I'm usually the person who sits in the back of the meetings and doesn't talk, but I have to brag on myself today. I had two major a-ha moments this week that I had to share. First of all, two weeks ago there was a coupon in the paper for the new Nestle Treasures candy bars...5 points for half a bar of dark chocolate wonderfulness. I got the candy bar, allotted the points for half the bar, and stuck the other half in my snack jar. (I have a jar for Mom's snacks that has Luna bars, WW bars and candy, that sort of thing. The kids and DH know it's hands off!) Anyway, to make a long story short--I forgot about it!! It's the same color wrapper as the current box of Luna bars in my jar and I thought it was a Luna bar! A full week went by and I wanted to grab a Luna bar to take with me for kids' soccer games. I pulled out the candy bar!! Woo-hoo!!!!! Before WW I would have eaten the whole thing in one sitting and felt terribly guilty about it. Now not only do I allot the points for it, but I only eat half the bar at once.
Part two...inservice trainings. Part of my job is doing inservice trainings for teachers. Monday I did one for sixty teachers at once. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Week they brought in pink sugar cookies. Not only that, it was someone's birthday, so they also had birthday cake! I didn't have any of it! I truly, honestly, didn't want it. I'm a major chocoholic, and my first thought was, "why would I spend the extra points on something that's not chocolate?" After dieting on and off for most of my life, I feel like I've really made a major life change. And I wanted to share that with all of you.
