  • Myra,
Take care of yourself and rest up! It's great that the procedure went okay. Those kind of problems can really affect your life, every aspect of it. Now you'll be on the uphill road.

    Terri,
Hope your cold gets better fast! What a great thing your hubby did for you.....do you go with a friend? Sounds so relaxing; and of course it's normal to miss the kids!

    Essie, Dianne, hi!

We're having a beautiful snowfall here today. This morning we awoke to about an inch, now we've got about 2 to 3. It's coming down in big fat flakes...so pretty. I've already shoveled once, looks like I'll be getting more exercise later on!

  • No measurable snow here yet. I'll actually glad. While it looks so pretty, it sometimes gets isolating. Everything tends to freeze here. There is nothing worse than icy roads. But I wouldn't mind a white Christmas as long as we really don't have anywhere to go.

    Myra
  • Hi guys!
My husband does that about twice a yr. I usually take my 14 yr. old with me. Just the last 2 yrs. She loves her privacy and she leaves me alone when I want to be alone and then when I need company she is there. But this time I only have 1 night so I'll be alone. I have had 2 nights the other times.
    He's a sweety.
I hope I have a white Christmas in Ohio.
That sounds beautiful Jen. Hope you have a mild winter Myra. Have a great Friday.
    Terri
  • Hello everyone

HAPPY FRIDAY! Here in NY we are supposed to get light snow. I love the snow but I hate driving in it. I have 2 appts today. One for my nails & one for a drs appt. I've had pain in my left elbow for sometime now. I didn't mention it because I thought it would go away. I noticed it's been getting worse so I went to my Dr. & she said I have tennis elbow with tendonitis! I have no idea how I got it. So I have to go see the specialist this afternoon.

I bought my tree & now I really have the Christmas spirit. It looks so pretty & it smells so nice.

I've been OP all week & drinking my water but have been so busy I haven't had time to exercise or be on the computer as much as I would like to be. There's so much inspiration on these weight loss sites that I don't like being away too long cause I feel like something is missing. (other than missing you guys )

Last week when I was up 3 lbs. it was water. By yesterday I was back down the 3 lbs & it looked like it could be a little more. I'm psyched

Terri, everyone needs rest & relaxation. Your hubby sounds like a great guy. He realizes he has a very special lady.

Jen, the snow must look beautiful. My hubby usually loves to shovel. He goes around to shovel all the neighbors doorways. Me, I watch. That's a great way to get in your exercise.

Myra, I'm so glad you're home resting. You'll be yourself in no time. I heard the change in WW start Dec. 10th. I'm considering on rejoining. Are you going to rejoin soon?

Dianne, I haven't forgotten about you. I'll be e-mailing you & Myra this weekend.

    Have a great day

    God Bless
    Essie

  • I'm going next week to learn about the new program.

    Myra
  • Essie,
    Good luck at the weigh-in.
Take care of that elbow. That sounds painful. Watch driving in that snow. We don't get much down here. When we do the city goes crazy because we don't have the equipment like up north. Growing up in Ohio it is funny to watch the people ho crazy down here.
Thanks, my hubby is pretty great. I wouldn't shovel either. LOL
    We still have to rake.
Take care and have a great Friday.
    Terri
  • Hi everyone:

It's snowing lightly here in NY, don't think we'll get much. I love the snow when it first falls, so beautiful, but unfortunately, it becomes this dirty, icey mess, especially in the city.

Terri - enjoy your special night -- sounds great. I remember you telling us once before that your husband did that for you -- he's a sweety from St. Petey, LOL. (just a crazy saying I have - don't know where it came from!)Have a great, relaxing time.

Myra - Hope you are doing better after your surgery. Take it slow and easy.

Essie - Congrats on those 3 lbs - terrific!!
I'm looking forward to hearing from you this weekend. Sorry to hear about your elbow, be careful and take care. It makes such a difference when you put your tree up, doesn't it -- so cheerful. I like to put out the lights in the living room and just stare at the tree, nice and cozy with my hubby on the couch. We don't usually put ours up until the week before Christmas, since we keep it up for Three Kings as well and it would get too dry. But I can't wait.

Jen - Hi hope you are well. I can almost picture the snowfall you mentioned. Must be beautiful - are you in the country?

    Talk to you all soon.

    Dianne
  • Thanks Dianne.
Yes, he does that every mom's day and once in the Fall since we had kids. 14 yrs. Especially if he is away on TDY for a few days. Be careful in the snow. I love to do the same thing , looking at the tree. Also have the fireplace going and a few candles. COZY!!!!

    Thanks again Myra
    Terri
  • Terri - TDY????

    Dianne
  • I'm sorry. That means Temporary Duty. He works for NASA. Sometimes he has to fly to the Kennedy Space Center (Our old stomping grounds in Fl.) and work there for launches and things like that.
    How is everyone?
    Terri
  • Wow....so many posts.

Dianne, no I don't live in the country. We're in a suburb of Chicago, about 20 miles northwest of the city. Far enough out to still have sidewalks, city water, but no congestion... or enough mail boxes! We have lots of trees and foliage, so it's pretty when it snows.

Terri, your description of the fireplace and candles sounds like home. We must all be of the same mindset. I love nothing better than to light a fire and snuggle up on the couch w/a throw.

Essie I had been diagnosed once with tennis elbow. It was very painful, but I was perplexed, as I didn't play tennis. Turns out, I had recently gotten a new haircut, pretty short. I developed a painful elbow from the way I was blow-drying my hair! by modifying how I turned/twisted my arm as I was drying, along with some pain killers, I was able to eliminate the pain. Good luck!

I hope that all of you have a great weekend.

    Jen

  • Hi,

Jen, tennis elbow is very painful. All Dr. gave was a prescription for Vioxx & he's sending me for a brace that I probably won't even use. I know someone that had to wear the brace & she said it's uncomfortable. What pain meds. did they gave you?

I'm trying to get out when the stores open so I will be back this evening.

    Have a great day everybody

  • Terri,

What does your husband do for NASA?

    Myra
  • Essie,
I wore a very simple elastic band-type brace on my forearm, just below the elbow. As far as I can remember, I was given a naprosyn type medication for the inflamation, along with ibuprofen.

I suffered from this ailment 5 years ago. It's never returned since. Hopefully you'll get relief from the Vioxx. Have you determined what activity/movement is causing your pain? I would think that once you discover it, and eliminate it, you'd have the same success I had. Good luck! let me know.

Tonight I've got a dinner with my ex-coworkers. We've been having a yearly Christmas party at the home of one of the women who is a fantastic cook. She's Mexican, and makes the most awesome dinner for us. I'm looking forward to seeing my friends again, it's been a few months. Since Mexican cuisine is a "trigger" food for me, I intend to concentrate more on visiting with my friends than on eating!

    Have a good weekend, everyone.

    ~Jen
