Thursday Chatters

The other chatters was almost 3 pages. Time to start a new one!

How's everyone doing?

We would love to have some new faces :) or voices here. If you follow the WW plan, we'd love for you to join us. We give great support, advice, and friendship here.

Tammy, how are you feeling? Is your blood pressure back to normalcy yet?

What did everyone do this weekend?
I worked in the yard. My visit to SF inspired me. There, most people do not have grass--no yards. But, I saw so many plants. Some people had window boxes filled with flowers. Some had a little tiny piece of earth by the front door of their apt./condo/whatever. There were plants, flowers, even tiny strips of grass.
So, here I am with all this yard and no flowers. NOW I have flowers! I planted mums and red flowers (don't know the name). I even bought some large pieces of grass to fill in the dead areas.
My goodness, my muscles really hurt last night.

Today I pigged out on colas. I had 3 diet colas today! :( tomorrow I drink gallons of water to make amends.

Hi everyone

I didn't pass away I just haven't been doing anything for months. It's time for me to get moving. I haven't weighed in for I don't know how long & I know I've gained weight. Woke up this AM & there's snow outside!!! Normally I'd use that as an excuse not to go for a walk, but I really have to get doing something so right after I post this I'm putting on my jacket & heading out for a half hour walk. Today I will watch what I put into my mouth(no more chocolate bars or chocolate muffins etc). I've just been a regular porker.

I hope everyone has a good day OP & today is the start for me

I'll be back to post when I come home from work & let you know whether I stuck to my guns.

Tina You make me envious!! We're getting snow & you're planting flowers!!

maureen

Tina 10-22-2001 03:51 PM

Greetings group,

Maureen, I knew you were out there somewhere! Welcome back to WW. Did you get to walk this morning? I just can't believe it's snowing somewhere. :)
How are your sons & husband? I guess you are very settled into your new (?) home now. It's been awhile since you moved.

Hey girl, I see that you are jumping ship and going to the Friday Weigh In thread:mad: :nono:
We would be glad for you to stay here--but, no pressure. ;)

Tammy, how are you today?
Susan, did you have a hard time waking up for school after the weekend?

Dee, did you work overtime this weekend?

Sis, I have my fingers crossed for you. You'll get to your goal.

Tina

Tammy 10-22-2001 08:02 PM

You are planting flowers Tina? I am ready to pull ours out! Need to save the icky part of the marigolds and use them for new plants next year. I think planting silk flowers would be much easier.

Snow Maureen? I am not ready for that yet. It was about 75 here today. Of course, I spent time on Saturday putting in the storm windows in our family room. This afternoon I wanted the screens back in!

My BP is doing much better than it was on Thursday! Sure was scary.

I need to call the dentist tomorrow. I either lost part of a tooth tonight or part of a filling. It's a never ending battle with me lately. Seems like there is always something going wrong.

Have a good week everyone!!

Tina 10-22-2001 08:14 PM

I guess planting flowers does seem a bit different to most of you. Here, people have been planting more for a couple of weeks. Do y'all plant mums or is it too cold???

I did pretty well OP today. I guess weigh in will tell if I'm changing gears to lose.

Tina

Tammy 10-22-2001 10:23 PM

Some of the neighbors have mums out. They are so pretty! They put sheets over them on the nights that there is a chance of frost. Don't think that will be this week! I can't believe how warm it was and will be all week. So much for wearing my Halloween sweatshirt for the party on Friday. It will be too warm.

Tim was still sweeping up leaves tonight in the dark. Glad the mower has headlights! The town picks up leaves every day if they are out by the street. We live right at the edge of town so ours are usually blown around with the traffic that is speeding up when leaving town.

Time to hit the pillow. Have I ever told you guys how much I like sleep???????????????????? :D

maureen k 10-23-2001 12:49 AM

Good evening all

I stuck to program today & I did go for my walk. Tina, it's been a yr since we moved & I'm still having problems with my 2 sons(they can't seem to budget their money & are always borrowing from us-they never seem to give it back). My husband says that the bank of kempster is now closed & they're either going to have to smarten up or be out on the street. I know that that's the only way they'll learn & I have to stick to my guns even though it will be hard.

