern Alabama. 20 customers total and 7 of us had Steeler jerseys on. John Stallworth ( Hall of Famer that played with the Steelers in the 70's when they won 4 Super Bowls) lives here in Madison, Al. He grew up here and went to college at Alabama A & M. Brittany and I met him at Publix (grocery store) last year. We got his autograph. So exciting.

Enjoy the snow.

Es,
Let me know how the book is. Let me know if she says how she lost her weight. Take care of your back.

GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luv ya guys,
Terri

Jenny523 01-23-2006 06:37 PM

Forgot to post that I had a 1 pound gain at weigh in, but totally deserved it :rollpin: and pretty much saw it coming. Went out today and stocked the frig with veggies ( which I was neglecting ) and have been drinking lots of water today. I'm also resuming journalling. It's amazing how the simple parts of the program will all come into play if you neglect them!

Terri,
That is so cool.....should I even say that we all had our Urlacher jerseys on the day we lost? I hope you have a fantastic time watching your guys win the Super Bowl!!! I'm soooo glad that Carolina lost  and am rooting for the Steelers all the way.

HI to everyone

Hey girls,

Sorry, I haven't been hiding, just never seem to stop long enough to get back on the computer. So, I bought a can of soup to work, ate lunch here and have a few extra minutes to kill before I go back to work. Well I forgot to weigh on Monday, so I'll wait til next Monday to report! I need to stock up on the veggies again, because I haven't been doing so good the last couple of days. Maybe that is why I forgot to weigh!! LOL

TERRI, how great to have the boys following WW with you. I can see how that would make following this so much easier. How is the book? Sounds like a book I'd like to read.

JEN, it is good seeing the Steelers doing so well. I remember the glory days, was that in the 70's!!! Terry Bradshaw was the quarterback in those days, he grew up in Shreveport, LA. His family go to the same church I use to attend. Oh, I also live right off of the Terry Bradshaw Passway.

I know you mentioned a wedding, but I never thought about your son and Iliana. How long have they been together now?

Oops, time to go back to work. Take care and I'll make a better effort at staying in touch!

Ruth

Hi Es, Diane, and welcome jellybeans.

Sandancy 01-26-2006 08:32 AM

Hi buddies:wave:

I have been finding a lot of ways to keep busy lately, but I haven't been visiting with my friends here and that leaves a real gap, I missed you all the past couple of weeks.

I joined 2 task forces at my church, one is to provide better child care for young parents so they can participate more easily, and the other is for building membership through being more supportive to newcomers and helping them to get to know the church.
I started to help with the costume prep again at the high school for the musical. Greg has graduated, but I really enjoy the team effort and Greg's girl friend is still there as a senior this year.
I signed up at the local community college to start studying web design. I am hoping to update my computer skills so that I can go back to work full time. Mike is still job hunting, but nothing yet, except for a call from a headhunter yesterday who was encouraging.

Greg had a really good first term at college, he earned a 3.5!
Dave is keeping busy nights taking Improv classes and sketch writing. Weekends he is mostly with his girlfriend, Kelly, so we barely see him.

Jen, I am really excited to hear about the plans for the wedding, keep us posted. By the way I ordered lots of seeds at a discount for this coming spring, I can hardly wait. If you want to know the details, I would be glad to share the specifics.
Terri, Now that the Pats are out of it for this year, I will help you cheer for the Steelers too:carrot: But don't tell Mike.
Es, Sweetie, I hope your back improves soon, I have had lots of trouble with back pain so I really empathize. PT can work wonders, but it takes some time and lots of work doing the exercises they prescribe.

Hi Diane, Ruth, and welcome Jellybeen.

Luv Ya's

points 01-27-2006 04:56 PM

Jen,
You'll get that off plus some. Thanks for cheering the Steelers on. Getting nervous. I will enjoy the 2 weeks prior with all the hype. I am wearing the AFC champions going to the Superbowl shirt my sister bought me. She went to the mall the next day and bought me one. She said that when she went into the Steeler store the salesgirl just pointed and she got the 2 of the last 4.

Sandy,
Sounds like your boys are doing great. Good luck with everything.
I understand about Mike not liking the Steelers. I am always for the AFC too unless I really like the other team like the Bears.

Ruth,
Hi. The boys are doing great. I haven't had a chance to read it yet. Britts has it. I will have to sneak it tonight. That is me that loves the Steelers. That is so cool about Terry Bradshaw. I loved the 70 Steelers. Glory Days is right.

