Morning,

All is going well for me, I am basically waiting for my clearance to start my job, it will definitely be different and all, but it should be good. I gave my notice at my retail job so I guess you can tell my decision. I killed my knee onm Friday and have a huge nasty bruise there now, but overall I am okay so it wasn't a huge big deal, it just doesn't look pretty and I can't kneel right now, but that's okay.

Jess: Good Morning!

Take care!

Ali

Default My post

Hi guys! Well, I'm feeling much better today that I did on Saturday (no more pity party) and I'm happy to say that I successfully managed to re-locate my motivation and am feeling much better. I think I just needed a couple of days to let myself eat what I wanted and now I'm ready to go back to weight watching.

So, did everyone have a nice weekend? Mine was pretty uneventful. Went to the bar on Friday with some friends--the weather was awful, when we walked out of the bar, we were shocked to see that our cars were absolutely COVERED in ice. That sucked. Saturday, I went to a friend's house for a little get-together. And I went to BF's last night for a little while.

The most exciting part of my weekend was on Saturday--before I went over to my friend's house, I stopped at Petco to pick up guinea pig bedding and while I was there, I stopped to look at their pigs and was stressed to see that one of the little sweety peas had an eye that was totally crusted shut. I know no one would buy her since she was sick. And I don't blame people for not purchasing a sick pet, you pay $25 for the pig and an additional $50+ for vet bills. But she was so sweet I just couldn't let her be snake food. So I bought her. And I'm taking her to the vet today. I already have two g pigs, and I now have a third. I named her Petunia. After I take her to the vet, I'm going to call the store and ask for my money to please be refunded--that store has sold two sick animals to my family alone. (We got a chinchilla that was deathly ill but nobody took notice of his runny poo until we were on our way home. He got better, but he got our other chinchilla sick and that one didn't make it.) Pet stores that don't take care of their animals make me very angry. Depending on how ill Petunia is, I may call the Humane Society and see what can be done about it.

OK, enough of that. I better get some stuff done. My inbox keeps growing even though I'm scooting right through my work.

I'll check back later, K?

Jess: That is so sweet of you to have adopted that guinea pig! I got my second dog sort of along those lines. I hadn't really planned to get another dog, but I stopped at one of the SPCA's Adopt-a-Thon's and there was this sweet dog who had been at the SPCA for 3 months. She was older, about a year, and that was probably why no one had adopted her. She was a such a sweetheart. I played with her for a while, went home to think a little, and I went to the SPCA the next day and adopted her. She has been an absolute joy. Her name is Stella. She got a bath this weekend and she's a big fluffball!

But back on topic ... I agree with you that you should contact the Humane Society about the animals at the pet store being sick. It sounds like there's something that could be done.

I got on my home scale this morning and it showed 186! Whoo-hoo! I hope I can maintain at least that until WI on Thursday. I haven't been counting points dilligently, but I have been watching my portions and not snacking.

Speaking of food, time for lunch!

Kim,

I agree, Jess is a real sweetheart! I hate to see animals suffer, it is so sad!

BTW ~ Here is a link to a few pics of our new puppy. He is fully trained now, and can "Sit", "Stay", "Come", and "Heal".

He is sweet.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Don't want to talk about weight and eating. I am not having a good go of it!

Default I'm here but can't stay long :(

Hi all! Things for me are super busy. I love the new job and I get to travel a bit. I have a quick question for all of the mommies out there. I am having some symptoms and want your opinion. I have had a pregnancy scare before if you recall, so this might just be another case of bad PMS. This might be TMI, but what the heck. I had spotting on day 5 and 6 post ovulation and now (12 days past ovulation) my boobs are almost too sore to walk with, I'm a little tired, and a little nauseated. I know I have asked this before, but what were your symptoms? We are all different, but I'm starting to get a little worried. A pregnancy would be OK now I guess, but I would feel weird about telling my new boss about it. DH and I also have no house, no family car, and only a small down payment for a home. BUT, on the other side, I am 26 (not old, but older), our marriage is strong and settled in, and DH says he would be a stay at home dad if I wanted to work. So I guess I am just a little scared and want to know. I'll probably test Saturday if af doesn't show. Thanks for listening to me ...

Kay,

I have had three pregnancies, and all of mine were about the same symptom-wise. I didn't have spotting, but many of my friends did. The biggest symptom for me was sore breasts (which it sounds like you have). I never had morning sickness, so I can't comment about that. I have always been a real "regular" girl (TOM wise) so the three times in my life I was late with my period, was when I was pregnant.