My oldest son got remarried Oct 13 in Calgary. Geoff(my husband was in Ottawa, so I went down) it was a very small but nice ceremony.

Since I was last on these boards I've gone back to my old employer(got a 6000. a yr raise & the use of a car)-my hours are 2PM to 10PM & I'm really glad to be back there. I was gone for 3 yrs but it seems like I never left. More money & less pressure.

Well here's to another day & I will be back tomorrow.

take care

maureen

Tina 10-23-2001 10:16 AM

It's another beautiful day.
Tammy, is it report card time there? My sister teaches and is busy doing her cards. Would you believe, the kids receive them on Halloween.:D That seems like a real trick.

Maureen, I'm happy you are enjoying your work. Wow, what a raise!!!!!
Children, we love them so & they can be so exasperating. Our son is at a job that's not going anyplace. He is stymied. I keep offering "wonderful" suggestions of work. We have a friend at church that's a lawyer and maybe could get him a job where she is. The son will not call her.
David does editing, proofreading, tele-marketing, computing. He was a journalism major in college.
It's very frustrating when he won't take advice. But, he's a grown person now.

Susan, are you still with us?

Dee, Laura, Linda, Sis???????? How's it going?

I'm going to get my hair cut today. Yea----maybe an ounce less weight. :)

Tina

Tammy 10-23-2001 09:17 PM

Yes, it is grade card time here too. The end of the 9 weeks is this Friday. We have to turn the grade cards in to the principal the following Friday so he can sign all of them. (pretty silly thing to do. Must have a boring life!) The students will receive them on Nov. 5. We'll have conferences after school on Nov. 8 and 15. Makes for a looooonnnnnggggggggggggg day.

Maureen, your old job sounds like a Godsend for you! My hubby's brother sounds like your sons! Sometimes they just have to be forced to grow up and face the consequences of their choices. It is hard to do though.

We just heard this week that a local factory is closing down the summer of 2002. They had already cut way back on employees, but still had 300 working. People that have been there for 25+ years will be out of a job. So sad.

My hubby had planned to get a part-time job to help supplement the real estate income. I think he's going to have a hard time. Scary.

maureen k 10-24-2001 01:04 AM

Hi all

Just about finished with day 2 & even though I cheated & had a chocolate bar I still managed to stay under my points. Does anyone else have a problem with chocolate? It drives me nuts & always seem to have cravings for it. I wish I could eat so much of it that I'd get sick & never want to eat it again!!!

Tammy to bad about the factory closing down. I always hate to hear about companies closing. Alberta seems to be booming right now. Here in Edmonton I see signs all over looking for help. I know our office is pretty busy. We send out general labourers to different companies & we're sending out over 200 men a day.

I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow & I'm going to keep coming back it may keep me honest on my program.

take care

maureen

Tina 10-24-2001 10:28 AM

Happy Wednesday,
Tammy, I've been wondering how things are going on the real
estate front. Any more sales? I hope!!!! :)

Maureen, you can do this!! I'm so glad you have decided to stick with it. And, YES, I don't know of anyone who doesn't have a problem with chocolate. When we were in San Francisco, of course, we went to the Ghiradelli shops. I was happy with myself for coming home with only
one candy bar for myself.

I hope Susan isn't ill. We haven't heard from her in ages.

Okay group, I'm on my way out to walk. Good for me.

Tina 10-24-2001 11:13 AM

Me again.
Okay, now I have a mini goal. My good friend, who lives 2 hrs. from me has invited me and Larry up for a weekend in November.
So, I have at least 2 weeks before going. I'm shooting for losing 4 pounds by then. Is this possible---maybe losing lots of water retention???? Y'all help me keep focused between now and then.

Tammy 10-25-2001 07:33 PM

I NEVER have a problem with chocolate. Yea, right. Love that stuff!!!

Real estate has not been a booming business here. He had the 3 sales last spring, but nothing since then.

Tina, you can lose those pounds by the get-away weekend to your friends. Good luck!!

