Manic Monday!

  • Morning ladies. Actually it is noon here. Where is everybody? I am jealous if everybody is off work. Well I am going to go to lunch but I wanted to start the thread.

Did everyone have good wknds? Mine was great. I watched movies and we had people over Sat. Night which was fun. We also did some shopping for the house! I love when we do that. Ok I am just rambling. I will come back and post properly after I eat. I am HUNGRY!!!

  • Hey Becky! I am here too - it's 10am and if no one had started it by now I was going to just before lunch.

My weekend was pretty good but tiring...the baby shower went well yesterday - 32 people showed up!

I was really concerned about my mom on the weekend. Her weight us up to 190, which she carries all in her stomach....plus she smokes and is 65. I know she won't stop smoking, but maybe if I can get her to lose some weight it will help. I decided that getting her to WW will be the best. She lives on her own and eats out and isn ot acountable. BUT on WW she is weighed in by someone EVERY WEEK which makes her more accountable. Of course, she won't go alone, that would mean I have to find time to go with her evenings. But I think it will prolong her life, and make her more comfortable. she is having a lot of trouble walking as it is...but her weight makes it more difficult. Anyway, I figure I'll probably go with her and tell her I need her as a buddy - it works well that way when she feels needed. I won't tell her I am worried about her health...

As for my coworker, new is that he took his own life, it was not, in fact, heart related....

    How sad....he was 65!
  • Belle~ Glad that the baby shower went well. I think your plan with your mom is perfect. You are totally right about the feeling needed thing. I think she will go for it. Sorry about your co worker. That is a really difficult thing to go through. We are here for you when you need to vent.

Well back to work I go. My boss is having me train someone this afternoon so I have lots of work to do before then!!!
  • Hi Again Becky!!

Where is everyone...it isn't aholiday up here, how about down there?

Well, I went for my walk today 40 min we did. I think we went almost 5km which is good! It usualy takes close to an hour, but we were really clipping along. I enjoyed it. Now I am munching on some grapes.

I am ticked off b/c I bought some yogurt at Costco adn I didn't calculate the points ahead of time, figured it'd be one or 2, but it's THREE and they are fat free!! GAH!!

Oh well, I guess I"ll modify my dinner points...I can't use any flexpoints until Wed (as I am out!).

    Come out and play??
  • Ok the yogurt thing gets me too! I love Yoplait Yogurts and the one that I get is 4 points. It just seems like that CANNOT be right. Oh well I guess I will have to start seeing yogurt as dessert??? I guess?? That is a shame!! Great job on the walk. I need to go home and hit the treadmill tonight.

If there is a holiday here I am severely out of the loop. I wonder where everyone is????
  • I'm Here!
Just a quick post to tell you guys that I'm here. I'm going to go work on a nice long post now.
  • Hello!
Hi Becki and Belle! I wanted to get here earlier today, but spent most of the morning out of the office. I had an appt with my plastic surgeon about my surgery. Then, I had my annual physical at 11:15, which took FOREVER! As unpleasant as that appointment is, you'd think they'd want to keep it as short as possible.

I had a nice weekend this weekend. Friday night, I bowled and just went home and relaxed. Saturday during the day, I was stamping flower pots for a workshop I'm teaching on Thursday night. Saturday evening, I went to my favorite Greek restraunt with a friend and pigged out. Yesterday, I re-stamped pots (the ones I did on Saturday weren't so great) and tried to get myself prepared for Thursday night. That flower pot workshop could be a really great way for me to get my name out in the community and maybe get a nice, big customer base here in town, so I really want to make it great.

Tonight, I work at Subway until 10, which isn't too bad. I like the kid I'm working with, so it should go fast. Then, I'm going home and going to bed. Aaron and I had a late-night screaming match last night. (I don't like to tell people this kind of stuff because we sound so trashy and like we can't get along. The truth is, I was tired and overreacted about something little and he reacted to me yelling at him by yelling back). So I'm very tired today. That'll teach me to overreact.

Belle--How very sad about your co-worker. I'll never understand what would make a person take their own life. Did he have a family? I think your plan to have your mom be your WW buddy is a good one. My mom is my WW buddy, and it works out (usually). Sometimes she drives me crazy with her nagging, but that's just Mom. You're doing a good thing for her and she'll appreciate it.

Becki--Your weekend sounds wonderful. My favorite part is probably the house shopping--I love to shop for stuff for my home. I just wish my tiny apartment were a little larger. Yikes! Four points for yogurt? Holy cow! I think I'd have pudding for that many points. Or maybe some cookies--no wonder I'm the world's naughtiest Weight Watcher.

Well, gals, I better get a little something done in my last 1/2 hour of work. I might pop back in, but if I don't, have a wonderful evening!
