Hey, Choosewell! Great to see you! And Bandit and Judy, too, as always!

No time for personals right now, just wanted to share this quote that someone posted over at Dotti's. I'm not a huge Oprah fan generally, but I thought this was great:

From the April 2005 issue, page 37, Oprah's editorial:

"Are We Feeling Good Yet?"

"Why should January have all the jumpstarts? We've decided that April's a great time for a fresh beginning, which is why you might call this our New Day's Resolutions issue. Forget years -- when it comes to your health, you've got to think minutes, as in the one you're standing in right now. Every day you make choices that help or harm you."

{Here's information about what's in the issue}

"What are you waiting for before you'll take care of yourself? That's the question that inspired us. Too often we make our well-being a low prioirty, figuring we'll pay attention after the bills are paid off, the kids' needs are met, and things settle down at work. But our bodies demand our attention now. They won't take an IOU on nutrition, exercise, or getting that overdue checkup. I've learned that committing to a lifetime of wellness is not a luxury -- it's a necessity. You'll never have enough time; you have to take the time."

"Happy New Day -- the only day you have for sure. You may slip up; we all do. But your chance to try again won't be a year from now -- it'll be a moment from now. Make this your minute to start again."
-----------

Onward and DOWNWARD,

Lauren

Choosie,
I hope your recuperation after your hysterectomy is going well. Life is sure strange, but you are very smart to look into medical signs, and also to trust your intuition. I'm a stronger and stronger believer in the phrase, "There are no coincidences." Here's a to help you feel well and strong.

Lauren,
Way to go to get the walking in. Glad food is going well. I'm sure you'll let us know how things are progressing with your dh's job pursuits. In the meantime you're in my prayers. Thanks so much for the article from Oprah. She is right on, of course. It's like the idea of making sure we make the list. It's not indulgent, it's necessary and sometimes life-saving.

Bandit, thanks for the updates on your WW visits. They're important and a great way to keep on track. I'm heading back this Wednesday after a two-week stay away. Things have gotten complicated here, but I've got my eating where I want it--I'm simply eating less and letting myself get a bit hungrier than I usually do. Must say I don't like it, but maybe my stomach will shrink a bit and I'll be able to keep on doing this. Also have to get back on track with treadmill. It's such an energizer and I have to figure out a way to do that.

Swania,
My goodness. I really want to hear from you. Can Suzanne help you get back on this board? I miss you. In any case, it's a July WI for me!!! I'm really working WW right now and have to help fight against set-backs.

Everybody==do well and have a great day! Chime in if you can.
Love,
Judy

Hi Turtles,
Bandit!!!!! I am so glad you chimed in. I kept checking and no one was posting. So to you for getting us started again. Big cheers for your weight loss. Not an easy time to take care of yourself, so I'm glad you're doing so well.

I've been doing very well for weeks now. This weekend I had the whole family together and cooked great food that was right OP. Unfortunately an old pattern came in and when they left, I started eating off program and ended up binging yesterday. Not fun. I'm not going near the scale and have started today to be OP again. I'm hoping since it was short term, I haven't done any real damage, but this is why I don't see a continual weight loss: duh--I don't stay OP continually. Okay, I'm not beating myself up, but I'm serious and will do all I can to stay OP.

Lauren, I hope you're getting good news about your dh's position. Also that more work is coming your way soon.

Swania, any luck in getting back here? Hope to hear from you soon.

Love you guys--
Judy