One of our high school students died early this morning. Not sure of the details. I've heard that she had been sick and died in her sleep, I also heard suicide. She was only a sophomore. I didn't know her, but my high school aides both knew her.

Tina 10-26-2001 10:51 AM

I'm sorry about the high school girl dying. I imagine it will affect the whole school.
Tammy, I'm sorry your blood pressure was up. Hopefully, by losing more weight, that will bring it down some. How is your eye doing? Are the stitches out yet?

Susan----where are you??????????

Maureen, how are you doing, girl?

Do y'all remember Jill? I think her wedding is in November. I wish she'd write again.

Dee, do you have to work late this weekend?

Sis, are you weighing in tonight? Good luck!!!

Good luck to everyone with staying OP today. Take it easy. :)

Tina

DeeX 10-27-2001 12:22 AM

Hi girls

Yep I work this weekend, but it's not so bad at times. I only work on Sat normally, and didnt volunteer for Sun...LOL...let someone else do that day. Nothing much planned for tomorrow, have a soccer game to watch...last one this year :dizzy:

Hang in there Tina, you'll loose them pounds before your mini vacation! Just remember to drink lots of water. How did your walk go on Wednesday? Did you get to walk the other days too?

Mmmmmmmmm chocolate.... gee I sound like Bart Simpson now. I dont have troubles with chocolate, I love it and it loves my hips and thighs *haha* But as long as you counted it in your points and didnt eat the whole bag Im sure you'll be fine Maureen. I can agree with your idea bout eating so much of it you never want it again....so far it hasnt happened.

Ok Im off to lala land  have a great weekend everyone and do your best to stay OP!
Dee

Tina 10-27-2001 01:06 AM

Why on earth am I up so late???? That's a good question.

Dee, I have a great walk on Wednesday - it was cool and pretty. I walked again yesterday. Today, I parked as far away from the grocery store as I could. That was my walk.

I wish I knew someone so I could go watch soccer games.

Everyone have a good weekend!
Tina

Tammy 10-27-2001 05:23 PM

The girl from our high school that died had toxic shock syndrome!!!! I hadn't heard about that in years. I'm so relieved that it wasn't suicide though. Not as hard on family and friends.

I've thought about Jill so many times. Weren't we supposed to sing or dance at her wedding?????

My family doctor thought my eye looked pretty good. Still have the stitches though. I'll get those out next week.

I think losing more weight will help the BP. I need to start walking after school again. It's so silly not to. I can walk in the building and do the steps inside when it's nasty outside. It's just getting up the energy to do and having the willpower to stick with it.

Tim is going to a Halloween party tonight with my nephew. I'm sure they'll have a great time. I'm glad the boys have fun together. Tim is 13, Jonathan just turned 15. My cousin Chris and I were always so close, so it's nice to see them close too.

auntie 10-28-2001 05:44 PM

Hope ya'll are sitting down!! Because it is really me!!!

I just figured out why I hadn't gotten messages saying there were new post. I hadn't signed up for this thread. :)

Well, things here are busy!!! What else is new? Pat's band played last night. I went out with a couple of friends. It was fun!

I worked on my Christmas cards for a little while today. I'm making them this year. Plus I have this obession that they have to go out the day after Thanksgiving. So...... I have to keep making them until it's time to send them out.

I've come to a major decision in life!! I'm not putting off things any longer!! YOU ONLY HAVE ONE GO AROUND!!!

Hope all is doing well. It sounds like ya'll have been. My girlfriend started her chemo on Friday. I'm going to start taking her on the days she has to go so her husband doesn't have to take off any more work. It's the least I can do... I'm still worried sick about her!!

Well, off to go start feeding animals and thinking about supper. Not sure what we are having. Hopefully, nothing that requires too much work.

Have a good one. I'll try not to be a stranger.
Susan

Tammy 10-28-2001 09:30 PM

Making your own Christmas cards? I am such a klutz!!! I usually try to get mine sent soon after Thanksgiving also. Not sure how many I'll be sending this year. Need to cut back.