Have a great weekend guys.
Luv ya,
Terri

Jenny523 01-27-2006 07:12 PM

Hi everyone,
Played hookey today  and the day really flew by much too quickly! Got some organizing done, some laundry, etc....it never ends.

Jess came over to clean, and brought the boys with her, as they had the day off of school. We had previously made arrangements for them to spend the weekend with us, so it worked out perfectly. They're here now, playing a board game with Joe while dinner cooks. We'll have them till Sunday afternoon, then drive out to Jess's and meet them at a favorite pizza pub to have dinner and turn over the boys  It's been a while since Joe and I had them to ourselves, and we're having a great visit.

Ruth,
Joey and Iliana have been together for almost 3 years now. They became engaged last May, will be married on May 28, 2006...just 17 weeks to go! The wedding will be in a neighboring town at a historic estate, guest list of 120. Matt is ring bearer, Brandon is an usher. Weather permitting the ceremony will be outdoors in a gazebo.

I have begun the search for my outfit. Am leaning towards the "carwash" pants, kind of glitzy outfits..with a cami top and jacket, but who knows, may find a great dress. I am NOT a sequin/sparkle type of person, so it's difficult to know what I want. I will know when I try them all on  Next Saturday I'm going shopping with a friend; will also make trips with Jess and my SIL, Caroline. I trust their honest opinions and taste. Will I be able to shop off the rack and avoid plus sizes? No :( but at least I can look at 20's instead of 26's!!! :D And...if need be, I can always have anything I purchase now taken in. :crossed:

Terri,
I'm going to miss football this weekend! Next week will be a blast, can't wait! Will you watch the Superbowl at home? We usually have a mini party...the only bad thing is that it's so late, and there's work the next day.

Sandy,
You are so involved with your church, that's inspiring. Can't keep away from the school theatre, huh? I'm sure they will miss you as their seamstress when you eventually decide to stop. Good luck to Mike, something will come up. The guys sound like they're doing great. I felt a twinge of jealousy when I read that you're taking a class. I think it's time for me to do so also...I love taking classes and it's been a while.
Let me know what you're planting! I love to know what others are doing. Our plans have been simplified to a veggie garden and some annuals. Growing the veggies for just the 2 of us means we can cut down a lot, and still give away tomatoes to "gardenless" friends and neighbors. The perennials are our focus for the next few years. Will we ever get it right and be satisfied? I think not!

Es,
How is your back and are you doing ok without the pain meds? I've been thinking of you often. I imagine you're loving having David at home ! I still think our kids were gone far too early. Let us know how you're doing.

Am writing a book here! HI  Dianne, LJ, jellybeen, and anyone else who's here.
Have a fantastic weekend!

~Jen

Rios426 01-28-2006 09:12 AM

Hi Girls:wave:

My back is a tiny bit better. I made my appt for the MRI, 2/13, Pete's birthday. :balloons: The PT helps. Still taking pain meds:(

Jen, I hope you find your outfit soon. Time is going by too fast. I never heard of carwash pants. Have fun with the boys. Having Dave here is nice. I think he'll be staying with us for quite awhile. Renting is sky high right now. He'll probably have to find a PT job.

Sandy, you're one busy little bee. High 5 to Greg for doing so well.:) How long has Dave been with Kelly?

Ruth, glad to hear from you. Are you on Flex or Core? I'm going to try Core for 1 week.

Terri, how are the boys doing with WW? Hi Brittany. :)

Hi Amiga. Stop by & let us know how you're doing. I miss you.

Today we're going to the chinese buffet:sumo: then later on we're going to visit Pete's brother. He moved up the block. He didn't like Florida. His wife is 20 yrs. older than him.:yikes: Her son's(2) are his age! They've been together 25 yrs. I feel bad cause he'll never have kids of his own. I have mixed emotions about their relationship but then again it's none of my business.

Have a great weekend guys.

Luv u's,
Es

Jen,
Getting nervous Jen. I have been watching all the hype. FUN!!!!!
We will watch it at home for sure. We have a mini party too. I fix ww friendly foods and ones not so friendly. We were going to have a few Steeler fan friends over. We'll see.
I can't wait til you get your outfit. I want to see a family portrait and then a close up one of Matthew and Brandon. You must be so excited.

