This topic is timely because I was just going through my closet last night trying on clothes that are a size smaller than I was wearing when I started to lose weight. I was actually rejoicing that I could wear clothes that have been in my closet for a long time - even ones that are new and still have the tags on. You know, one of those purchases made with the incentive to lose weight, but I never got around to losing weight.
However, I was also grieving because I like many of the clothes that I have outgrown. Not evough to gain the weight back, mind you, but clothes that I purchased because I liked them. As a temp. measure, I will take them to the tailer and have them altered and still enjoy for a while. I was just feeling a little saddened...
I do, however, have those over-sized t-shirts that I will still continue to wear in the garden and hope that they wear out, or get too dirty really fast. Others I wear to bed as night shirts.
All in all, I have difficulty getting rid of anything...must be my Scottish heritage.