We went to see K-PAX this afternoon. I hadn't heard anything about the movie, but hubby and son thought it would be good. I was expecting a comedy, so it wasn't at all what I thought it would be. It was funny in some spots. I did enjoy it, I think!

I ate like a piggy today! Need to hit the restart button in the morning!!

Have a good week everyone.

Tina 10-28-2001 10:14 PM

We went to see "K-Pax" on Friday night. We couldn't get into the 7 o'clock showing so we waited until the 8 o'clock one. Of course, we had all this time to wait so we had to do something-----we ate ice cream!!! Not just any ice cream---they had a Marble Slab in the lobby. I never want to know how many grams of fat was in that one enormous scoop. The movie was different.

Susan you're back:D
I was really getting worried about you.
You know, I was thinking about making some of our Xmas cards this year. We just put in a new color ink cartridge, so, I'm all set.

I hope your friend does well with her chemo treatments. You are a good friend. Keep us posted.

I did pretty well OP today. I'm drinking a real Coke right now. I should be drinking water, I know. Oh well, tomorrow it's back to exercising and water.

Tina

auntie 10-29-2001 07:29 PM

Hey Girlies!! :)

It is good to be back! Thanks for being great friends. May not know ya'll to see you but you are definitely friends!! :D

Ok, now for a confession. :o I started the Diet Center 2 weeks ago. It is very much like WW, but you have exchanges. You know... all the same things just different names! They have one of those programs where you can drink your meals... NOT ME!! I have to have real food. As of today, I've lost 10 1/2 pounds! I'm am taking this very serious. :) The one thing that helps is that I go 3 times a week. It only takes about 15 minutes. She weighs me and wants to know how I'm doing. I had to do something different since I wasn't having any luck nor motivation with WW. Please don't kick me out of the group.

K Pax looks good. Is it worthy going to see? The best part of the movies is the popcorn. I live for the popcorn.

Susan

Tina 10-29-2001 10:49 PM

Let's take a vote--All those wanting to get rid of Susan say, "Cheese"
All those wanting her to stay say, "chocolate"

The chocolates have it :):):):)
Susan, I'm glad you've found something that works for you. Don't be silly, you can't get rid of us. ;)

Dee, I like your 3fatchick name, "Thursday Team"

My dear husband bought me a computerized Singer sewing machine. It is soooo fantastic! My lessons don't start until next week. Tonight I've been reading the instruction book.
I've learned to thread it. That's progress, don't you think?!?
Now I have to lose my weight. I can make a winter suit and all sorts of things. I'm so excited!

auntie 10-30-2001 06:59 PM

Thanks for not voting me out!! :) I would cry:( What would I do without ya'll?:?:

I hope this works. Maybe if I just got serious with WW, I would have been successful. I do like going a couple times a week. I need that right now.

Tina, I'm jealous of your sewing machine. I have one that is about 10 years old. Once when I was thin, I made most of my clothes. I loved it!! As I grew, I hated to sew. Plan on doing once I return to the skinny world. ;) Sounds like retirement agrees with you!! I haven't heard you say one time, you miss work.... GO FIGURE :D

Tammy, I'm still amazed that the girl died of Toxic Shock. I didn't know that still happened either. Sorry about the loss. It's never easy when a young person dies.

Hope ya'll are having a good day. I love this weather. I sat out in my porch swing for awhile, it was so peaceful. I would like to do that for a living. If I could only make money doing it!!

Susan

Tammy 10-30-2001 08:53 PM

Hey, I haven't really been doing the WW program for quite a while and I'm still here!! LOL

K-PAX isn't going to win any major awards, but the more I think about it, the more I think that I liked it. I think I need to see things sometimes that makes me appreciate my life more than I already do.

Today was Ashley's funeral. High school students and teachers left the school about 9:30 and walked to the funeral home. Very moving. The HS is attached to our building, so my kids were curious. We talked about what happened and how the older students were going to pay their respects to the family.

Everyone is surprised about the toxic shock thing. Makes you want to be even more careful about that TOM.

A sewing machine? and people are making Christmas cards? I am in with the wrong group!!! I have trouble threading a needle, am not artistic at all, and can't figure out most things on my computer.

