AW!! Thank you so much Essie. Actually I was at 194 when I first started. I was ecstatic when I reached 170. 150 is great. You will get here. How tall are you? Just make it a lifetime commitment and relax a little. Enjoy life and go day by day.
I'll bet you look nice now.
I'll bet Pete would say "MMMmm she looks fine."
Have a wonderful Saturday my friend.
HI everyone. After my 3.8# loss I gained 1/2 pound. That is ok because I am stil 3.3# down and that is a larger than normal loss for me and it is my TOM. I felt so bloated this morning I almost didn't go because of that but I said "No, do it." I am determined to get at least 2 pounds off next week.
Have a great weekend.
Terri
I didn't get around to posting yesterday. The weather was beautiful and I worked outside all afternoon...then I was sooo tired. Our daughter is suppose to come out today and help with some edging. We live in the country & our house is on an acre of land which gets to be a handful to take care of. My husband broke his back 4 years ago and can't do a lot of the work. Or if he does he is in serious pain afterwards.
Sounds like there are a few Survivor fans here. My husband & I love to watch. Although I liked the characters/contestants last year much better. I agree with Terri about the order of winners. Did any of you like Jeri?
Essie - TOPS stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly. It is a weight loss club. It does not support any particular diet but offers support to those who are dieting.
Kelly - I started WW last Tues. , my meetings are at 6:30 pm. I am on my first week too. I have 100 pounds to lose. We can do this! I have stayed OP everyday except one. So I think I'm doing okay so far.
I am learning names and getting to know everyone so forgive me if I mess up for awhile.
Joyce,
I am so sorry about your husband. How did that happen? I hope his pain isn't too bad. I have scoliosis and that is bad enough. I couldn't imagine. We did a lot of yard work too. Beautiful weather.
Now about Jerri on Survivor. I COULDN'T STAND HER!! Her mom and dad live where I do. She has been here a few times since the show. We were sure it was going to be Elisabeth that was going to be voted off the night Jerri was and man did we scream when Jeff said Jerri's name. That was so much fun.
Good luck on Tuesday.
Terri
Joyce, ouch!! a broken back must have been very painful. So sorry for hubby I love the country. No one would believe I was born & raised in the city. I live in the suburbs but too many people are living here now. I wish I could go further out but right now I'm very close to my job. I regret I never watched Survivor. I hear so much about it from my co-workers.
Terri, I've been 170 for around 3 yrs. I go up alittle, down alittle. It's my own fault. I snack too much. I really need to buy the Bakers Cookies. Thank God I like to exercise. That's what has helped me stay the same. I go for a physical next month & I would like to lose 10 lbs. by then. I think I mentioned that my cholesterol has always been high. I know if I lose at least a little it'll be down some. I'm 5' 2"
Hi everyone! I had a great day yesterday working outside too. I am really sore today...
By the way what is spinning? I have never heard of it.
I also have a question about exercise and WW. I have not received my exercise book yet but if you do more than 20 minutes of exercise do you get points. If so how many?
About survivor - Terri we shouted too. We expected the same thing that Elisabeth would get it. After Jeri got it, I told my husband I bet people all over the world were jumping for joy.
Terri & LivingFit - My husband was in construction and the people he was working for used Pump Jacks ( a very dangerous form of scaffolding). The uprights broke and he fell two stories. His T4 vertabrae was crushed. He had some nerve damage. They took bone from his hip to rebuild the vertabrae, then put in metal rods to make sure it healed properly and no more injury occured. It was a bad time in my life. For 6 months after he got home I had to do everything for him until the back healed enough for him to do it. Plus work full time and cope with a daughter that was 16 and going through her rebellious stage. She was also very angry about the accident her real Dad died when she was 2 1/2 yrs and this scared her. I gained most of my weight during the year he was recovering. I also developed hypothyroidism right after this. I think my adrenals just gave out.
Sorry didn't mean for this to get so long. Feels good to share though.
Have a great day. Hello to everyone in our group!
Joyce
Joyce, what a terrible thing to happen. Thank God he's okay. I am an emotional eater. Lots of us are. So I can understand how you gained your weight during that time. With WW & our support, you'll be fine. Spinning is exercising on a bike. They set the mood. Alot of the gyms have it. I've never taken it but I plan to. I like high intesity workouts. Patti, could tell us more about it.
