  • Wow - buncha posts all at once ... And then I hit refresh & accidentally reposted my reply so I had to go and delete it out again -- too much confusion!

Lexxy - basically I try to keep it between 1200 & 1800 calories. Big range, I know, but if i aim for 1500 I get somewhere in that range. Of course, this only works if I pay attention to it! I'm tracking them on fitday.com and try to make sure that on one of the reports my calories burned are higher than calories eaten.

    Hi again Lori & laura!
  • To all who asked - I love the Winsor Pilates. They certainly get easier when you do them more often. I didn't do it yesterday, so I'm hoping to work one in tonight (I have to clean because my Mum is coming to visit for the weekend!).

The website said my ideal weight is 140. That seems low to me. I have a larger frame. I think I'm ok with saying I'd like to be 145
  • Wow - busy day today.
Robin - That's a LOT of extra work. Do you get overtime or will it all be straight time? I advise STAY AWAY FROM THE SCONES. Scones are horribly high in points. Basically just flour and butter (and of course I like to smother them with more butter and jam). Bacon is low points though and eggs aren't bad so you could do a make yourself egg muffin thing. Another way that might work is if you leave your money in your desk. But the bottom line is, you went down again! Congrats on the 1.8# loss!!!
Angie - I'm the same way, I have a size rather than a weight in mind. I guess I'll see how I look and feel when I get down lower but the numbers 163 just sound good.
Lori - If the music is relaxing I don't think I'll check out the site. I'm so bored at work today I'd probably fall asleep. What did you do at the gigs?

I used the new calculators too, I like them better, they said 159 (closer to my magic number that I'm not thinking about) I like how they took into acount body frame size.
    KT
  • Angie, I'm the same way with having a range. It really depends what I'm doing that day. I try to keep them on the low side in the beginning of the week, mon-wed, around 1400-1500 ideally. Then for the nights that I'm going out, I budget in a few more for the alcohol. Realistically if it's a big night out I know I won't survive on 500 calories for food and 900 calories for drinks. I know that must seem like I'm an alcoholic, I swear I'm not! It's just when you're out patying for a stretch of like 6 hours or more, it all adds up. For nights like that if I'm under 2000, I'll be happy. I'm going to the beach again this weekend, and the drinks will be killer. The bar we go to serves mixed drinks in those big plastic cups -16 or 20 oz, not sure. The beer that the bartender we're friends with serves is all in cans so I refuse to drink them! I'm planning to do vanilla stoli and diet this weekend. Not sure if we'll be there both Friday and Sat. nights, but I hope so.

Robin, I agree with KT on the scone thing. Don't they sell anything like cereal and milk or fruit or something? Or can you just get a coffee and eat your meals how you usually do?

Almost forgot, Angie, I love fitday for tracking my weight, but I never really got into the food tracker they have - they didn't have many brand name items. I use calorieking.com and it is great in case you are looking for another site. I used to use dietwatch.com, and even paid for it for a year, but when my renewal came around I was way off plan, so I didn't renew. Then I discovered calorieking and figured I'd save myself some money.

I think we should all post new pics when we get to goal, or maybe some point this summer. It seems like we've all kind of re-started lately so that could be a little motivation!
  • What a crazy bunch of posters we've been today! I'm SO not motivated to get anything done today, perhaps because the boss is on vacation in Jamaica and I'm stuck here???

Robyn--I cannot imagine working that many hours. The most I've ever done was 60 hours overnight, ick, so I can only imagine what 96 is like. But, you were down at WI, way to go!!!!! Thanks, also, for posting that site. I was a bit bummed to see that it says most of the same stuff I've seen on the WW website. I was hoping it would tell me that I could weigh like oh, say, 170 (about where I am now) and that was ideal for me. Oh well, I guess I still have to lose those 25 remaining lbs...

Laura--I wish I had the nerve to put my foot down when it comes to taking on too much. The lady that I read to on Thursday nights recently passed away, so rather than just have two jobs taking up my time, I took an offer to spend my Saturday nights with a woman... What is it about us--why do we like to take on more than we should??

Lexxy--I usually update my weight whenever it changes. I haven't recently because I keep hoping the number on the scale will go back to what my signature says.

KT--Who forgets to eat?? I don't know the answer to that one, but I can tell you who NEVER forgets to eat--ME!! Have fun at your potluck tonight, I'm sure you'll do great!

Angie--You had a thunderstorm this morning? I'm happy to say that we didn't have any (that I know of) last night. Once again, I didn't get to sleep through the entire night--I woke up at about 5, which seems to be the norm lately. And, of course you can't go back to sleep because you're stressing about how you have to go back to sleep so you can get up in an hour... That's been the pattern lately, and I'm wondering if it doesn't have something to do with how badly I was eating for the last few days. Maybe tonight will be better--I sure hope so. and I hope you have a quiet one, too.

Lori--I went to that site and that was beautiful. What did you mean when you said you used to gig for him??

