Talking Feisty & Sexy 50- 60 yr olds NEW #1

Hi Everybody

I started this new thread for us and called it #1. I thought since it is the beginning of a new year and we lost our old threads this would be a good idea.
I hope you gals think so too.

I feel bad for all the work the gals had to do to restore the board for us. Thanks so much Suzanne and all.

I'll be back later. Bye for now.

What a bummer! I feel bad for Suzanne, et al.

It is really cold in MN today - 9 degrees

I tried getting on several times yesterday so thought I'd try today.

Slavika and Lily I'm glad you're starting at 1, too.

Now I'm going to see if I can do something about the journal; I'd like to try it.

See ya later.

G'day all,

What an incredible job for the 3 girls to get this up and running again. Just thinking about it makes my head spin

Good idea Slavika starting at '1'. When are you off on your holiday to Hawaii??? It must be getting close.

MArnie at long last I can say it was cold here last night not quite as cold as down your way but I had a lovely sleep and feel great this morning

DH will be in Sydney for the next 3 weeks and coming home at weekends. I might go over with him for a few days......however spoke to son-in-law on line last night and he said that dd is very homesick and is thinking of coming to Adelaide just for a weekend for one of her good friends 30th birthday. I don't know if that is such a good idea but if she does that I won't go to Sydney.
We also miss her a lot and this last visit was really good. I tried hard not to say anything about her being untidy and she tried hard not too be quite as untidy as she was the last time they were here. All in all there was no tension and it was just enjoyable

I'll go and have breakfast now, just came here first to see if the site was back up again.

Cheers
Maria

Maria: My old picture is back!
I'm glad you had a good night's rest!

I just came back to check in because I thought I couldn't post - but I wasn't tracking correctly. I did try earlier to "register" for the "Journal" section of this board, but could not get it to work.

DH & I are going for supper to a restaurant not too far from the house.

I'll try the journal thing again now. Hope everyone else can log on again.

Hi Everybody
I hope that slowly, we will all find our way back to our "home threads". I had to put my password in to get logged on, but that was kind of it, no other problems.

Maria so your DH is going to go away again, well it would be nice if you could maybe go for a couple of days too. I know what you mean about trying to lose weight when you are eating out all the time. It's very difficult.
DH and I do not leave for Maui until February 4th, almost a month away. When I was out with my friend today I was talking to a sales clerk I see all the time and asked her if she knew first hand anybody who had gone to one of those "Mystic Tan Showers". She said she has a friend who was going to a wedding and she went and her "tan" turned out very nice. I was thinking I might like to go before we leave for holidays so that when I arrive I don't have these STARK WHITE LEGS.
We have a place not too far from us that I thought I would go to but I sure wish I knew somebody who has been. Maybe if I went there I could just "lurk" and witness somebody coming out. hee hee Do any of you know anybody who has gone?

We had a nice tea time yesterday, Trudy is fun to give a present to, she loves everything!
I tried to make her a special birthday cake and it didn't turn out very good. It called for a 9x9 pan and I didn't have one so used an 8x8 and it didn't bake very well in the center and the top was over baked. GRRR When I was out today I found a 9x9 pan so next time the cake should hopefully turn out better.
Bye for now, I'm glad 3FC is up and operating again, and I could come and visit with you all.

Maria: Would be nice if you get to go for a little bit if possible. But at least he is coming home on Weekends. So it wont be so hard.

Slavika: I dont know of anyone who has gone either. I hear about them but I dont have any close to me either. I would go "lurk" like you said. Sorry your cake didnt come out very well. But Im sure Trudy loved it anyways

Trudy: I didnt have trouble logging in. I was really suprised to see my Journal still there tho. I thought I was gonna have to register but I didnt.

Marnie: I would try tomorrow again. Im sure it should be ok by then.

Well the "Bat" came back. DH was home so I told him to go get a Flashlight and come and look. Turns out it is a bird. Really weird as it has its head in this hole and is just hanging there. Would think it would hurt its neck. The hole is only about 2 inches thick. We have them all along the top of the house where the roof is. Weird bird.... But Im glad it isnt a Bat!

Night!

Hi all:
Slavika: Having #1 is a good idea. Thank you.
I couldn't register, and had to get a new pass word. So finally just got on tonight. So this is short and sweet?.

We are having a clod snap for us. will be in the low 40's. I know it is not like -7 but we have turned into little 'hothouse flowers'.

