Hello everybody!

I too am guilty of not journaling. DH and I went to PA to visit his family this weekend. Saturday we had lunch with his grandmother at the nursing home, and dinner with his aunt and cousins. I did pretty well at the meals, but dessert killed me! I had a scoop of ice cream and a small slice of cake at lunch and a slice of strawberry-rhubarb pie at dinner. Easter dinner was ok. Salmon and couscous. I was able to avoid dessert at that one! I hopped on the scale this morning and I 'm not up any, but sometimes it takes a day or 2 to show. I'm home from work early today, so I'm going out for a run then going to the store to stock up on lots of veggies!

Jen-L good job avoiding the cravings! I work in a hospital and there are always sweets around! I've been known to run away as fast as I can in the other direction. The cinamom gum is a good idea for cravings. I'll have to try that.

Brenda- I'm glad that your dog is okay!

Sarah- the strawberry pie sounds delish! Can you post the recipe?

Have a great day everyone!

Brenda.... I forgot to give you my sympathies about Nestle. My Sadie gets herself into predicaments also. As much as she can drive me absolutely bonkers, I get super protective and sad when something happens to her! Don't worry, you won't make a crazy mom... I am the same way with Emma! Hope Nestle's eye is OK! My childhood dog lost her site in an eye because she had a tangle with a cat... bad scratch on her eye! Give Nestle lots of belly rubs for me!

Default Steak is evil

Brenda: I went to Texas Steakhouse, too! First time I had been there. It wasn't bad ... I like Outback better. Their baked sweet potato is much better. I did do OK Sat. night at a party, though. I only had one beer and a glass a wine. I brought a bottle of wine with me, but suddenly wasn't in the mood and drank water most of the night. Then I left the wine there (actually by accident, but maybe subconsciously, not!)

Thanks for the encouragement, Jen! Did Emma wear a bonnet? I love seeing little kids in Easter bonnets. I remember when I was little and my mom would get one for my sister and I every year. In church yesterday, I only saw one or two kiddies with them.

Belle: Don't fret! Maybe he just doesn't see Easter as much as a holiday as you do. Same with family. My mom has always been a stickler for not overplaying Easter because of it being a religious holiday. We got baskets when we were kids, but once we were older, that stopped. And she sends cards for everything but Easter. I didn't get a card from my b/f, either. One year, he gave me a little stuffed chick, but that was it!

Sarah: I can't wait to see Bridget Jones! My b/f calls it a chick flick (which it is), and wouldn't go with me. So I'm going to try to get some girlfriends together sometime this week!

Well, I actually have tons of work to do so I better go! I'm procrastinating, I know, but I just don't want to do much of anything.

Well I haven't checked in since Wed so I will read back to posts later. I had a tragic weekend actually. One of my sisters best friends was killed in a car accident on Thurs. I took off thurs to be with her and Fri came in for a couple hours but it is just a hard thing. I cannot get over how hard it is on me and I was only an aquaintance. My sister went to Arizona for the funeral andI am so worried about her. I guess my reason for sharing this is it is just unbelievable how fragile life is. I just wanted to take a second and encourage all of you to call those close friends and tell them that you love them. That was one of my sisters biggest regrets that she hadn't called her in a while. I called all of my friends that I am close to just to send my love b/c we can't take for granted that they will always be there. O.k. I hope this isn't a total downer or TMI but I felt compelled to share.
On a much lighter note. I did o.k. this weekend,I thought but when I added up my points I was quite a bit over yesterday. Oh well. I also didn't share that on Fri. at WI I lost another pd. so that was good.

Jen-Glad to hear the dress turned out and Easter was enjoyable. I hate to hear that the receptionist at WI is so rude. I think you should report her to someone. I would confront her but if she is just "one of those people" then she will not be affected by it. Good luck with whatever you decide. I agree with Brenda though it is hard enought to go and do it much less with some mean woman.

Tonya-I am glad one of us isn't tempted by the candy. I am completely addicted to the Reeses PB eggs. Anyways I understand sitting at work and obsessing about the house being messy. My room is a total mess and I actually want to get out of work so that I can clean it

Belle-How many sisters do you have. I have 3 and I love it. I seriously dont know what I would do without them. We always quote to one another the line from Little Women "I could never love anyone as I love my sister" O.k. cheesy I know but we have a lot of fun together

Sarah-sounds like you are definitely getting back on track from your weekend Good JOb. The pie sounds so good

Kay- I have a very sensitive friend also (doesn't everybody ) and I agree with whoever said that you should just ask her if you have offended her. This is the only way to deal with it I have found and obviously due to the incident with my sisters friend now is the best time. Sorry if that seems dramatic but I just look at life a bit differently. I think b/c she was my age and it is just weird, anyways.

Stacey-Good job on the long walk. I figure that makes up for the ice-cream

Kim- sounds like you had a nice laid back weekend. Good for you. I wish sometimes that I didn't have to do the big traditional hoopla.

Suzanne- Congrats on the dinner. I can't imagine cooking for a group of people (big or small) I would be nervous. Good JOb.

Brenda I had a eating weekend too. I am glad to hear that you dog will be o.k. Don't worry I will be completely neurotic with children too. My friends tease me that my child will be like that John Travolta (whom I love) movie "Boy in the Plastic Bubble" b/c I will shelter them so much. Oh well.

Well girls I will check in again soon

Kim... Nope Emma didn't wear a bonnet... BUT, only because my mom bought her the cutest little hat in California. It is a delicately crocheted hat with a daisy and leaf on the top and a ladybug. The brim rolls up. It was so cute and looked adorable with her dress, which had daisies on it. She does have this bonnet tho, again, my mom bought it. I put it on her on Friday because I had to run outside to tell hubby something and it was sunny out. It made us giggle. She looked like she fell out of Little House on the Prairie!!!

Kim - I think you are right, he said he never celebrated like that before, and I know he felt bad. We had a sucha great weekend though. Your weekend DOES sound relaxing compared to mine...

OH MY GOD! I forgot to tell you girls this:
On Friday night atmy sister's, I accidentally called
by my ex'es name...it went Alan-Mom-Giles (sister, mom, Giles). Just like that. It was HORRIFIC!!!! And, I
totally just slipped, b/c I was just telling Alana how Giles had been calling
me. ANd it meant nothing and I totally learned my lesson -B/f
held it over my head for a bit but then "forgave" me, and was very
affectionate and understanding. He said he hoped that I understood when he slipped up when we were arguing about HIS ex and he accidently called me by her name. I didnt forgive him for a month at least, and he told me on Friday night how much that hurt him, and he hoped I would trust him more in the future, now that i know it can be just an honest, stupid mistake.....

I felt bad, but he made a very good point. I trust him all the more now. And he hasn't spoken to his ex in over three weeks...!!!

Becky - I have two older sisters. I agree with teh Little Women comment, my sisters are my life. I don't know what I'd do without them. Although they drive me mad sometimes....but hey, can't win em all.

Speaking of sisters, b/f's sister is coming to stay with him for four months on Wednesday. that will change our dynamics quite a bit I think...should be fun/interesting!

Default Yay!

I'm going to see Bridget tonight. I convinced two girls in my office to go with me. If they didn't want to, I would have just gone alone. I want to see it!

Becky: Sorry to hear about your sister's friend. You're right - we don't always realize how fragile life is. It's just sad the reminders usually come under tragic circustances. I'm glad you could be there for your sister. My sister and I are really close, too. She's my best friend and we lean on each other heavily. I don't know what I'd do without her.

I'm signing off for the night. Have a good one, everyone!
