  • Just wanted to say HI! to Winter. You must have been posting while I wrote my novel-post! Anyway have a great weekend
  • Hi everyone... Yup, it's me. I was lurking for the last 3 weeks out of frustration. I am getting over it tho!

First off... Jess..... You are the sweetest. Thank you for noticing that I disappeared and thanks for sending the search party you!!! It means so much knowing that at least one person noticed my absence!!

I was going to weigh today at the gym, but was not allowed to go since I am having back pain. I am bummed too because I think I have a loss to record! Arggggggggggg... I have been doing real well this week, after having several bad weeks! I am journaling again too. I did one of those... I know what I am doing, why should I journal. Well, 2 weeks ago I was up a couple pounds because of it! Don't know where I am at now tho!

Kirsty and Tonya... you hit the button on the nose with your posts. I couldn't have said it better!

    OK, back to work now.
  • Oh and I forgot.... I turn 30 in 2 weeks.... so all those 30-somethings that are still hanging on the 20's board... I am in the same boat!
  • Jen ~ I missed you! For some reason I was thinking you were in Vegas. And, welcome to the boat! I turn 31 in July...thank goodness these "younguns" don't care we stick around!!

    Welcome back!
  • Tonya, I leave for Vegas on May 9!! I was gone in early April to Maryland for work. Anyhoo, my Spring goal was to lose 10 pounds by Vegas.. I have 6 more to go and no clue where I am at since I couldn't go to the gym today. I don't think I will make my goal! Oh well.
  • Howdy Girls!!!
Hi Girls! I have 15 min while I eat my lunch - I went to the food court and bought a veggie wrap with salsa and minestrone soup. came back and read the posts and was glad I opted out of the fatty crap.

Kirsty, Jen and Tonay that was just what I needed to kick my *** into gear. I have been feeling really bad lately, with my new job etc, I have not been exercising, even walking to work (weather, we were late, amillion excuses) and letting myself go "over" in points.

I was at my sister's house recently and she was like "wow, you look so good since you lost all that weight" but I was thinking, I still have like 45 to go and I haven't been working at it in months. Plus, I started a new pill that bloated me all to **** and I gained 7 lbs back. So I feel even worse. I want to get back in control and "grit my teeth"......

So, thank you all for your notes on reaching goal.

Kirsty - I hope you feel better soon!

Lexxy - enjoy your drinking nites out as long as its not becoming a habit...

Star/Angie - god, its been so long since exams, you know I actually miss them now that I am in the "work world".

Kier - DAMN. When I am in NY you aren't there, when I am in Ireland, you aren't there...maybe we are doomed to not meet?? Oh well, cyber buddies we'll have to be! Good luck with Confusing Boy.

Becky - congrats on your "almost" engagement. So far I have lost like 50 lbs and my ring size changed by 1/2 a size....I dont' think you'll have much to worry about.

    Hello Jess and Winter.....

Rina - Be careful not to get caught up in losing a certain amount before your wedding - yoiu should just enjoy it and know that you are going to look awesome b/c its the one day you'll have to do that in your life!! (I hate public showers too....)

Jen - I was gone too so I didnt' notice, but I would have . Vegas, eh?? Woo hoo - you be good!!

Well, I better get back to work......it is super busy here - christening by fire I tell you!! But better that than slow, right?? I think so.

Weekends are always the worst point-wise for me, so to all of those in the same boat, good luck!!!

  • Thought I'd check in once more before heading out for the weekend.

Rina - I've no doubt that you will be beautiful on your wedding day - after all - you're marrying the man that you love - how could you not glow just thinking about that! Your post sounds as though you are pretty down right now and that a lot of your frustration is coming from how you feel about your weight. Considering that you are planning a wedding, moving, and handling all those other things that come with living life, it probably wouldn't be easy to dedicate yourself to losing weight for the wedding. Maybe you should think about choosing one or two healthy things to do for yourself between now and the wedding (and make sure to do them everyday). That way you have something to feel good about in relation to your health without increasing the number of things going on in your life that need your attention.

Jen-L - congrats on journaling so faithfully. Hopefully, your back will feel better soon and you'll be able to see the scale results of your effort.

Belle - I can't believe that you actually miss exams! I'd rather work 80 hr work weeks with no end in sight then contemplate taking another exam!

Well, ladies, I need to wrap a few things up so that I can leave here at a decent hour. I got asked to go to the bar by colleagues again - different ones this time - and have agreed to go. I can't believe that I'm going to be out and about 2 Friday nights in a row! I know that's nothing for a lot of you girls but I've always been a homebody with a tendency towards shyness. Once nice side effect of losing weight is that I'm a lot more willing to go to unfamiliar places or meet unfamiliar people.

    Have a good weekend.

    Winter
  • Well, ladies, the day is about done for me as well. I need to run to the grocery store and rent a couple movies for my little ones. My son (he's 3) wants to watch ET tonight, so that is the plan.

I won't be online this weekend, so I will talk to you all on Monday.

Have great OP weekends.....and don't drink too much!!!!
  • Hey girls...Please excuse my awful hair in this picture, but I have a recent digital pic and I wanted to share. If any of you remember the old pic, you'll notice a weight loss difference in my face (It's a headshot...)

B/f and I might be moving to a new apt in our building tomorrow. Its $50 more a month, but still really cheap and we'll get a balcony! We are viewing it at 8:30 am tomorrow (blech!)

Have a good OP weekend (I am off to a good start, having a tuna sandwich for dinner!! Wow... )

    Winter, I do miss studying.

I loved University and even though it was hard at times, and gruelling with working almost full time as well, it was somethign I was doing for me. Working is different. Although I must say, when I was doing communications at the Women's Shelter, I was very fulfilled and loved workign. For the past year, I was at a big oil company and the people were mostly idiots. I went to HR over the VP's inappropriate behaviour. Now i am at a better company, permanent full time, and I think it will be good again.

I am doing community relations (communications) primarily, with landowners and stakeholders. Its fun and can be more fulfilling. I love to write and I get to do that there too. Its only my first week on the job though, so we'll see!!

Tonya - ET! Woo hoo! I love it. I am going to go with my sisters and mom as an old time's sake thing. Mom took us all 20 years ago. We had a blast.

Well, off to a hot bath and bed.

Hey, where is Lolly and Ali?

Ali, if you are reading the posts, I hope you are feeling better about your puppy....!! I am thinking about you.

Kim - how is b/f??? Did you get another car? What is new !??

Lolly - well Cartwright (the illegal hamster) is doing good, getting HUGE now and we got him a 2 story house. But he doesn't go upstairs! He freaks out and wants to come down. B/f is going to line it with linolium so his feet aren't on bars....poor guy. He is most amusing though, when you clean his cage he gets POed and knocks over all of his stuff, his wheel, dish, etc. With his teeth (the wheel is metal!). Wierdo.

BTW I love living common law. We are so happy. B/f and I had a defining moment and I was ready to walk out and he said not to, I might have mentioned that. anyway, that opened a new chanell of communication and we are talking openly about future, etc. We are even on eachother's work benefits. Go figure. I guess somethings take longer in the end!?

    Okay - really off now.

Can you tell I missed posting????
