    hey all,

i picked to be miserable now and happy later~~it breaks my heart when i see older men and woman living alone of having to go thru their spouses death i hope i won't be alone.

belle and kirsty~i like to journal too...i do it off and on but it really helps keep me focused. i bought a new one the other day. lately i have been taking out a lot of bad vibes on bf and i really need to stop. i was hoping that the journal would help.

i have a bit of a soar throat today but i have to do so much stuff.....yesterday 75 people got layed off at bf's company which use to be 250 people. he said it was so emotional and grown men and woman were crying. luckily he was not layed off but he was so drained yesterday....really sad.

    lori~congrats on the milestone!!!!

    steph~ have fun at u2!!!!!

i was also overweight during my youth

hAve a good weekend.....does anyone else have monday off???

    later!

belle~ you could always ask for diet coke though it might taste nasty.
  • Quick Note...
    TGIF!!!

I suppose I pick miserable youth, happy old-age. I figure old age lasts longer. And, like many others, I didn't have the best of youth either, and now I'm pretty happy. It's not a bad trade-off.

We went last night to "Home Depot University". DH and I are remodeling our kitchen ourselves. We have already purchased the cabinets, sink, faucet, etc. and they are in the basement in a huge pile of very intimidating boxes waiting to be assembled. The floor will be done professionally (linoleum), and we'll probably wind up hiring a plumber & electrician too... but the cabinets, counters, painting, & wall tiling is up to us. So, last night we got a lesson in cabinet installation. I'm not feeling too confident.

Yesterday was a good point day. Only one more week until my first official weigh in. That scale had better show a decent drop or else!

Pardon me for not having much time for personals today. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. We're off Monday too, but it's supposed to rain all weekend long...
  • Just a quicky note from me... I have to run and meet a friend for lunch... she is PG and due in July and I haven't seen her for months. Also someones b-day in the office and he brought in bagels.... Ugghhh, yes I ate one! That plus lunch will put me over... and I WI tomorrow. Gonna find a lighter lunch (hard to do) and eat a light dinner. Pooor me. But I was worse off last week, so I should be OK!!!

Had a meeting this morning... they always drain me!!

Suzanne... I feel for you and my thoughts are with you that bf's job is OK!!!

Belle... I used to journal, but haven't in years... gonna try that again!

Janet... we are finishing our basement all by ourselves... I know how you feel. But luckily it is the kind of thing we can do whenever, because right now it is not a high traffic area! GOOD LUCK!!!

Ohh, gotta go, have to walk a couple blocks to the restaurant!!
  • have a good weekend y'all
15 more mins and i'm outta here and off to catch my train!
hope everyone has a good weekend, i'll catch up with you on tuesday,
    kirsty
  • Re-inspired
If you wanna get re-inspired, try re-reading your WW material...I know, its lame, but that worked for me just now. I was like, blah blah, WW...and then I read the material over. I think it was Lolly or Bren that told me to do that before. It sort of works. I also checked out the success stories. Love those.

We have some of our own too!!

Anyway, it stopped me from going down to get the decadent toasted seed roll from the Good Earth cafe (YUMMY, but about 13 points and also, well, doesn't digest very well.....yikes.)

UGH Do I really have 45 more lbs to go?? well, could be worse, could be at 250 still, right??? I am really motivated now to get that darn second 10% which is actually a new century too - 199. Want that so much I can taste it!!

Weekend challenge, for any of you who will read this before MOnday - Journal all weekend - even drinks, I dare you. I am going to challenge myself to do this cuz I NEVER journal on weekends and I have been so good this week, its worth it.

Well, must run and work now....have a good weekend girls!!

    Belle
  • New girl...
Hi, I'm new here and I was wondering...
    just kidding.
Work has been so busy and still is but I didn't want ya'll to think I quit.
Actually, real quick, I went to WI Tues and lost 3 pounds!
Yup! It's amazing what happens when you journal and stay OP!! I was totally stoked! (omigosh, did I say stoked?)
Well, we're gearing up for a big Corvette Festival this weekend and I'm taking Tuesday off, too, so FINALLY!! I get a four day weekend!
Hopefully I can get online sometime this weekend.
    Have a great one everybody!!
  • Hi all!

I have had a horrible last two days with food, notice I did'nt post either?? That must have something to do with it!

