Good morning!

Weigh in was last night. I was a little disappointed because after my five-day stretch of being good, I expected a little more pay-off. I lost .6 lbs, but was hoping for a little more. Oh well, maybe I just need to make that stretch last longer and I'll see more loss next time.

I didn't make it to the gym last night because Tuesday nights are just a little too hectic. Besides, missing it on my WW night doesn't feel quite so naughty.

It's still pretty early and I'm struggling to think (much less think of things to say), so I'm going to go eat my oatmeal...

Bye!!

Wow today is going to be soooooo slow. I am thinking about leaving at lunch. Clients don't tend to come in when the weather is bad. If all of you recall earlier in the wk it was almost 60 degrees out and today it is snowing and sleeting and freezing. This is typical Michigan. My sister got married on April 8th a couple of yrs ago and it snowed. It does make life interesting I guess. I am definitely getting a cold and I really want to be at home in bed. I am done babysitting so I will be able to sleep in my own bed. Yay!!

Ok does anyone do anything exciting for Valentines Day. I am one of those who think of it as just another commercial holiday contrived by Halmark BUT I may use it as an excuse to squeeze some flowers out of b/f Seriously though I just htought it might be a fun topic for the day. B/f will still be in bed with his knee so I am thinking I will get take out and rent a movie or something. Please tell me that some of you will have a bit more of a romantic time My options are limited but let me live through you Well ladies I chatted a lot yesterday so at this point I don't have a whole lot else to say. Have great days at work and please post a lot b/c I will be bored
Thanks, Becky

Angry Good morning!

Hi girls!

Becky - The weather here is the exact same. It was 60 on Sunday and now this morning we have almost 3 inches of snow on the ground and it isn't expected to stop until tomorrow. Last year I went to Phoenix in April and it was snowing on my way to the airport. And we wonder why we always get sick! Take care and feel better. Sorry I don't have any exciting Valentines Day plans that would allow you to live vicariously through me! A group of my girlfriends and I have an annual single girls sleepover the weekend of Valentines Day. Of course, the attendees somewhat change from year to year, but I am always there!

Jess - A loss is a loss! As long as the scale is moving down, it is a good thing! Sometimes the body is a bit slow and you may see a bigger loss next week. Keep up the good work!

Nothing new to report here. Still trying to sublet my apartment so I can move into my new place on March 1st. Still waiting to hear from the law schools I applied to (although I will definitely have an answer from one by Feb 15th!) I am getting a bit nervous now that it is getting closer - working full time and going to school at night for 4 years is a big commitment. But it is what I want to do, so I keep telling myself that all of the hard work will pay off!

Talk to you all later!

Hi Becky and Jess!!

Becky ~ I think that is a great idea for v-day. DH and I will probably not do anything. I am away on a business trip that day, and will probably get home around 6 p.m., plus we have our kids, so I don't know how much "romance" we will get in!! I will also "live thru others"!!!

Jess ~ Way to go on the loss, I think any loss is a good one! Next week you may see an even bigger one!!

Not much new with me. Still OP, walked the dog this morning, and walked on my treadmill. I truly enjoy walking in the mornings rather than at night.

Well, better get to work, I will post more later!

Default Good Morning!

I skipped WI last night and spent time with hubby. It was nice, I made tacos and put refried beans on mine. I take a can of refried beans, put a little enchildada sauce in it to keep it from drying out while I warm them and then put about 2 oz of 2% cheddar cheese in it until it's melted. Yummy!! I'm not sure of the points, but I'll look it up!
The weather here is nasty, too. On Monday when we didn't have any water, it got up to around 70 degrees. Today, we have freezing rain over most of the state. Luckily it was warm the first part of the week, so only the bridges and overpasses are freezing right now.
I did step on the scale at work this morning. It shows I'm up but I surely wouldn't doubt it. I so need to get motivated!! I brought my tennis shoes to go walking at lunch and by gosh, I'm gonna!!
Happy day to everyone! Boss went 'out', but should be returning any mintue. Bye for now!!!

Jenn- The single girl sleep over sounds like a lot of fun. I know what you mean I wouldn't even have enough single girlfriends left to have one with. I am one of the last. My older sister and I live together and are both unmarried and my two younger sisters are both married. WE always tease that we will be onl spinsters(sp?) and get lots of cats and knit and stuff. Actually I do want to learn how to knit

Tonya- Do you recruit for your school you work at? Just curious b/c my friend that worked at a college got to go on cool road trips recruiting. That would be fun. I am impressed with your early morning walks

Jess- I have to agree that A loss is a loss. Go with it. If you continue to stay op the weight will come off.