The activity points I hardly ever use. I'm new at it so I'll let someone who has been on program longer explain it to you. I guess I can't explain anything huh I'm really tired right now & I can't think straight when I'm tired.
Hello all!!
Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted, but have had major computer trouble and looks like I get to buy a new PC!
For now, I'm using hubby's laptop, which is nice.
Terri I eat pirates booty every day too. Just one of those great low point snacks I have to have. I order online for them too as we don't have them here.
I just order a case at a time and they're fresh that way.
Im gonna' make it to chat sometime here. When do you go in? Any certain time of the day?
Kelly Welcome to the group here. I am new too and was glad to see everyone here is really nice and friendly.
Joyce Are you new to posting here too? I'm just trying to keep up!! Hope you like it here as well.
Was a good week end, but just gone too fast for me. Spent most of my time shopping for 'puters.
Oh well, gotta' be doing something, hu?
Hope you are all ready for a good one on Monday...
Kelly, good luck tomorrow at your weigh-in, let us know how it goes.
Essie, a new living room set? Cool, don't you love shopping for furniture? We'll be working on our living room and dining rooms this fall, I can't wait to go shopping! I know you'll be successful in your battle with those pounds. You have one big plus on your side....that love of exercise. At least you know that even if you're carrying around extra pounds, you're in good shape and strong and healthy.
Joyce, what an ordeal your husband and you have been through, I hope he's stronger every day. Good luck with your weigh in on Tuesday.
We had beautiful weather here yesterday and today, mid 70's and sunny! I raked and cleaned out a few flower beds today, it was so nice to be outside, I hated to come in. I'm really looking forward to being at home this summer, something I used to dream of when at work.
Myra, I got a yoga video from the library, and tried yoga on Friday. It was with Rodney Yee, focusing on abs. I found it to be much more satisfying than I had anticipated, and am going to pursue it further. I thought of you the whole time!
I like Mondays. Weird Mondays are for a new start & usually I'm very busy at work. The day goes by fast.
Joyce, that's what happened to my old computer. I went out the same day & bought a new. I freaked out when it crashed I'm in for the chat room also. We should plan it.
Jen, I have the Power Yoga by Rodney Lee. He was on Oprah Friday. Enjoy the Spring weather. Today is suppose to reach 70 here in NY. Great weather for walking outside.
Zoe, I was reading the other boards & read that you started Atkins. I work with someone that has been very successful with this diet. It's been 2 yrs. & she kept it off.
Well, I am attempting to try something that I did many years ago and that is cutting back on my carbs to lose weight. In 1980 I did this and lost 91 pounds in 6 months. I am still counting my WW pts ~ maybe it's over-kill but I'm getting desperate. I promised myself that I would do it for about 1 week. I started on Sunday and I will see if the scale moves on Saturday morning......that will be 6 full days.
I hope you guys won't kick me out of this group. I love it here and am still watching my points. I guess if I need to leave, I'd understand......
Hope you are all having a good OP week. So far, so good with me....
Zoe, don't even think you'd be kicked out of this group! We all need to find the support that works for us, and you're here to stay. Good luck w/your new plan, the point is you're trying, right?
How is everyone? I've maintained.....again. At least I know that when I eventually reach goal, I shouldn't have a problem maintaining! I'm going to restart with the week 1 book today, and refocus on the basics.
HI!
Essie,
I am sure that you look wonderful! Don't beat yourself up. Good luck on your new goals. You will meet them. Just remember, this is for life. WE will never be done talking about this. Enjoy your furniture.
Joyce,
I am so sorry to read about your daughter. I'll bet that was hard. That is too much pain for such a young girl. I am praying that your husband makes a full recovery. My husband broke his leg in three places last year and I had to do everything (Right in the middle of baseball season- two boys were playing) for about 4 months. That is hard. I can't imagine doing it longer. Bless You
You talk as long as you want.
Zoe,
There is nothing wrong with incorporating other plans in ww. Carbs can be a killer. Good luck! You better stay.
Jen,
Maintaining is soooo much better than a gain. Cangrats!!!!
Hi Dianne, Anita, Kelly and Myra (Hope I didn't miss anyone.)
Terri
