Morning Kierie,

Well, yesterday didn't go so well with starting South Beach, so I'm starting (again) today. Had cottage cheese and hard boiled egg for breakfast. Yumm I figure I've had enough "last meals" for a while! McD's, Taco Bell, Chipotles, Pizza - all in 3 days. Anyway, not much else to report here. Weather stinks, freezing rain all day. I'm never going to have a chance to run outside for my training if this ice doesn't melt sometime soon (I have 2 months to get up to 10 miles).

Anyway, BBL

Angry Subway is the Greatest Second Job EVER!!

As you all know, I started my new second job last night at Subway. It is the greatest second job ever! If you work 4 hours or less, you get a 6" sandwich. If you work more than 4 hours, you get a 12"!!!! Do you have any idea how wonderful this is for me? I love Subway and eat it all the time. And, on the nights that I work, I'll have dinner for that night and lunch for the next day! It's the best!

I have WI tonight. I didn't journal much this week and when I don't journal, I don't feel confident with my progress. So, I really don't know if I'll be up or down this week. Hopefully I'll be down, but there were a few days that I got a little carried away with the eating, so I won't be surprised if I'm not.

After WI, my plans for tonight are to clean the apartment. Do I know how to have a good time or what??

Kier--Good luck at the job interview today! They'd be foolish not to hire someone as wonderful as you.

Lexxy--Ugh, I know what you mean about the weather. We've got at least 100 feet of snow on the ground (OK, maybe that's a slight exaggeration) and we're expected to get more!! Is it ever going to stop??

OK, I'm going to go read my Breast Reduction pamphlet. I've almost got it memorized.

Hey all. My tummy is not feeling well today, neither is hubby's. Hope we don't have the Kate bug from Sunday. Work is blah. Someone else called in sick so we can't leave. I really detest how certain people call in when they have a teeny cough. It makes it hard for those of us that only call in when we are unconscious!!! I am leaving early tho at 3:30. Have to take Emma in for a haircut and it was the only time I could get for her. I made this appointment over a month ago. All I could get were later in the evening, and that doesn't work with a 3 year old. Tho I am not sure if hubby will make it all day, he is acting worse than I am. I sent him out to get some white soda.

Jess... I am jealous of the Subs you get. I love sandwiches!!! I forget, is Aaron the one supposed to be looking for a job? Make him be a Sandwich Artist too. Then you would never have to buy meals!!!

OK, suppose I should keep working. I can't concentrate, but I don't want to get criticized for not working. I seem to get picked on a lot about that, even tho I work harder than most people here.

Hmm, I am having trouble logging in and staying logged in. Anyway, Belle, South Beach is really healthy from what I gather, depends on your point of view. It's not technically low carb, but it's low sugar and low trans fatty acids. Basically the first 2 weeks are induction - no sugar, no fruit, but only lean meats, eggs, lowfat dairy, beans, good fats and plenty of veggies. After that you can slowly add back some carbs, in the form of fruit and whole grains. Basically those that are low on the glycemic index. There's no counting calories or carb grams or anything for that matter (although I will), and they encourage you to eat till satisfied and snack so that blood sugar doesn't fall too low. It's mostly just a sensible plan that goes against the low fat/high carb thing, but doesn't play into the atkins approach of eating burgers and bacon and full fat cheese all day long. There's a South Beach group on the forum, you should check it out, lots of good info.

Anyway, Jess glad to hear work was good! Are you saving up for something in particular or just looking to get extra cash. I always toy with the idea of getting a second job, but never seem to have any time.

Jen, hope you feel better, I hate those people who call in all the time. Around here it's like if there's a snow shower people won't drive in. Sorry you get picked on - maybe it's because they know you are a good worker and therefore have higher expectations for you. I know I am like that with some of the people who work for me!

BBL after I get my salad bar and chicken breast for lunch!

Lexxy, I am sure that is it. I keep getting told that I have so much talent (where??). So I guess I am expected to pull more than the average person, yet on the same level, I need a break once in awhile too. If I don't ever get a break, then no one will be able to see that the slackers really are slackers. You know what I mean??

Oh well. Sure wish I could go home to my nice warm bed!!!

Hey guys. Well I'm officially irritated. Last night playing volleyball about 10 minutes in - loving it!! Having a great time!! Came down from a jump on top of someone else's foot and ended up at emerg for my ankle. Not broken but a pretty bad sprain. I'm on crutches and in pain (when the advil wears off) But I'm at work (not moving from my desk or rolling chair. AND, crutches give you quite the workout. I'm going to count extra exercise points for them. No weight on it for 3 days the doc says. We'll see. I'm supposed to work my second job three nights next week. WWE wrestlemania, Linkin Park concert and John Mayer. Again, we'll see if I can stand by then.
Jess - do you have any idea how badly I am craving subway right now? I love their buffalo chicken with ceasar dressing. So good. You'll probably be tired of the sandwiches eventually.
Jen - Never heard of them, but it's still entertaining to hear the name of the band. My brother is one of those that calls in all the time. Of course, we have an excellent union and get paid sick days. (which is why I shouldn't be here today) He's been off since last Thursday.
Lexxy - Yay for day one. Don't you leave us for that evil South beach thread...
Belle - It might be the best "diet" but we all have a "lifestyle" - I love overusing that word. It does sound easy enough to follow though.
Kier - have you had the swirl bread? Is it the yummiest? I won't buy it cause I would eat the entire loaf in one sitting.

OK - must hobble to the bathroom now. Here comes 30 more questions about what I did and how I did it. I should wear a placard.

No time for personals except - KT - ouch - hope your ankle heals quickly!

Wanted to share a yummylicious recipe.

Taco Soup
1lb lean ground beef - browned or 1lb soy crumbles
28 oz can crushed tomatoes
15 oz can corn
15 oz can red beans
15 oz can black beans
1 pckg dry ranch dressing
1 pckg taco seasoning

Load all into crock-pot and cook 4 to 8 hrs on low. Serve with tortilla chips and LF cheese and LF sourcream to add to soup. I used lean ground beef and it came to 3 points for 8 servings.

Laura - sounds YUMMY. The ranch dressing makes me want to try it a lot.

My work is being so awesome today. 2 of my coworkers just went and got me lunch so I didn't have to hobble out there and one of them is doing my filing. They're the greatest.