I have Handwriting papers to grade and I DON'T WANT TO DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just thought that I'd mention that.

auntie 10-30-2001 09:08 PM

Tammy,

Don't worry, I'm not artistic either. My sister is into stampin and she has gotten me into it. It's alot of fun. I still need to see things already done up in order to make it. I'm not creative and have no imagination. :)

I bet the funeral was moving. It's good that you talk it over with your kiddos. They need to know what was going on.

I hear you about TOM. I need to be more careful myself since TOM is here now.

I'm sorry you have to grade handwriting papers!!!!!!!

Susan

Tina 10-30-2001 10:34 PM

count me in as not having great creativity. I have trouble figuring out what pictures to hang and how to hang them.
I'm with y'all--I need to see it done in a magazine or something.

I DO miss my job as church secretary - BUT don't miss the minister, others in charge, and all the hassles. I DO miss my paycheck. However, I'm not going back for nothing:lol: .

Yesterday, I got in my hammock and just watched the sky. Wow , that was so peaceful. Susan, I would love a swing on my front porch. That's sounds wonderful. I bet it's pretty, too.

Tammy, hang in there, girl. Don't go cross-eyed grading the handwriting. :)

I'm not looking forward to weighing in this time. I need a swift kick in the pants. I'm just not journaling, which helps, or drinking enough water. Boooo.....

Tina

DeeX 10-31-2001 12:15 AM

Happy Halloween!!

Well tomorrow is halloween, and I havent a thing to wear so I'll just stay in my jammies, wear em to work, and call it a costume... haha...you think that would work  ?

Glad to see your not running off Susan! So what is the Diet Center program like? It does sound like you are enjoying it right now....hey what ever program works best...is the best one.

Tina, I tried to think of a neat name....senior member made me feel tooo old, and this is the best I could do. Thanks for liking it.

Have a great rest of the week everyone...
Dee

auntie 10-31-2001 09:02 PM

Boo!! Hope you are having a safe and Happy Halloween!!

Tina, wish I had a hammock! I love to sit outside and appreciate life and nature. I plan to do more of that these days. Hey, glad you are enjoying retirement. I understand about the paycheck, that's my favorite part of working. :)

Today, I actually got to work with kids. Normally, I'm doing paperwork and meetings. It was great!!

Dee, cool about wearing your pajamas to work. This way you can stay in bed a little longer. :D

The Diet Center counts exchanges. It's like the old WW when they did exchanges. I get so many of proteins, fats, fruits, starches etc...... When they are gone, you are done! The first 3 days, you drink a protein shake for breakfast, protein bar for lunch and a dairy product, and a normal dinner. It's to help train you to get things undercontrol. It hasn't been hard. You are eating at least 1200 calories. I go 3 times a week and weigh in. I like it! I've lost 11 1/2 pounds so far.

Did ya'll have a bunch of trick or treater's? We had none! :(

Susan

Tammy 10-31-2001 09:23 PM

We weren't home for Trick-or-Treat. It was on Sunday afternoon and that is when we went to the movie. I still have 2 baggies filled for my nephews. I talked to Danny (3rd grade) at school. He said, "YOU WEREN'T HOME!!!!" Hope I didn't traumitize him for life. LOL

I love to sit on the glider on our porch. It's enclosed, so with the screens we don't have a bug problem. The dog, however, is a problem. He has to be right next to me or on top of me. He loves it when the glider moves.

A friend of mine does the stamping thing and makes cards for everything. I'd probably just get the ink all of me!!!!

Diet Center sounds good. I like the idea of being able to go in 3 times a week. Makes you stay more OP since you are going more often than WW.

I can't believe tomorrow is November! This month flew!

DeeX 11-01-2001 12:06 AM

No trick or treaters at my house....we were the trick or treaters :D
took the kids into town and spent 2 hours going from house to house! I didnt walk much of it this year as my foot is messed up, I have a heal spur and boy is that painful to walk....but I did walk a bit just for the fun of it. All in all it was a good evening, and fun for the kids.