Stacey- How will you walk in this crappy weather. I truly cannot believe this. It sound like a lot of people are having it htough. I have to admit that it is really pretty though. I have an office on the corner so it has two windows and I am really enjoying watching it snow. Yes I am just soooooo overworked, Poor Me
Where are Kirsty, Belle, Lolly, Jen, Ali, etc. etc.? Where my girls at?

Good, good, now that other people posted, I have more to say.

Well, it sounds like everyone is having weather. I'm in Nebraska and we're waiting patiently for ours to happen. This winter has been the mildest I've ever seen. We've had a total of about 2 inches of snow for the entire season and it's been warm--over the weekend it was in the 60's--I had my windows open! It got cold and icky yesterday, but still no snow or anything... We're supposed to get 1-2 inches tonight and 4-6 inches tomorrow. I do so hope we get some, I love snow!!

Not sure what I'm going to do for Valentine's Day. The thought of making it a girls night had crossed my mind, but everyone has boyfriends, so I have a feeling that won't work. I think that instead of doing that, I'm going to record The Vagina Monologues (premiering on HBO on V-day) and maybe have a girl-night sleepover the night after Valentine's. I think for the actual night (and Becky, you could do this too--it doesn't require much activity outside the bedroom--err, home), I might surprise the boyfriend with the same thing I did last year (I'm hoping it'll become a tradition). I'll make my cheese-loaded lasagna bake, we'll rent a movie, then I'll take him to my candlelit bedroom, blindfold him while I "slip into something a little more comfortable" and surprise him with his gift (now, I just need to get him one...) and with homemade chocolate-covered strawberries and squirt-can whipped cream.

Is that too cheesy? Oh well, cheesy is what Valentine's is all about, in my opinion. He liked it last year, so I'm assuming it'll be OK again this year.

Well, I do have more to write, but I better get a little more work done. Perhaps I'll stop back by later.

Default hey cool chicks!

How are you all today? Yesterday turned into one of those days where you should've just stayed in bed. It was one mishap & another. I ended up having a little bit off ice cream (STRESS EATING!). Today I'm back in the game I went to the dr this morning to see if we can do anything about the sleep stuff but my dr doesn't really think there is anything we can do-just relax more & try to handle things better. I don't know. THat's what I've been trying to do all along. Oh well...

As for Valentine's we usually just go out for supper & exchange gifts. Sometimes we hit a movie too. Nothing too romantic. One year my honey tried to do romance & it turned into this huge debacle. Horrifyinag at the time funny now but we promised we wouldn't tell anyone else so I'll just laugh about it to myself

Weather here still sucks. Its still really really cold. Its nice & sunny though but as my Grandpa always says "So what you have a light in your deep freeze too"!! Too funny! Supposedly by Friday we'll see a little more humane temperatures but that's what they last week too & it was totally wrong anyway.

Guess whats hilarious!! For Christmas I bought my 6 year old brother a guinea pig & I talked to my Dad this morning & the supposedly male guinea pig had three babies last night!!!! Too funny! I made sure at the pet store to ask for a male because I know those things are baby factories. Guess they couldn't tell the difference either! My Dad says he's not impressed but then he tells me maybe he should buy a make & then mate them & sell them to the pet stores! Yeah he sounds really upset about it!

Stacey, way to be motivated! I hate the cold so much that I just won't exercise outside in the winter if I can help it. Good for you!

Becky your idea of a basket for your bf is really sweet & thoughtful

JenK, don't stress out over hearing from the schools. Its out of your hands now. I haven't seen Kim around in awhile either. HOpe she's doing good. Know who else hasn't been around in ages? Sarah, I wonder how she's doing. Or Shalyne? Now that I think of it there are quite a few people who were busy posters & haven't been around too. Come out come out wherever you are!!

Lolly your new hair sounds awesome. Share a pic when you get a chance. I love the idea of a colored wedding dress! I wanted one that was white with red but my Mom & my DF are both very conservative/traditional (translation BORING! Oh I mean...) when it comes stuff like this so we compromised. I really l;ove this dress though. We're going home this weekend & willl hopefully get our flowers picked too. Are you having real or fake flowers? I think real are so much nicer but fake ones are way cheaper. I guess I'd better make up my mind soon.

