  • Linda, thanks for the tip on Zatarians! I really like their mixes; didn't realize that one was so low! Sorry to hear about all that smoke; glad you are able to keep out of it. And I agree, I wish everyone could meet JOYce (and you!) in person some day! I feel sure that will happen eventually.

Carol, I hope things are going well over in Florida! Looks like y'all won't be getting this latest hurricane after all; sure hope it doesn't hit New Orleans, though. Did any of y'all see that special on PBS about building a wall around New Orleans, as a Cat5 hurricane could flood the whole city so easily? Scary ...

Dh and I went to WW in SA on Saturday; he lost 2 pounds, and I lost one. Did some grocery shopping (it's so hard to get really fresh veggies down here) and some clothes shopping; found two great sweaters, a wool skirt, and a red long-sleeved shirt. Winter, c'mon down, we're ready for some relief from this heat!! Dh is feeling better, but may have overdone it this weekend; when I got back from church, there he was mowing my Dad's yard. He's staying home today to rest up.

Hope everyone has a great week! Hi to JOYce, Janet, and Texaslady!

  • I'm home
It is VERY smoky today! My friend just called, I am supposed to pick her up for ceramics class, but the fire has moved this way and is just over the hill from her, over 2 hills from me! My dd called to see if I was being evacuated, was the first i knew it was so bad. We may skip ceramics today to stay home and watch the houses. When they start evacuating, they don't let anyone back in til the fire is contained...I don't think it will get that close to me....but there are ashes in our yard and my car was covered with them when I left to take dgd to school. I'm not worried!!

Had a great weekend with sis! Went to the Relay for Life in her little town on Saturday, what an awesome event!!! Was very emotional when she walked the track with other 'survivors' and other sis and I released a huge bunch of yellow balloons in her honor! Lots o tears n hugs all day! we also went with her to get her hair cut very short because she is starting to lose it. She looks great and is feeling too good to 'be in the shape she is in'.
It wasn't great for my first week back at WW! Hagen dass was giving free ice cream at the event, so that is what we had for dinner on Saturday

dh , dgd and I are going to the LA County Fair tonite, I'll do more walking than eating, and be ready for a WI on Wed.

Hi to all! i feel like I need to do a lot of 'catching up'! Hope the hurricanes mis all you gals!!! how scary!!
  • JOYce, we have the Relay for Life here too, in June each year. I've walked in it each year, and it really is inspiring, especially seeing all the survivors. Their spirit and courage always moves me! How awful that the fire is so close to your home; I sure hope it hasn't come any closer! Good luck at your meeting today!

Since we're on a second page, I'm going to start a new thread; see everybody over there!