Belle--It's good to "see" you!! I haven't been around much, but am back this week, so I'm sure I'll see you some more. That's great that BF is doing that race with you. Mike said he'd do Relay For Life with me, but it's looking like he's done with me, so to speak. I wonder if I could get Aaron to do something like that with me. Training together would be such a great experience, I'm sure you'll have a spectacular time! And, yeah, what has Lolly been up to? I vaguely remember her from when I first started coming here...

OK, I guess I should get something accomplished before the day is over....
  • Hey gals! I am having a stressful day but am mangaing to stay on track thus far. My brother is driving me crazy again! Argh! Dh is gone to work until 10pm so its just me & my bro all day. Argh! I was thinking of disappearing for awhile but money is tight so I can't really do anything. i was going to walkbut there's a big storm outside now. Oh well. One bright spot in my day is that my friend who is a missionary in the Urkraine sent me a letter today. I had to laugh b/c she sent me a picture of some graffiti she came across that said "Hi Rina" & had a cute little picture! What are the odds! My name is so uncommon & I've never seen anyone else with spelt the ame as me! I guess there is someone in the Ukraine! Too Funny! It was awesome to hear from her. She's almost been gone a year already & she' one of my best friends. She doesn't have access to email so communication is way too slow for my liking! Oh well-better than none.

A big hello to you all. I might come back later to reply to everyone but I should get off the comeputer righ now b/c my bro wants to use it Hope you are all having a great day!
  • Hello everyone!!
  • All right - I'm nosey. Jess - what do you mean Mike is done with you? Is that why Aaron is still in the picture?
  • OK, I'm going to stay away from the scones. I am just going to bring my own english muffin w/ my icantbelieveitsnotbutter spray and 1 T orange marmalade. 3 points and I love it. It will also save me money as we can charge at the dining room and it comes out of our check. It really adds up. i do get OT for over 40 hours. I figured out that one night I got OT, wekend differential and night differential and was making about $17 an hour for just sitting at a desk and answering the phone. Can't wait to see my ck! Hello to all that posted. Will be back tomorrow. My son has an invention convention tonight, he invented the E-Z Door Closer. Basically it is two cup hooks and a rubber band. You put one hook on the inside of the cupboard and one on the door and then hook the rubberband to it so when you open the cupboard it closes itself when you're done. I don't think we'll be getting rich off it anytime soon. Talk to you later.
PS-It's great to see so many posts!!
  • Hi all. I'm in a rotten mood today and not liking my job. I really miss my old job and the people there. I realize I probably just need to get used to this place, and that it's only been two months, but I've just been down about it lately. I try not to complain to DH too much about it, because he wanted to come here more than I did and I don't want him to feel guilty. It'll get better, right?

Robin: I tried that website, too, and my goal is pretty on target. It said 138, and I would like to be around 130-135. Maybe one day it'll actually happen. I haven't done too well eating-wise today. It's that TOM and I was craving chocolate. I held off all day yesterday but caved about a half-hour ago. Vending machines are evil, I tell you. EVIL, EVIL!

Belle: That's awesome about the race!

    HI to everyone!
  • Well girls, I'm having an awesome food day! I'm finished my supper & I still need to eat 7 points to hit my minimum! I tried some new things today so I thought I'd share them in the recipe thread. I love easy fast meals that any fool can make. Btw if any of you need a low point sweet treat I just discovered these forzen treats called "Shkaers" They are supposed to be a frozen milk shake on a stick. They are only 1 points per one!! Each one is 50mls. The boxes have 12 in them-4 vanilla, 4 chocolate & 4 strawberry. The chocolate one tastes just like a Fudgscicle! Yummy! They are made by Good Humor I think. Maybe it is Nestle. Anyway that's here in Canada so I don't know if you American gals have them or not but you can look. Anyway I should go. I'm going to do my old stretching routine before Survivor comes on. My brother & I went & played some 21 (a passive b-ball game) for 35 minutes & we're all going for a walk tonight for at least 45 minutes. You know I've never been this motivated of all the times I've tried to do this on my own before. I really feel like I can do this this time if I plan ahead. Anyway I hope you all have a good night. Take care girls!
  • Hey all,

I still exist, I've just been busy as of late studying for finals and clearing out the bf's mom's house.

The weight thing hasn't been too good lately and I have been handling my efforts badly etc. I am trying to go back to the basics now which is... behaviour modification.. that's the best way and all.

Kim: It will get better once you get into the swing of things! Here's my problem with my job. I have an amazing cushy government job and ideally the job is great, BUT I really have very little to do and I am getting bored off my @ss. I have a contract for the summer which is great, but I will be looking. The people are great too and they want me to stay, but I need more to do. I'll try and find some projects here and there and I might suggest some, but it's frustrating.

One more exam left then I am no longer a student!

    Ali
  • Rina: Shakers are fabulous... Also the kidwiches which are now called minis are 2 points a piece. Congrats on your good eating day!