Good luck, let us know what you find out!!!

Hey crew!

How is everyone? Did you all have a good weekend? I had a good one but not so good OP-wise. For some reason I just could not stop eating Reeces Pieces! I ate like 6 boxes in three days! Argh! I'm over it now but it was totally compulsive on the weekend. Weird. I'm up 1lb since last week but I'm not at all suprised. I feel a lot more motivated today & so far have been a good girl.

All you Canadian girls if you want to see a great movie go watch Men With Brooms. Its a movie about curling but even if you're not a curling fan you'll enjoy it. Its got great humor, a little romance & some funny-violence. It was really well done. Finally they made a Canadian movie that was good quality filming etc. Plus you should all go just so you can see Paul Gross-man he's such a cutie! Back when he was on Due South my Mom & I had to watch the show together every week just so we could drool over him. YUM! In Saskatchewan they showed a short film first & it was one on Rider Pride with Bent Butt, the comedian from Humbolt ( an hour or so from here). It was funny & it had lots fo little Saskatchewan-isms in it but it the film making quality was crappy. Anyway just thought I'd share my thoughts. DF & I paid full price for MWB just because its a Canadian-made movie but it was well worth it

Belle, sounds like you had a good trip. GLad you enjoyed yourself.

Jess, goos to see you motivated again. You're a sweetheart for taking in a sick animal.

Ali, how good does it feel to be getting out of retail? Good work girl

Kim, that's great you're showing a loss at home. Keep it up

Tonya, the pics of your puppy are adorable!

Kay, glad to hear the new job is going well. Let us know if you turn out to be pg! That's so great that your hubby would stay home! He sounds sweet!

Hello to everyone else! Talk to you later

-Rina

Kay, here were my sypmtoms. No spotting, sore breasts and completely exausted by the time I got home from work. I actually thought I had a bug, but instead I was PG... but we were trying, so I was really happy. I had no energy to do anything all day long. Just a little nauseous, but not much. And really no morning sickness. Hope that helps!!

I was super busy at work, so this is all I have today!

Oh and Kay, my SIL got a job and was 1 month PG at the time. If you are, tell them right away. That is what she did and they were OK about it!

Default Hi Girls!!

Hey guys!!

Ali - how did you kill your knee? Poor thing...I actually fall all the time, so it isn't so bad anymore...

Jess - I think its so great you didi that. I can't let an animal suffer either. My second dog, like Kim's, was a homeless dog. He is so loveable, I don't regret a minute (or all the vet bills!!) But you should complain to the SPCA, that isn't right!!!

Kim- woo hoo on 186!! How are you girl? I miss you, I'll e-mail you and catch up. In short: bf things are much improved, but work still sucks....wanna hear how your life is!!

Hi Tonya!! My computer sucks, so I can' topen the pics of your puppy, but I am sure he's a cutie...I love puppies!!

Kay - my boobs get super sore everyonce ina while from PMS, but you s hould check it out. Never been pg so I don't know. But good luck either way honey!!

Rina - I PMed you

Hi Jen!! how is your cutie Emma doin'?

Well, back to work (home working overtime)....

Love Belle

Tonya: Zeus is a cutie! What a great name for a dog. I met two English Mastiffs last month and their names were Zeus and Apollo.

Kay: Can't help you, since I've never been PG either, but I would say that if you're worried/anxious/just want to know, take a test to find out for sure.

Speaking of PG, I found out a married couple I'm friends with is having a tough time getting pregnant. She's already tried fertility pills, that didn't work, and now they're trying injections. If that doesn't work, they figure they'll adopt. She has a hormonal condition that would apparently not give in-vitro a high probably of working. I feel so bad for them! They were so excited when they decided to start trying and now they've been dealing with this, which has been an emotional and financial toll.

Belle: Well, I HOPE I'll lose! I got on the scale again today and it was back to 188. Grrrr. I suppose eating crap for two days will do that, including birthday cake last night. My dad came through town on his way back from visiting family up north, and yesterday was his birthday. So my sister and I made him a strawberry cake, with fresh strawberries and real whipped cream. Mmmm ... i ate only a small piece, but had another piece for breakfast today.

Hi Rina, Jen and Ali and anyone else out there!

Well, must do work, I suppose.
