Dori, next year since I'll be in GA longer, we'll have to meet up! I saw a sign for Jesup, and I told Bob we should go there and just drive around and I could call out your name. He just rolled his eyes!! I also had gestational diabetes. I do try and watch the sugars and carbs, but not as much as I should. I have a glucose monitor, but I don't use it all the time. I'll test my blood every week or so. It helps me just to know how I'm doing.

I looked at your foods that you listed. The only thing I can think of (hubby is diabetic) is that maybe some more protein during the day? Not sure though.

Tina, I had to laugh about how you can't get to certain sites on the computer. My 2nd graders tried to find out info about the Loch Ness monster, and they were banned from going to the site!!! The next day one of the 3rd grade teachers went to check something, and a porn site came up! Now why wasn't it blocked?? Glad your computer is back!!

Tim called about 8:45 to say he was heading home. He arrived about 11:30. Usually takes an hour. The roads were bad, and the visibility was awful. Our county was on a Level 3 emergency because of the snow and drifting. They were arresting people for being out. Glad Tim didn't get stopped!! We've had 11 inches of snow, and the blowing has drifts everywhere. Glad we don't have to do our own shoveling anymore.

Susan, enjoy the snow! And I have to say no to the guinea pig. Sorry about that!! (NOT!!)

Tim and I talked to Bob about Disney earlier. He said to go for it! He said we should fly instead of driving down which was what I had planned to do. Now we'll check out flights. Also need to check with my friend that works there. She told me when we were leaving there the other day to give her a call about coming back down. She said none of their family is planning to come down, so she'll get us a discount for the rooms and tickets! I love being her friend! lol I did have a good time hanging out with her, her husband, DIL, and some friends. She and I have been friends since elementary school.
Next year when we are at Jekyll, she and her hubby are going to drive up for a couple of days.

I weighed this morning after I ate breakfast. I was up a pound, but that's ok since I had just eaten. Getting back into a routine will help. Not sure if I'll start going back to the Y this week or wait till the next week when Tim is back at school.

Hi,
It was a beautiful day here. I went to exercise, so I was proud of myself. I really wanted to just stay home. Pat worked outside some. I then cooked filet mignons for dinner. They were pretty good.

No babies yet. I think the momma is going to start staying at home until she has the babies. They go back and forth to school with me everyday. I'll just take the little one. Hopefully she won't have a bunch of them. I have 2 of my friends that want one so I'm glad. I actually won't have to deal with getting rid of them because the Science center would take them. That's where I got these 2 from, and they take care of anything that I need.

Tammy, Disney would be fun. I can't believe that they are giving tickets for driving in the snow...... you can tell we don't get that much. ya'll be careful. I'm glad that Tim got there safely!

Tina, glad you go your computer back. I know you are so happy. Wow Larry goes back to work, that is a major step.

Dori, diabetes is one of my biggest fears!!!!! I check my blood sugar when I go home. I know it will make my dad check his.

Any new guinea pigs yet?? That's good that you'll have a place to take them.

The roads were really nasty, and by giving tickets, it keeps people off the roads that don't need to be out. Many less accidents this way too.

We have our reservations for Disney and the flights! Woo hoo!

I want to move my butterfly again!!!

No new guinea pigs yet! I counted the days up and it is anytime give or take a few days. Especially since I don't know the exact date.

School was good today. One this week and it's spring break. I'm so ready for it. Pat is taking the week off with me.

Tammy, when do you go to Disney? How fun!!!!!!!! I am so glad I don't live where it's SOOOOOOO cold. I would be a popsicle!!

We are a pretty quiet bunch this month, aren't we!
I've got an almost earache. Boy, I only remember having one of those things. Since I made an appt. with a dr., it's stopped hurting. Naturally! I've had some congestion and that is probably the problem. My dr. isn't there tomorrow so I see someone else. I don't like going to another dr.

Tammy, glad you and Tim can have some fun.
Susan, how are your parents? How's Amy?
Dori, tell us how your eating menus are going.

I've got to get some rest.

Susan, that's great that Pat is also taking the week off!! Woo hoo!! We leave for Disney on May 5, and we'll return to Ohio on May 10.

I agree about the quiet group. Tina, I agree about seeing a different doctor. When I went to the convenient care in GA, I was a nervous wreck!! Hope you are feeling better.

Since we have been home, I haven't been sleeping the best at night, and when I get up in the morning I can hardly move because my lower back hurts so much. I'm taking the night time medicine that I'm supposed to take, and it doesn't seem to be helping. I took Tylenol PM the other night, and I slept better, AND my back didn't hurt as bad in the morning. I go back to the rheumatologist the beginning of April, so I need to talk to her about it. Bob and I are also thinking that maybe we need a new mattress. Ours is about 10 years old, and we aren't small people, so it has really gotten a workout.

Does anyone know anything about the Sleep Number beds??

Hi,
I am doing pretty good. I'm just counting until 4 pm tomorrow. I just want to sleep. I went and picked up Arbys for dinner. I got a strawberry milkshake... BIG mistake. They always upset my stomach but they are so good. I then ate my sandwich. ice cream seems to be a feel good food for me. My assistant left yesterday and went to the hospital. she is still there. I am doing everything myself. Meaning no lunch (suppose to get a duty free lunch) no planning period (she goes with my kids) so I'm doing good to get to go to the restroom during the day. So I'm just a little tired.

Tammy, I think you do need a new mattress. We do too.

Tina, those Care clinics are pretty good if it's something simple. I would go there. I'm glad your ear is better.

Ok, tomorrow I plan on doing better on my food.

Morning all,
I know all the teachers are ready for spring break. My sister teaches (her last year before retirement) and is ready for the bell this afternoon, too.
Susan, have a great week off. I'm sorry about your tummy ache.
A little r&r should take care of that----and NO strawberry milkshakes.