I am still on track today at 16 points. Yeah!

Janet~ We are in the middle of remodeling out recently purchased home. I understand how intimidating it is! this weekend we are putting in the linoleum ourselves in the kids room. Yikes!

    Brenda~Get better soon!

Stacey~Have fun at the corvette show, and enjoy your four day weekend.

Belle~ I should go back and reread all of the WW materials. I can vouch for it getting you re-inspired about doing the program. It really does work! Thanks for giving me that little reminder. We are also going to see Shrek this weekend with a good friend of ours......
I keep hearing nothing but positive comments so I am looking forward to watching it.

Kirsty~ I know I've already missed you and you are on the train to Wales, but have a great weekend.

Man, I have to run, sorry I did'nt respond to everyone, I had good intentions though! I will chat with you all soon.

  • Hi~~~~~~~~
Is there anyone left out there???

OMG!!! Saw Bridget Jones! Luvluvluvluvluvluvluvluvluv!!! I could watch it over and over and over. Good little surprises that kept you guessing even if you had read the book. Have to own it on video when it comes out! On the movie subject, I have to admit I LOVE Star Wars. Yes, I was a tomboy growing up. I agree on Dirty Dancing and the brat pack movies and I didn’t see anyone mention Say Anything! I’ve always thought Cutting Edge was cute (have it at home) and Overboard is hilarious. Of course I love Goldie Hawn and Kirt Russell. Anything with Harrison Ford or Sean Connery or Tom Hanks too! Recently I love Ben Afflick, and I know I’m forgetting others. Females: Sandra Bullock, Meg Ryan again, forgetting others.

It’s quite a challenge catching up on a full week of posts! I told you about still feeling completely icky! It sucks *pout pout* It had better be gone by when I get off work today b/c I want to play all weekend!

You are all going to think I’m a hick (no offense to anyone) when I tell you how I met my hubby! I grew up in the city but a friend from college who was a true country boy told me once that I have a country attitude. Deduce whatever you want about me from the comment Anyway, I rode bulls for about a year and a half. We used to go up to the farm north of Denver where a guy had chutes and everything set up. These were beginner bulls, but there were a couple of other girls who rode as well. I wore a protective vest and it’s the biggest rush in the world! I felt waaaaay too heavy back then but was probably at 140-150 (140 is the top of my WW range!). Anyway, a mutual friend of DH and I brought him up to watch everyone ride and that’s where we met. Well, to make the story funnier, I got thrown face first into a fence that night so I had a partial black eye and nasty scrapes down my face! To top it off, our first date was two days after I went to the Garth Brooks concert two nights in a row (we go back to a wide range of tastes in music - Garth Brooks to Bon Jovi!) and had no voice. Then on the day of the date I got held up at gunpoint in the retail store where I was a manager at the time. I’m surprised DH didn’t think I was an absolute freak and cancel the date. He was great though. He asked me if I wanted to postpone the date but I told him I couldn’t sit in my apartment alone. He took me out for steak!! I got a call from the detective on the case and he wanted to come to my apartment to show me a lineup late that night. DH stayed for support along with my roommate (who was sleeping on an air mattress on my floor for 6 weeks). What a beginning. It feels surreal even telling it! It’s kind of fun to see the shocked look on people’s faces when we tell that story after they ask how we met. I wish I could see all of your faces!

Girlie: Welcome!!! WW is great and you have come to the best place on earth (web?) for support!

Jen: DH and I saw STOMP in Vegas a few years back and we absolutely loved it! We would love to go again. Have a blast!

Stacey: I love the story about the truck and corvette. DH and I joke that if I would have met him with long hair when he owned his camaro I never would have dated him! Heheheheheh Yeah on your loss!!!!!

Kay: Wasn’t snorkeling the best? I’m dying to do it again. How many different drink glasses did you have collected in your room on the cruise? We had a funky one with two straws and the plastic glass was separated in two. There was strawberry daiquiri on one side and pina colada on the other. Kind of hard to drink! Oh I’m in fits for another cruise!!!! I’m so glad you had fun and congrats on such a minimal gain! Just be careful, my big gain came the week after

Kim: We saw Everest when it was here in Denver. Very incredible!!!

Cuba: But don’t you know it’s not your wedding day, everything revolves around them! I feel your pain girl, the memories are very fresh!!