Why no trick/treaters for you this year Susan? Yep, the Diet Center sounds like the old WW program, except for the W/I part. Do you have to go 3 times a week? I can't make once a week at WW lately! But your doing great so far Susan!! Keep it up :)

Tammy, Lucky you didnt get your house tricked *S* since you werent home...guess its a good thing most kids dont do mean things on halloween....at least they dont in my town (its small).
Ahhhh sounds like you have a nice time lounging on your glider. And the "no bugs" part is perfect!

Its a new month, and a new day tomorrow....everyone do your best to stay OP!! and have a great day.
Dee

Tina 11-01-2001 12:07 AM

Boo, too!!!

The only treat or treaters were from our block. Everyone is being extra careful this time. I have all these Milky Way & 3 Musketeer miniature bars. Not a good thing. I hate to throw them away but I can't let them stay in this house.

Susan, I always liked the exchanges in WW. I liked them much better than the point system. How often do you pay? Is it weekly or monthly?

Tammy, a glider sounds great.

Dee, did everyone have to dress in costume at your work? My husband took today off to work on the house. He was happy it was today because they were "told" to wear costumes. That's not his thing.

Have a great OP day tomorrow.
Tina

Tammy 11-01-2001 09:43 PM

Dee, last year I was dealing with a heal spur. I had a cortisone shot (that made me almost pass out). It helped for a while. My doctor recommended that I wear better shoes. He didn't think my $10 shoes from Wal-Mart were a good choice. I am now wearing Birkenstocks. They are expensive, but they are well worth the price. I also wear inserts in some of my cheaper shoes. I bought the inserts at Wal-Mart (I think). It has really helped.

Tina, I'd be glad to take that candy off your hands!!! LOL

I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. Long week. The interpreter has not been there the past 2 days. We've handled it, but I know it gets frustrating for the little boy sometimes.

DeeX 11-01-2001 11:23 PM

Tammy I remember you talking about your heal spur last year. How long did it take to get better? I've been dealing with mine for a very long time now, and it doesnt seem to get better. I've tried 2 different inserts....one the doc recommended (which made my foot hurt worse) and a set from Walmart...which dont do much. I have one more set that I bought (accidently :dizzy: ) which I should try. Also bought 2 new pair of shoes....that had a lot of cushion in the heal area....I dont want a cortisone shot!!! I've had that once...and I did pass out from it, wasnt too fun.

So my walking right now is mostly when necessary... unfortunately I have to walk at work alot....strange thing to me is that even when Im off my foot then step down on it, it hurts big time!

Tina, only the ones that wanted to dress up at work did so. We just do fun things at times, and let those that are brave enough, or silly enough to dress up :) But it was fun, and there were lots of laughs that day.

Can you believe Im gonna pass on your candy bars Tina? I even gave a bunch of little candy bars away today instead of bringing them home....my kid got plenty of candy the other night, and Im gonna keep it at "grandma's" instead of here....less tempting :)

Have a great weekend all......Dee

Tina 11-02-2001 09:42 AM

T G I F

Dee and Tammy, have y'all tried Dr. School's inserts?
They are advertised all the time. I know that they're more expensive than Wal Mart's but maybe it's worth a try

I didn't have anyone to give my extra candy so I threw it all away this morning! Yes, I'm so proud of myself. Listen, last night, I was so hungry and I ate two miniature bars. That was it!!!!! Out it went this morning!

Susan, how was your week?

Maureen, are you weighing in this time? Did you have a hard week staying OP?

Like Dee said, "Happy Weekend"

Tina

Tina 11-03-2001 12:43 AM

I can't believe that I'm up this late. :dizzy:

Susan, how is your friend doing? Are you taking her for treatments every week? How many more weeks does she have?

Dee, I wish you could stay off that foot this weekend.

Is it possible that Thanksgiving is just around the corner??? Where is this year going!!!!!

I'm going to do my best staying OP this weekend.

Tina

auntie 11-03-2001 12:32 PM

Sorry everyone :( I thought I had posted in the last day or so. Boy was I wrong!