Es,
The boys are doing so well. Brandon has lost 13.6 lbs. since Jan. 7.
Bradley lost 8. They are determined. They look it too. Brandon was starting to look like he had a beer gut and now he's almost flat. They are so excited. They get a CD when they get their 10%. They have it picked out already. Britt says hi back.

Gotta go. Watching the NFL Network and the Steelers press conference.
The Steelers are taking the "BUS" home.

TTYL,
Terri

Jenny523 01-31-2006 08:07 AM

Terri,
Your guys are doing so well! Give them each a High Five for me :dancer:
Sunday will be fun...you will have a blast! My SIL is rooting for Seattle; we're not sure if they'll be here, since it's such a late night on a school night...but if they are, we'll have fun razzing each other.

Apparently your boys are losing the weight that I'm not.. wah wah wah. Ok, enough of that. Have only myself to blame. It's time to re-commit and see it through. I have come too far this time to backslide!

We had a good time with the boys....I cooked all weekend, it seems! Hours of playing board games, which they both love...some shopping for them...the weekend went by fast.

How is everyone else? It's quiet in here! Es, hope your back is better each day. Sandy, did you start your class yet? Dianne and Ruth, Hi!

Weigh in tonight... :crossed: for a SMALL gain!
~Jen

Sandancy 01-31-2006 08:44 AM

Hi Buddies

We brought Greg back to school yesterday. It is a 90 mile trip each way, so it is not too bad. We left here at 12:30, got to the school by 2:15, stopped for pizza for lunch, helped Greg to lug everything up to the dorm, and we left for home. We were back home by 5 PM.
Greg and Sara will really miss each other, but they are both smart kids and I think they have a handle on how important school is for their futures.
Terri, That is so terrific that your whole family is working on WW and eating healthy together. Your boys are so motivated :bravo: We are going to a Superbowl party too, and the host is a Steelers fan. Mike is only rooting for Seattle because I guess it is their first time.
Es, Dave started seeing Kelly early in the fall, probably October. They are both 24, and it seems as if they got serious pretty quickly. He is trying to find a better job within Lahey Medical. Right now he really can't afford to move out. I am really hopeful for him.
Jen, I started my class last week. It is twice a week on Tues and Thurs. Quite a mix of ages from 19 to 69. The room is a lab where we each have a computer to use, and we are rapidly picking up on web page design.
I will really enjoy it, but it is a long time since someone told me that class attendance counts for my grade
My brother came over last night to install some new software on our computers. He is a really gung-ho engineer and is really up on the latest technology. He has been recommmending that Mike and I learn some of the newest Web programming languages so that we can get back into the job market. I agree with my brother that we need to keep up with the changes, and I am sorry to say that Mike and I had kind of a blowout after he left. I think that since Mike was so valued for 20 years in the same place, he still was expecting that a new job would just appear. I really need some advice on how to help Mike move forward. He spends hours everyday just playing computer games and his severance will run out soon.
In the meantime my WW efforts are lagging, but I hope to have a better week starting today.

Luv ya's all,
Hi Dianne, Ruth and all our MIA's

Jen,
I'm so glad you had a good time. Those boys sound so cute. You are so fortunate to have them close. Have fun at your get together Sunday.
I am getting nervous. Think if it were the Bears and the Steelers.

Sandy,
There are a lot of people that say they are for the Seahawks because Pittsburgh already has 4 Super Bowls (last one in 1980) but the funny thing is only 1 player on the entire Steeler team has ever been to a Super Bowl. Seahawk's coach has won one and lost one with another team and Cower has lost one (1996) with the Steelers. I think the 4 Super Bowl wins kind of hangs over this young team. I know what they mean though because the fans got to experience it before. At least the fans that are older than about 35.
I hope Mike finds something soon.

TTYL,
Terri

Well, the weekend is almost here, I hope everyone enjoys the Super Bowl.

Talk to you later.

Terri,
GO STEELERS !!!!! :cheer: Hope you have a great time watching the game! It will be fun.

I found a dress! Went to a very nice boutique-type store that specializes in formal/special occasion clothing. A friend at work recommended the shop. I asked her and my sister-in-law to accompany me, as I value their taste and opinions...they tell it like it is and have a good eye for fashion. I tried on a couple, and when I put it on I knew it was the one. It's a long sleeveless crepe dress with sheer jacket, "bling" edging on the jacket. It's what we all called a "jenny" dress, just my taste, not too ruffly or "frou frou"...but very dressy and pretty. The weirdest part of this all is that it's purple....came only in black or purple, and of course black is out of the question. I also found shoes, which I was worried about because of my foot problems, can't wear heels. They're flat sandals, very delicate and strappy, with a few rhinestones to make them perfect when they peek out from under the dress. They're so comfortable, like walking barefoot.
So, I'm doing the happy dance today!