Hope to see you all tomorrow. Ann

Arrgh!! Had a few problems getting back on. Oh someday to be computer literate. I tried a few days ago but the site was down and now I have to read what that was all about. What a mess for them to figure out. Good going Suzanne. Tried to change my name to Peggy but that is already taken and so it Peg.

Just don't know where the time has gone. Been busy taking stuff down and putting it away. Hate that part. It has been really cold here.

I'll bbl for more. Just wanted to see if I could get on.

G'day all,

What a nightmare for the girls the crashing of this site.
Looks like they have had to spend quite some time and effort to get this all back up an running again.
Here's to the 'girls' I am sure I speak for all of us here, you do a fantastic job.

Slavika there seems to be more and more 'fake' tanning stuff out there. Once upon a time (and not that long ago) there were only a couple of products but now there is heaps. Solariums are no longer a good option so the health people tell us, but I have heard also of the spray and I believe the results are great. Worth having a go, I think.

Lily I bet you are pleased it is a bird, albeit a weird one, anything is better than a bat! It is not nesting season is it

Trudy I bet the birthday cake wasn't as bad as Slavika is telling us, I rather like a crunchy top!

Ann sorry you had trouble logging in but at least you got here and it was good to see you! It is still nice and cool here and I just love it, today again in the mid twenties, just perfect

Peggy nice to see you perservered as well. I agree it is a pain having to put everything away again, my house is ship shape again and I am rearing to get into 2004!

DH is very keen for me to come to Sydney and I think I might go next Thursday and come back again on the Monday.
I am waiting on hearing from my dd who is considering coming to Adelaide for her friends 30th. As soon as she knows what shifts she has she will be able to let me know if she is definetly coming and then I can go ahead and make or not make my bookings.
DH is working on a project for Singapore, now I won't mind too much going there for a few months
Anyrthing would be better than Mumbai.
I wished we had a bit of an indication, I would like to do some advertising but there is not much point if I am not going to be here in Adelaide.

Have a great day all,
Cheers
Maria

Hi Everybody

Yesterday when I was out I bought the Weight Watchers magazine and there was a recipe there for,
Rosted Cauliflower Popcorn. It was an ad for "Mrs. Dash". I made it today and it is really good, a little spicy. I thought you gals might enjoy this little treat so here's the recipe:

ROASTED CAULIFLOWER POPCORN....

1 head of cauliflower
3 tbsp. olive oil
2 tablespoons Mrs. Dash Table Blend

Preheat oven to 450F. Remove cauliflower core and thick stems. Trim remaining cauliflower into florets the size of popcorn. Toss thoroughly in a bowl with olive oil and Mrs. Dash Table Blend. Spread cauilflower on a cookie sheet and roast for approx. 60 min(check time at 50 min) until nicely browned. Turn three or four times during roasting. The browner the florets the sweeter they
will taste. Serve immediately. Serves 8...or in my case ONE!!

I'll be back later.

Default FROM DOWN UNDER

Hi Ladies

Well all is over now and I return to the fold only to find that we have been having troubles. I was going to answer everyone and now find that they have gone and we are about to start again.

It is good to be here again and see that there are still all the old faces that I knew so why not, all of us, start our weight control again, a new start never hurt anyone. I hope that you all agree with this.

Well my friends until next time.

Take care,

Jenye.

Angry Hi everyone

Slavika I loved that cake! I need that recipe too.
Cauliflower is not my favorite, but I think I would like it in the recipe you posted. I usually have to make a cheese sauce with cauliflower.
Lily Do you know what the bird looked like, maybe we could find it on the web. I am interested in knowing what kind of a bird hangs by its neck and likes roofs.
Maria I bet your DH misses you when he is away so much. Hope you can see your DD and have a weekend with him.

My DD and came over today. This is her last week of maternity leave, she goes back to work 3 days a week next Wed.

I am still coughing so much, and at times feel like my cold is going to hang on forever. So many people have colds and flu now.

Night everyone..

MAria: I bet it is hard to do advertising not knowing what is up for you next. Have to agree Singapore would be better!

Slavika: Interesting recipe. I will try it. I do love Califlower.

Jenye: Thats right a new start never hurt anyone. We are having a challenge right now just to keep going and lose some weight feel free to join in. How was the hospital werent you going in?

Trudy: Kinda hard to tell when all you see is the Tail. But my Hubby thinks it looks like a Hawk. We just named him Bat Bird for now.
Is it just a cough now? Are you feeling better some what?

Been hard to get here today. Gotta go now and watch friends.

Night!
