Default Fabulous Wednesday (Hump Day)

Lexxy - I missed that episode of Trading Spaces and I wanted to see it sooo bad because the commercial looked so funny! I actually saw an episode of While You Were Out yesterday afternoon that I had never seen before, so that was cool. I'm used to seeing repeats now hehe

Robin - Ahh...pink eye. That sounds like what my kitten has She has conjuctivitis as a side effect from having herpes.....

Yes, I know, but cats apparently CAN get herpes. They can be diabetic too. My parents had a diabetic cat for a long time. There's also kitty AIDS and kitty Lukemia. For all you cat fans, that is now just more stuff you have to worry about with your cat haha

I did horrible last night at eating. I have to know if this happens to anyone else. You want to have something to eat, but its not specific. So you wait the 20 minutes and you aren't hungry, but you still want it. So then you wait an hour and a half and finally you end up eating 10 yes TEN fig newtons (that's 10 points!) plus some sour cream and onion baked lays potato chips. *sigh* Yep that was me at 8:30pm. I waited from 7pm until I just blew up. But you know what, I would say that maybe I should have just let myself have 1 or 2 fig newtons and then I would be satisfied...well i DID that and I wasn't satisfied and I still wanted more so that is when I waited the hour and a half and then pigged out. Any advice on how to stop things like this? I did this monday...had cravings to eat all day (from 9 am) but stopped myself each time until aroun 7pm i couldn't take it anymore.

Hope everyone else had a better night than me! I'm starting off on the right track today, let's just hope I stay there.

Oh and I'm also looking at getting off the depo provera and using the patch, hoping that will keep me in check with cravings, etc. Witht he depo I get PMS symptons and cravings for weeks at a time. At least with the patch because I will get TOM it will only be 1 week out of the month!

I think all this talk of pink eye has me cursed - yesterday afternoon my eye turned bright red and has stayed that way. It's not itchy or especially gooey, so I'm just hoping it's a fluke thing....I have a big night tomorrow (more on that later) and I don't want to be stuck in glasses with a bright red eye!

Lori, the pigging out at night is what I'm struggling with also. Lately it's like I just can't stop myself from eating, and nothing will satisfy me until I feel really FULL. It's going to get to the point where I'm not going to be able to keep food in my house. Unfortunately, I've never really been able to tie my cravings with my cycle - I'm on the patch, by the way. If that were the case, I'd only have to deal with cravings once a month instead of all the time!

My goal for today is to just eat normally and NOT binge tonight like I have the past 2 nights.

Good morning girls!

I returned Sunday from my trip out east, and then Sunday night came down with a terrible flu virus. I am feeling better, but weak today. I have a ton of catch up work here, and I have classes in a few minutes. I just wanted to let you know I am alive, and I will post properly later!

On the upside, the flu helped me lose 2 pounds in the last two days....

Later gaters!!

Tonya: I am sorry to hear that you have the flu. I hope you feel better soon

Lori: yeah I have heard that with Depo. I am staying away from it since I heard it can cause weight gain (kudos to you for losing weight while on it). Yeah the patch looks cool... I think it may be too weak for me though. Alesse was too weak for me and I think it's comprable.. I am currently on tri-cyclen... It's great for not only the bc aspect, but also for the skin factor.

Lexxy: I am the same, I can eat completely fine around my period and pig out at other times... anyone else do this? You have some danger foods in your house and then decide the only way to get rid of it is to eat it all? I do that :O

Robin: Hey!

Ah, the BF called late yesterday and convinced me to visit him (he'd had a few, but he's so cute when he's tipsy <he wasn't drunk>).. He told me that his best gal pal told him that he could picture me and him getting married and stuff... awww how sweet eh, though I am nowhere near there yet.

Take care!

Ali

My doc said that too, that the patch isn't as strong. Then I said "Well does that mean I can get pregnant" and she said no, so I don't understand that. Dr Lori, anyone, can you explain?

Oh and I can't go back to the pill because of ED and also because I ALWAYS FORGET. The forgetting part is what led me to the depo in the first place. That plus I was still having horrible cramping, etc and could go to work/school for days on end. That is the only reason I'm thinking of staying with the depo. I'm worried if I switch back I'll be all pissy and Jay will hate me and I won't be able to work for 5 days out of each month!

Hello

My name is Angie, and I was wondering if I could join you all. I posted on this board a little last year, and I think I need to jump-start the weight loss again! Last year I lost about 45 pounds, mainly from February on into the summer. I lost the momentum when I moved out on my own and got a "real job!" I was not on WW, but I counted calories and exercised like crazy.

I thought I'd introduce myself so that I can be held accountable for the exercise & eating here at least! And you all seem like a very supportive group - it's nice to "meet" you, online at least!

Oh yeah, i'm 23 y/o and live in the middle of IL -- not a very exciting place, I've got to say

Default Morning all!

Well, I'm not walking the picket line today, although my brother who works at the university library is. It's selective picketing. My office will probably be out tomorrow. And I have fantastic news, I went to WI last night and between last week's TOM gain going away and the evil antiboitics, I was down 3.6#!!!
So Happy!
My dad is also doing better. They took out half his stitches and put him on full fluids yesterday so he got to eat ice cream (very exciting for a man who hasn't eaten in over 3 weeks) So that's a yay too.
Lori (and all the night snackers)- are you eating enough points throughout the day? I find when I don't eat many points during the day, I have cravings at night whereas a nice big lunch and low point dinner (with PROTEIN!!) and I don't have the night cravings I have when I save most of my points for dinner. Mostly, to avoid the cravings, I distract myself with a book or some exersise or sleep. Remember HALT? (are you actually Hungry or Angry or Lonely or Tired?) Works for me anyway and I'm a HUGE nightime piggy!
Lexxy - maybe you're just tired and that's why your eye is red. Try a cold cloth.
Tonya - glad you're feeling better.
Ali - what a sweetie - hope you were entertained by his tipsy side.
Angie - Welcome back! I was down 70# at the end of the summer and by Christmas I had gained 30# back so I'm back on WW going to meetings and following the program and it's working. So hang out with us, it's great to have you back.

OK - I'm going to help the library picketers for my break. I'll be back later.
Hi to everyone about to post or anyone I missed.
KT

Hi everyone! I am starting to get depressed about the way i look . i keep reminding myself that it is for a good cause, and
the numbers on the scale aren't as bad as I think I look, if that makes any sense...

Ali-I remember the drunken phone call well...they can be so cute

With regards to the questions about the patch, i believe it was Ali who said it was the same as the low dose pill-that is correct-it has the same amount of estrogen and progesterone as the low dose pills-Alesse, loestrin 20/1...so if you have breakthrough on those pills, the patch won't work for you...

So, that is what the doctor meant when she said it 'wasn't as strong' as Depo-that was a bad way of explaining it, but the answer is that it has a lower level of hormone(actually Depo only has one hormone-the progesterone). However, even that lower level of hormone is enough to mess up your cycle so that you can't get pregnant...it just means you may have the side effects of too little hormoe-irreg cycles and breakthrough bleeding...

Hi to everyone else from PG -land!!!
Lori

DrLori: Thanks for the info, we all appreciate your medical knowledge. Dang it! Alesse is too weak for me, no patch for me (nevermind it doesn't come to Canada for a while). I am sure you look beautiful, you're bringing a life into the world, it's amazing