We had dinner at Iliana's home in the city yesterday (she lives with her Mom) and had a great time. Joey is turning into a very good cook, and she prefers clean-up so it's a good match

HI  to all...enjoy your Sunday,
luv,

short & sassy 02-06-2006 12:02 AM

Hello everyone,

Well, Maurice and I actually watched the game. He isn't big into sports, but I wanted to watch it. I was rooting for the Steelers and I'm glad they won by more than 7 points, because that one touch down sure was questionable.

Did everyone have a good weekend? I've begun letting my grandchildren spend the night. Some of them have actually lived with me off and on and well my relationship with my older daughter is strained and I haven't been spending much time with her or her children since her oldest decided to move to Baton Rouge with his father last year. So now that none of them are living with me, I've decided to dedicate Friday night to having over one grandchild to spend the night. This Friday four year old Dylan, spent the night with us. He is a wholly terror around his parents but while at my house he was good as gold. I think we will have 3 year old Brittany over this coming Friday. She has never spent the night away from home, so we will just have to see how it goes!

It's getting late and I'm tired. I spent the day trying to straighten up my "junk" room. It actually is my computer/workout room, but since we have moved, it has been the room that everything that I own and didn't have a place for ended up. I think by next weekend I will be able to actually work out in here. I've neatly piled most of the junk into the closet, which has left the room clear of most of the clutter. I still have pictures to put on the wall and to rearrange the treadmill and home gym. Then I'll be ready for action.

Well, I'm tired and rambling, so I'm off to bed.

Talk to you ladies later.

Goodnite,
Ruth

Let me get this off my chest!

WE WON!!!!! We are the World Champs!!

Jen,
The dress sounds lovely. You must send a picture. I am so glad you like it.

Ruth,
I know what you mean about that touchdown (I was unsure but hey I'll keep it.) but I have been watching ESPN and the NFL network and they all studied that TD over and over and they are convinced it was so I feel better now. They said all kind of rules about the white goal line (Not sure what it all meant) but I am now convinced it was a TD. That trick play was so beautiful and that run by our running back, Willy Parker, was also sweet! My kids were so excited. They have never seen them win a Superbowl.
That is geat that you keep your grandchildren 1 at a time. My grandma did that with us. I loved it.

I am so HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luv Ya,
Terri

Hi Buddies,

We had a lot of fun over the weekend. Mike and I still have a subscription to the series of plays in Boston. We saw "Dangerous Liasions". The main character, Michael Weiss, used to be on tv in "The Pretender". On Saturday Mike helped with set building and I worked on costumes at the high school. Of course we watched the Superbowl last night. Even if it was not our team, the Pats, we had a lot of fun at a big party. The host grew up in Pittsburgh and he had his stereo cued up to play "We will Rock You" everytime the Steelers scored. Any votes for favorite commercials? I liked the FedEX one.

Terri, Congrats to your team, :cloud9: I bet you are grinning from ear to ear today.
Jen, Your dress sounds very classy and simply gorgeous. I am glad you found the right choice in plenty of time. I hope we will get to see wedding pictures.
Ruth, your grandchildren must be so sweet, I can remember you writing as they came along. It is amazing how time flies. I'd love to hear how Brittany does when she stays over. Your own room, wow! I bet you will get it ship-shape soon. I would love a study/sewing/ workout room.

Hi Es, Dianne, anyone I missed
Luv ya's!

Morning ladies,

TERRI, glad to hear that everyone still said it was a touchdown. Watching the Steelers win the Super Bowl made me fill young again. After all, it was the 70's when they won so many games.

I hope one day that my grandchildren will look back with fondness at being able to spend the night with Mammaw. I didn't spend a lot of time with my grandparents, so I feel like I missed out. When I started doing genealogy I got to know my grandmother through the eyes of her brother, nieces and nephews. Every one thoguht she was a wonderful lady, made me wish that I had spent more time with her.