Tonay, I agree with walking in the morning. Its so much easier to enjoy it when the worries of the day aren't hanging over your head.

Jess, a loss is a loss! At least the scale is moving inthe right direction. If you keep it up it'll happen. Long term is really LLLLLLLOOOOONNNGGGG! Sounds like you Valentine's might be a little racy! Have fun!

Hi to everyone else! Hope to here from you soon Oh yeah, I heard from Jen3 today. She is reallly really busy so she hasn't been able to pop in lately. She's doing ok with her WL journey though. anyway I've babbledlong enough! Talk to you all later

Here I am!

I've been sick and I didn't feel much like looking at my computer. I missed work Monday and Tuesday, but I'm back today and feeling better. I have a sample pack of antibiotics from my doctor just in case I get worse!

What's funny is that I ended up with a 5-day weekend, and couldn't even enjoy it. I was off Friday because I had too much overtime building up. That was a good day ... I got an hour-long massage, part of a gift certificate that BF got me for Christmas. I never had a massage before. It was heavenly. I still have a 2-hour "fingers and toes" package to use! But, Saturday I started to get a sore throat, and by the evening I wasn't feeling too great. Sunday I felt awful, and I didn't start feeling better until yesterday. I think it's just a bad cold, and it's not going to be bronchitis. Yay! That was part of the reason I decided to take two days off ... to rest and make sure it didn't turn into somethng worse. By yesterday afternoon, I even took my dogs for a little walk. (Very little. With the help of my inhaler).

Well, I'm going to rejoin WW this week, probably tomorrow night. I'm going to try a different meeting this time, to see if that helps. Ny new goal is to get to 175 by March 16, that's about 13 lbs. March 16 is the Virginia Press Association banquet. I found out yesterday I won an award, and I'd like to look better by the banquet!

Valentine's Day ... NOT one of my favorite holidays. It just seems so fake. Shouldn't our sweeties be nice to us the whole year through, not just on a Hallmark holiday? (Plus, I'm bitter because BF has to work that night.) Since we never really celebrate, I'm going away that weekend to visit some girlfriends from high school. There will be seven of us ... most of us haven't seen each other in almost 12 years, since graduation. We suddenly all started emailing regularly, then decided to meet, and decided to do it sooner than later. The weekend of Feb. 15 just seemed to work, we're coming from Seattle, Dallas, Chicago, Virginia, Upstate NY and North Carolina ... and meeting at one friend's house in Massachusetts. The Saturday night we're there, we're renting a limo to take us to Boston for some fun! I can't wait.

Well, time to go meet BF for lunch.

Default Funny dog joke!

Some employees bought their boss a gift for his birthday. Before opening the gift, the boss shook it slightly, and noticed that it was wet in the corner.

Touching his finger to the wet spot and tasting it, he asked, "A bottle of wine?" His employees replied, "No."

Again, he touched his finger to the box and tasted the liquid. "A bottle of scotch?" "His employees replied again, "No."

Finally the boss asked, "I give up. What is it?"

His workers responded, "A puppy."

Default Funny Joke!!

Hahahaha!
How is everyone's weather? My DH just called and said tree limbs were down on both ends of our street. It's been raining all
day and freezing. Our trees and houses look like huge popsicles!
I confess. I didn't walk at lunch. There is a building across the street from my building where you can walk inside. You can also go through the tunnels to get there so you don't even have to go outside at all. It's nice, but I was in such a hurry, I just had a subway sandwich and got back to work. I also forgot a snack and whenever I eat breakfast at home, I have to bring an orange or something to eat around 10 am especially if I'm walking at lunch. If I don't eat anything, I don't have enough energy to walk. If I walk after I eat lunch, then I get bad cramps. It's weird how our bodies work, huh?
Hey, my sister has been lurking, but hasn't posted yet. Her user name is bbellis, so if you guys see her, then say hi! She's using the ww at home. There are a few of us here using that, isn't there? I should qualify for that since I haven't shown my guilty face at a meeting in three weeks. Argh!!!!!!!!
Well, it's getting close to quitting time. At least the streets are still just wet and not freezing yet. The weather men are worried about power outages with all the falling limbs and stuff. That would suck!!!!!

I'm here in the Chicago area and the weather is bad too. We have a good two inches on the ground and no end in sight. And its a wet snow. I'm not going to go on a walk tonight because of the weather. I'm so bad.
