Default Where are you all Wednesday?

Hey, all ! Can't believe I am the first one here!
Lisa-congrats on the bling! DH got me diamond earrings for the birth of the baby, and I lost them! I know I'm not getting real jewelry anytime soon!!
Laura-you are a workout maniac!! I wish I could do that!

Kier-way to go-getting on track!

Laura-I tried WW for breastfeeding and couldn't lose anyway-my body seems to want to hold onto the fat! It's basically the same, you just add ten points a day to your total if you are exclusively breastfeeding. I didn't try it until 6 weeks postpartum though-wanted to make sure my milk was in...

I had a carb binge yesterday-accounted for everything, though. I still have 30 or so flex points left for the week....
Of course, i was feeling slimmer after working out a few days in a row, so i weighed myself, and was up two!!! Arrgh!! I will keep plugging away, though...

Off to work!

Lori - please, please, please tell me that you left the breastfeeding note for Jayne. I know you're a Dr. and an expert on these things and may know something I don't, but a baby REALLY isn't in my plans right now! BTW - good job on journaling everything even the binge related.

Walked 4 miles this morning and am hoping to get enough of a lunch break to join a circuit training class in the gym downstairs. Still making poor choices for food. Not losing but I am at least maintaing although it is about 5lbs higher than I'd like to maintain at.

Any one ever plan a couples wedding shower? I'm planning one for CB's sister and her fiance. I'm going with a "stock the bar theme" and have the cutest invitations for it. Do any of you have cool ideas for decorations? What about games - does one have to play them at a couples shower like you do at a bridal shower?

Come on out and let us know how you are doing!

Still working on that monster paper for tonight's class, so not a lot of time, but I just wanted to say hey.

Lori, if that info was for me, thanks. If it was for Laura, thanks for the laugh...I can just imagine the look on her face.

Laura, I've done a shower like that. The only game we played was mkaing the best mixed drink (we did a bartender iron chef). We put out all the basic liquors along iwth various mixers and juices and olives and cherries and other garnishes, and each couple got to make up and mix a drink of their choice. Everyone else tried it in a shot glass and rated it on taste, originality, and presentation (we had some truly beautiful garnishes). Just have enough highball glasses for each couple and a shotglass for each person, and put out spoons so that they can spoon some of the drink into their shotglass. The men really got into this game (surprise, surprise ). As far as decorations, we served vodka-pink lemonade-Sprite punch in martini glasses, and made centerpieces in martini glasses. We put sand anda pink candle in each and stuck glass swizzle sticks out of the sand (just put a few in the middle of the table). OH and give everyone a wine charm for their martini glass -- makes it so festive. Hope this helps...

Hey girls,

Things are crazy at work, so I just have time for a quickie right now! I have to be honest, I haven't done much today or yesterday to promote health or weight loss. I have been reacting to stress by eating lots o candy. I had some soup for lunch and have a salad for dinner, so at least there are some healthly options on hand. It does make me think though, why do we do this to ourselves? I can recognize the unhealthy habits, and those that make me remain fat, but I can't seem to turn them off yet. I need to flip the switch!! Anyway, tomorrow morning I am definitely going for a run. I somehow convinced myself in my half-sleep state that I didn't need to go this morning (maybe because it was like 13 degrees?).

I'm all for an iron chef drinkathon!! Is it only Wednesday? Since it looks like I'll have to work Saturday, is it only Tuesday?? lol....

Hi Lori .... are there baby pics to be seen? I'd love to see the little one. Gosh, so much happens when I leave the board!!! You lost yours? Both of them? Wow... I'm so sorry. how did you lose them both. See, this is what I'm afraid of. The earings will look very nice in my jewelry box... I'm too scared to wear them out.

Laura! First, congrats on your expecting ha ha ha!!! Second! 4 miles! You are the JAM!

Jayne! I want you to throw MY shower... sounds like fun. No, not engaged... but if I was, I'd elect you

Lexxy, lunch and dinner sounds nice. I go through the same thing every now and then. Last night I was in the check out at Trader Joes getting all healthy things... veggies, low fat meals, etc when I see a BUCKET of penut butter filled pretzel bites. And I think it's gotta be a good idea to buy them! On my way home I had 20-25 of them (they're the little pretzel bites)... but still. I get home and look to find out that 11 are 3 points. I had to get rid of those, so I gave them to Brian to bring to work for his buddies. It just wasn't safe to have them around. I'm not sure why we do it... I honestly think the reason I do it is for pleasure. I don't *think* I have emotional issues behind my eating. I just love food. In larger quantities. but that's why I'm good 80% of the time. I believe I can eat right 80% of the time and exercise so that I can have my cake, eat it, and not gain weight. I think it's normal. We somehow always find ways to sabatoge our efforts. But we have to keep chugging. I think it's just human nature.

Where is everyone today?

Lisa

Kierie! We were posting at the same time. Wow, Brian and I are looking at a one bedroom for $1850. Darn. We need to move out of the city. I too am doing the happy dance... and I will bet you you'll have the testicle effect in some 16's real soon!!!!!!!!! And we can all do a happy dance again! Your dinners sound so good. New Jersey's only 4 hours from here right? I can be there in time for dinner!