Jerry Rice got a break from Dancing with the Stars. I am addicted to that show. Maurice came home from work last Thursday, I had the TV in the bedroom on Dancing with the Stars and the one in the living room on Survivor and I was positioned so I could watch both TV's. Now that is pathetic!!! LOL

JEN, can't wait to see photos of the wedding in May. The dress sounds gorgeous.

SANDY, I will be happy to give a report on Brittany next week. Her parents have a hard time getting her to go to bed and she still sleeps in the bed with her Mommy, so will see.

Well, time to go back to work, hope everyone is surviving their MONDAY.

Sandy,
I love Michael Weiss. He was Mike Horton on Days of Our Lives.
Glad you are having fun.
My favorite commercials were The Magic Fridge and the baby Clydsdale.
 On the NFL network they had a half hour of the commercilas except for the BUD ones. Must not have had permission.

Ruth,
Now I heard Ben Roethlisberger himself (On David Letterman) say that it may not have made it in. He isn't sure but he said they would have definately got it in the next play because the ball would have been placed on the very edge of the chalk line.
I am so sure your grandchildren will appreciate it so much. I sure do now.
I love a hands on grandma. I hope to be one when the time comes.

Well Jen it looks like Antwon Randal El is a free agent this year from The Steelers and Chicago is looking at him. He is our punt receiver that likes to run the ball all the way back for a TD and he is a receiver and sometimes a quarterback (which he played in college). He is involved in our trick plays one of which made a TD Sunday. I hope he stays with us but if you get him he will definately add something.

Have a nice evening everyone.
Terri

Sandy,
You had a good weekend, it sounded like fun. Have you started any seedlings yet?

Ruth,
I love the way you had two tv's going! When the Bears play I've got every tv in the house on, so if I go from room to room I won't miss anything; it drives Joe crazy  What do you think of the way they began Survivor? I definitely didn't like the age segregation..but it usually does play a big role each season, so perhaps the writers figured they'd use it to their advantage? Should be interesting.

Terri,
The future of the Bears looks good, they're expected to dominate the NFC within the next few years. If we pick up Antwon Randal El, all the better for us!.

Es and Dianne, how's everything? I miss you!

I finally reached the 30 pound loss at last night's weigh-in!! :dancer:
I got rid of the last few gains, had a 5.4 loss this week and hit 30 pounds What a relief, it has been bugging me that I've been playing around with those same pounds over and over. Now that I've got it behind me, I feel very positive......my next goal is to get under 200.

have a great day!
~Jen

Hello,

JEN, I am so proud of you. Keep up the good work! Just think, that nice dress you bought for the wedding may not fit by the time the wedding. You may have to have it altered to a smaller size. Wouldn't that be wonderful.

Terri, I am just now trying to take some time with the grandchildren and I've really enjoyed it. I plan on making this a life long habit, or at least until they get old enough not to want to hang out with Grandma any more!!

Well, I've got to get back to work. Talk to you girls later.

Ruth

Ruth,
Your grandchildren will remember the times you spend with them, and the bonding is so important. I treasure every moment we have with our two guys, and thank God every day that they are a part of our lives.
Do you have special plans for when Brittany visits? We've found that the kids don't care if we take them somewhere or just stay home and play games, color, do crafts, etc...just so we're together. They know what they can/can't get away with, and they also know our soft spots  too well, sometimes!!!
I hope you have a wonderful time.

Matthew has been ill for a week..the flu and all its nasty symptoms. Now Brandon fell ill yesterday. :(

Tomorrow is Joe's birthday. He and I are going out to dinner, then on Saturday we're having a small family celebration. It will be really small now, since Jess, Michael and the boys probably won't be able to come!
We ordered pulled pork from Corky's in Memphis for Saturday, which was Joe's choice, and I'm not complaining, we loved it when we were there.

Hi Girls:wave:

My computer is acting up so I haven't been online much. I check my email from work most of the time. I posted yesterday but it disappeared.

Jen, Happy belated birthday to Joe. :balloons: I had pulled pork at our office Christmas party, it was sooooo good. Sorry to hear the boys aren't feeling well. It's going around. CONGRATS ON YOUR 30 LB. LOSS!!! :cp: :carrot:

Ruth, it must be so cool to be a grandma. I hope I'm a grandma someday. And, you're still young so you can keep up with them.

Hi Sandy, Terri, Dianne & long lost Zoe. I'm keeping this post short cause I'm afraid I'll lose it.

WE ARE GETTING A LOT OF SNOW!!!!!!!!!!