Tammy, you definitely need a new mattress. We just bought one and it really makes a difference. You have a great trip, too!!!

Dori, now we haven't heard a peep out of you recently. I want to know how you are, girl.

I must complain about my doctor's appointment the other day. The woman dr. was just "okay." She said I had lots of wax built up in my ear. So, she left and the nurse came in and put in drops. Then, she sent in a woman how didn't look like a nurse. She did the ear washing and was horribly rough. After I yelled twice, she stopped. It got most of the wax out of my ear, plus blood! The dr. was apologetic but said my ear drum looked fine. Grrrr..... I went home and took 1/2 pain pill before I went to bed.
My ear isn't bothering me now, thank goodness. Larry goes to his ENT dr. next week. I'm going to tag along and ask her to look in my ear.

Everyone have a great day and a fantastic weekend.

Okay, did everyone leave town for the weekend----like I did.
Susan, we went to the outlet mall in San Marcos and then to San Antonio. I thought about you. We ate supper at the Barn Door on Sat. night. Yummy!!!
I totally blew my program. I am not going to weigh for several days.

How are all the members doing?

Susan, we did Arby's for lunch today. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and some of Tim's curly fries. We picked on the manager for a while. He was one of my students when I taught 5th grade. I think he was in the 3rd or 4th year of my teaching career. Then I had him again in Junior High! Tim worked for him at Arby's a couple years in high school. He be working for him this summer too.

Tina, what kind of mattress did you get? I'm asking people for their opinions. lol I am so sorry that you had to go through that at the doctor! I wouldn't have been a bit happy. Must be doctor time. Bob goes to the liver specialist on Tuesday. We are making a list of questions and concerns to take with us.

We didn't go anywhere, just busy doing things around here. It was nice having Tim home. He's back at school, and I know he is happy to see his girlfriend. They didn't see each other over break. We are planning to take her to Michigan with us in July.

Tina, I agree about the weighing. I just feel like I've gained a gazillion pounds. By the way, I haven't had TOM since the beginning of December. Do you think it could be official now????????????????????

Hi,
I'm officially on spring break!!! Not a day too soon!!!! Pat's taking the week off too. We are getting projects done around here. Took both cars for oil changes, etc.... Then he did some electrical stuff in the garage, like putting up new lights and wiring.

Saturday, I was pretty much a waste. I had a killer headache so I didn't do much except try to get rid of it.

Wednesday and Thursday, we are going on an adventure. I don't know what but he says it's going to be a big one. We like to get in the car and go for rides and explore. He asked me tonight if the guinea pigs would have enough water if we were gone 2 days. So I guess we will be gone over night. I have no idea where we are going. I'll keep you posted.

Tina, I have very small ear canals and would have to have them cleaned out as a kid. I remember how painful it was. Your dr. was a jerk! You poor thing. Yum!!! The Barn Door!!!!

Tammy, It's strange to have your former students waiting on you. Glad Tim got to spend some good quality time ya'll. Tammy..... I'm JEALOUS!!!! I'm ready for no TOM

No guinea pig babies yet. If she doesn't have them soon she is going to explode!!! She is huge. I can feel them kick if I put my hand on her stomach. I don't pick her up for now because I don't want to hurt the babies.

Hi,
Susan, would it be best to leave the guinea pigs with someone while you are gone? What would happen if the mama had the babies and had problems? (I've watched to many doctor shows. )
Tammy, we bought a Sealy Posturepedic, firm. It's great!
Dori, where are you hiding???
Maureen, what happened to you?
Susan, how is Amy doing?

Tina,
I thought about that too. I thought poor little pig would have her babies without me.... that would be my luck. She is acting strange tonight so I'm hoping that is a sign.

Amy is doing pretty good. I think she is seeing a pulmonologist sometime soon. Hopefully he will help her with her asthma. It's all related to her allergies.

Mom is having her sinuses cleaned out on Tuesday. I think she will feel so much better once it is done.

Oh did you want to Piggy sit???

Hi all! We had some connection problems yesterday, so I didn't get in here.
The dr. appt. went ok. The liver enzymes are still elevated. The doctor was concerned that Bob was still drinking, but we assured him he has had no alcohol since the beginning of September. He said it is imperative that he have none at all if he wants to live. If that's not laying it on the line, I don't know what is. Bob told him that he has had no interest at all in drinking.

The glucose level was 245 which is way too high. It wasn't a fasting result, but it is still too high. The doctor is letting the family doctor know the results, and Bob is supposed to go to him and possibly go on medication for that. He was on a med several years ago and just stopped taking it. The doctor also told him to start taking a vitamin. Hmmmmm. His dear sweet wife has been saying that for ages, but he didn't trust me I guess.

We go to the tax lady to sign things today. Have no idea if we are getting back or paying in. With the retirement, I received severance pay, so that might determine what happens. We went into a higher tax bracket I think. I used to do our taxes, but the past few years have been so weird with buying a house, retiring, selling a house, and the inheritance Bob received. Got too confusing for me. Maybe next year will be more normal. Oh, and the investment stuff is confusing too!!!

Tim has to work this weekend, so after church on Sunday (if I go), we'll be headed to spend some time with him on Easter. His gf isn't going home either, so I told him we'd all go out to eat. Wonder if McDonald's is ok with them????? lol

Susan, I can't wait to hear about your adventure!! We enjoy doing things like that!!

Tina, I am ready to go check out mattresses. My back is killing me! The one we have is pretty firm, so I guess I need a softer one. Maybe it's because of the arthritis and fibro?

Sunshine this morning!!!!!!!!!!! We need it!!!!!!!! I went to get my haircut yesterday, and there were so many flooded areas. I was glad that I was in the van since it is up higher.
