Well we're getting things ready for our second orientation and we have a bit of a lull in the action That makes me really happy. We're just waiting to get the student schedules from the registrar and then we can begin the final packet stuffing.
Susan: Love the new picture!!! I'm battling the night time eating as well and am really making an effort to cut back. I told my friend this morning that maybe I need to eat more throughout the day so I'm not "empty" at night and looking for something else to eat.
Lala: Loved the blogs! Ernest is too cute! It never fails that the angle of the camera is wrong and makes you look like you have extra chins. Don't worry about it--we know you don't! It's starting to rain here and the humidity is beginning to increase.
Pam: We missed the storms you got--they skirted right by us and moved up the coast. We did have some heavy rain on Monday morning but then it cleared up by 10 a.m. Did you have a nice dinner with your friends last evening?
Lisa: I was thinking about rotisserie chicken, salad, fruit...easy things to take. It sounds like fun and you don't have to mess with the bugs!
I went to the meeting today and was pleasantly surprised with the scale...I was down 1.4# and am extremely happy with that. I was talking with my LT buddies and they even suggested that maybe I'm not eating enough and that's why my weight isn't budging. It could be I'm not getting the right things so we'll see. I did eat a little more this weekend of things that I don't normally eat (Greek hotdog, fries). We'll see, I don't want to venture too much because I really want to get rid of 5# by the time I go on vacation in July (21).
Dinner last night was nice, Carrabba's was very good as usual. I chose the rigatoni martino which was rigatoni with mushrooms and sun dried tomato in a creamy tomato sauce with chicken. It was yummy and I ate most of it. On a positive not I only had one gin and tonic, no dessert and I didn't munch on bread before dinner.
Susan I love your new picture, very flattering. I was telling my DH last night that now that our kids are older we don't have as much to do and I should look into a part time job. I think I'll look for another hobby instead.
Domina maybe chicken and some type of cold pasta salad or a tomato and mozzerella salad. What a nice idea for an indoor picnic. I hope you have a nice time.
Melissa yeah on the loss. You'll lose the 5 by vacation time.
lala I enjoy reading your blog and Ernests. You are a talented writer/storyteller.
Hi to Julie!
Well ladies it's almost time to call it a day here. Don't know what we're having for dinner tonight. When there's no plan we usually end up grilling something. Hope you all have a nice evening.
I'm back at the hotel now. Its 9 pm. I left the software company at 6:30 and headed east to the outlet. I thought I would see bargains galore, but not one was found.
Even the sportsbras I buy from Hanes on line were more in the store. I almost walked away with a cute pair of prada loafers and decided that I had enough black loafers and at least one pair is prada. Hah.
I found the tj's in Redlands and picked up a salad, so that and a bottle of water is dinner. Lunch wasn't bad, sushi and a salad, but I did have lots of snacks today.
I will be happy to be home soon.
Susan - I love your new pic!
Okay, I'll check in tomorrow. I should journal my food consumption, do some crunches and lunges and think about getting ready for bed.
I am driving to Orange County tomorrow evening to see my parents before I leave, for some reason my father thinks I haven't seen him for the last six months. I saw him three months ago.
The concert was great--a real good variety of music. They even did the Sandpaper Ballet. I went to a deli and decided to buy Greek food. We had moussaka, stuffed grape leaves, pita and hummus. I also found some good cookies, lala!
Otherwise haven't been feeling great body-wise. I have a lower backache that I haven't felt in years. What's worse is I don't remember doing anything in particular to get the backache. I wore one of those Therma things today and it's helping.
This weekend we're headed to the West Coast of Florida to see my parents. I was supposed to see my brother who is visiting from Virginia, but he decided to leave today. So, tonight I'll be packing. Funny, lala, that we're both visiting the folks.
Melissa, congrats on the weight loss.
Pam, congrats on going to Carrabba's and not going hog wild (I always do especially with the bread).
I survived the storms in Ohio last night - they were wicked. We had our Tornado sirens go off about 1030 pm and were in the basement for awhile. I think the storm lasted from 9pm to about 4am - longest storm and strongest - it didn't let up. We have flooded roads and electric out in places. We were luckily - on the cable went out.
We have our annual Employee Appreciation Picnic today at the hospital. I think we have enough people watching their weight now – they are having Steak and Chicken. I also think they are fixing a weight watcher dessert recipe.
I am still having pains with my head/neck (making my migraines worse) I have to see a Neurosurgeon for it. Xrays and MRI reflects muscle spasms, disc bulge and something else I can’t remember.
Julie, sorry about the back pains and the pains from your weather. I had not heard about the storms. What part of Ohio do you live in? I'm originally from Youngstown, northeast corner. Have fun at the picnic today.
I'm just checking in before heading out today. I'm really tired and being in a hotel room is not improving my mood.
Julie, those storms sounded wicked. As for the picnic, it is nice to see more healthy choices being offered.
As for your neck and migraine, I'll send you some healing vibes from the west. I'm glad you are taking care of it.
Lisa - great choices for dinner - was it indoors or out? I'm heading west too - meeting my parents somewhere in the middle. I hope I can find something decent to eat.
How is everyone else on the second day of the summer?
Off to hit the showers and check out. I'll be staying at the airport tonight, I have a 6:30 am flight and a 11 am meeting tomorrow.
Oh, ernest climbed into a morris chair by himself. I can't say that I'm mad, just sad that he's getting big. DP put a obstacle in his way so he can't do it again.
Julie: I saw the radar last night and the storms that were south of us--they were pretty bad. We just got the rain and a few cracks of thunder. Hope you had fun at the picnic--it's always nice when you have healthy choices.
Lisa: It's funny how it doesn't take much to aggravate your back--I find that I do it at odd times and it's not like I'm doing anything in particular. Have a fun weekend with your parents!
Pam: Good job on not going overboard! A gin & tonic sounds refreshing right now!
Lala: Hope your flight was uneventful today. Last night I made some tomato basil soup and it turned out positively delicious! I used a WW recipe from the Turnaround cookbook as a base and then added my fresh basil. It made 8 servings and it was only 1 point! Yum! I brought leftovers for lunch today. I used my canned tomatoes from last summer so it was doubly good. It doesn't take long for pups to get bigger does it?
Well ladies, no major plans for the weekend as of yet--DH is working tomorrow morning and DS #1 left for a state bowling tournament this afternoon, mom is on her way to Chicago so that leaves DS #2 at home with me. DH has been bugging me about what I want for my b-day and I've decided on a mp3 player so I can download music that I can walk to and it'd be smaller than the cd player that I have. Nothing else major going on--I'm hoping to get some things done around the house. I had my bp checked at our health center on Thursday and it was pretty low (98/75) and the nurse checked it twice--she told me she wants to check it again next week. She said maybe it's down because they've gotten my thyroid under control. Who knows?!
On another note, my dad got his results from his doctor yesterday and he has a decrease in how his heart is pumping and there are 2 valves that are not working properly--the doctor has said that he is just on "maintenance" for the most part. HIs blood pressure was pretty low and they're concerned about that.