We never have trick or treaters. I guess because of where we live. We never had any in the apartment either. I wish we did. I would definitely have to buy candy that I hated. .... which isn't very many! :)

Way to go Tina for throwing out those candy bars. If it is there I'll eat it. I've throw candy out the car window when I buy it and start gobbling it down. Don't worry!! It is never the wrappers, only the candy. I always think the birds will enjoy it more than me!!

The Diet Center cost about $40 a week, (I paid for 6 weeks at a time.) She told me that she runs a Christmas special that will be cheaper. I know that is more than WW but it is helping. So I'll keep paying it. I run by there at 7:30 in the morning on the way to work for just a few minutes. I do think going 3 times a week helps a lot. I've lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks. I know it will start slowing down now. I feel myself getting undercontrol.

Tammy and Dee, ouch!!! Bone spurs sound like they really hurt! Is surgery the only solution for them?

My friend goes to her 2 chemo treatment in 2 weeks. She got sick the day after her treatment. She is very tired. I called and talked to her husband to check to see if he needed me to do anything and to make sure that she is really ok. She has 3 more treatments (3 weeks apart). Then 6 1/2 weeks of radiation everyday.

I mentioned to my principal about needing to leave school some to take her. He said, just let me know and patted me on the shoulder. He is a wonderful man.

No plans for this weekend. We are just going to hang out. Cleaned the house this morning.

We are staying here for Thanksgiving. We'll have some friends that have no place to go come over.

I'm having a lump cut out of my arm, on the 19th. It will be day surgery. Don't worry, I've have it done before. It's due to the trama of falling off my bike several years ago. It's because nerve damage takes up to 6 years to heal. Not a big deal since I know what it is! first time I was worried.

Ok, since I wrote a novel, I'll sign off for now.

Have a GREAT DAY! Enjoy the weather.

Susan, as long as that post was I thought I was reading one of the Harry Potter books!!! LMAO Sorry. Had to be a stinker.

My doctor says no surgery for the bone spur. I really don't notice it too much as long as I'm wearing the Birkenstocks. The inserts that I bought at Wal-Mart were Dr. Sholls. I have 3 different sets of insoles and those are the ones that help the most. The others are worthless. The doctor had recommended Tulli heel cups. What a waste of money!

I think I'm going to order another pair of Birks on-line. They have a sale going on right now. Now that I know my size, I'm more comfortable ordering on-line or from a catalog instead of finding a store.

My brothers and their families always come here for the holidays. This is where we grew up, and when we bought the house after my parents passed away, that was kind of an unwritten agreement. Sometimes I wish we could go to someone else's house though.

Not sure when they are coming for Thanksgiving. They have the other side of the family to spend time with also. Bob's parents passed away about 4 years before mine, so it's just us. My aunt called and invited the 3 of us to their house Thanksgiving Day. Looking forward to that. My cousin will be home from Texas. Don't get to see her often enough.

I just made fun of the length of someone else's post, now look at how long mine is!!! Harry Potter, book 5?

Okay, I feel left out. I don't read Harry Potter :) would you believe the guy secretary does. :) I think he's a kid at heart.

I wish everyone was here. I have so much chicken tetrazzini left over from lunch. We'll have it for supper all this week.

Tina, I have read ALL of the Harry Potter books and I also plan to see the movie! It isn't just for kids! I love it!!!!!! My brother and my 2 sisters-in-law have also read them.

I'm also into the Left Behind series! We just bought the newest one, but I haven't started it yet. Had to finish another book that was totally weird. Can't stop in the middle, so I had to finish it. Now I've started The Painted House by John Grisham. I borrowed it from another teacher at school, so I need to read it before starting Desecration. Sure glad that I love to read!!

Can't decide which pair of Birks to order. What a dilemma! I know I want a black pair. I have brown and blue.

One of my good friends went on her Emmaus Walk this weekend. That's what I did last April. I went to the closing ceremony this afternoon. It's always an emotional time. Glad that I got to be there with her (and a few others that I knew!).

We ordered a pizza for lunch about 2;00 this afternoon. I figured there would be plenty left over for my lunch tomorrow. I guess if I like cardboard boxes I'm in luck. That's all that's left.

Not quite as long as the last post I made, but long enough.
