Hi darlings,
Its Thursday already and I am looking back on the week and wondering, "week, where did you go exactly? You were so full of promise and hope on Monday morning and well, you sort of disappointed me" Oh well, I could sure use a day at home during the week to get stuff organized. Any vacation we take is usually jetting off somewhere, so I try and do everything at night or on weekends. I am questioning this now.

Sounds like everyone could use a break from the weather.

Made a really nice batch of veggie/chicken green chile enchiladas last night and got rid of a bunch of veggies. I inventoried the fridge this am and put the list on the door, so tonight its goat cheese mozz. stuffed chile rellenos and something delightful with fennel. What a combo eh?

I am going to weigh in on saturday morning. I don't know where I'll be or what mood i'll be in afterwards, but I am also questioning saturday wi. I have heard somewhere in the past that WW members that wi on monday tend to be more successful because they tend not to overindulge on the weekend before wi. Since I tend to do well during the week, I was wondering if this may work for me. Its not like I'm eating hoagies, 7 beers and a pizza every saturday night either, so i just don't know.

Anyways, enough droning.

I'm sure Patchis enjoying her fish tacos and new found goalness!, Laurelis counting the seconds until work is over on Friday (you had a hard week, huh?) and I concur Melissa:I'll take 72 and breezy over anything else! Sounds like you are still feeling under the weather. Get well soon!

Okay everybody, off to move files around. Don't I have a glamourous job?

You guys are just the best...

I'm almost at WW goal (.4 to go) but really want to get back to that "fighting" weight of 129.8 - you got it - just under my dream weight of 130. It's very hard for me to keep it there, for my body and mind really struggle against maintaining at the lower range. It's hard to believe it's been almost a full year since I was at goal. The weight just kept creeping up and I became more and more lax and resistant to keeping OP.

More than anything else I really believe it's the comraderie and support from you all that's recharged and refocused me. Thank you.

Lala - I tend to feel that the Monday weigh-in versus Saturday check in might give you more leverage. But even coming on Mondays could not stop me from putting the weight back on. That being said, now that I'm in the "swing of things" - it's helped to keep me a bit more vigilant on planning and tracking weekend points... something that at the WW meetings I've whined about for years.

Once again, thanks guys.

Just read something inspirational regarding rewarding yourself.

A gal on the success thread asked people to throw out ideas for rewarding oneself and this one I found kind of special...

From Asta...
I have a plain gold band that looks like a wedding band and I have added a diamond (very small $30.00) for every 30lbs lost. I currently have 2 diamonds and am 5 lbs from a third. I chose 30 lbs. per diamond, bacause my goal is to lose 150 and I think that the ring would look good with 5 diamonds. I chose a ring instead of a charm bracelet or something else, because I can wear the ring all of the time. I keep it on to exercise, shower etc. I wanted to wear it all the time as a constant reminder of how good I am doing. When I got to 75 off, I treated myself to a new bike and I will also do something special when I get to 100 off, so the rewards are coming often now. When I reach my goal weight, I will probably have my before and after weight engraved inside the ring.

What a great idea. It made me realize especially for us lifetime / maintainence gals that one really needs to keep rewarding oneself for perservering. I'd love to see WW do that for Lifers... I'd even be happy to pay for it. Maybe we could just do that for ourselves. I'm thinking I'd love a charm braelet with a gold charm for each year. hmmmmmm

Hello ladies!

I'm at home today - I work a four day week, so I usually have Fridays off. Seems like I spend it grocery shopping, running errands, etc! Whew! Today is the same - DH, DD & I are going away for the weekend with another couple to their cottage in central Wisconsin (a last-minute thing), so today will be spent scurrying around packing, buying food to take along, etc. It will be a bit of a challenge food-wise since I'm out of my element by not being at home, but I plan to plan wisely. I want to post a loss on the scale next week.

Patch - so you have a dream goal weight of being under 130 (129.8)? I am the same way - my dream goal would be to get under 140 - even 139.8 - just for a week if I could - it sounds so much less to me - let's see if we can both do it! I love the idea of the charm bracelet idea for lifetimers - maybe a suggestion to the WW people is in order??

lalala - I think the Monday weigh-in might be an option to try since most people seem to lose steam over the weekend. When I was on program the first time, my meeting was a noon meeting on Mondays - it did make me more accountable over the weekend.

Melissa - glad to hear you're feeling better. How is your broken toe feeling?

LM - I seem to experience the early am sleeplessness more on my days off - hmmmm - maybe the excitement of not going into work has me awake?

Have a great weekend, all

Happy Friday Everyone

Kt Marie: The toe is healing and it's still a little tender but for the most part it's pretty much healed (I think). I have been doing some walking although the heat has been keeping me in.

Patch: My goal has always been to maintain under 140...I'll take 139 but ultimately I'd love to be 137-138 and that's what I'm shooting for.

We're finally getting some much needed rain today. Woke up this morning to a thunderstorm. The ground is so dry that it's hard for it to soak up the water. Outlying areas by us received 4" of rain! We're making up for the less than half inch we received for the month of July. The heat is supposed to go away for the weekend and it should be more comfortable.

I've gotten a little bonus today in that the office is going to close for the afternoon so I get to start my weekend a little earlier than planned...woohoo! Anyway, I've been doing much better with keeping my journal and I've actually been able to stay within my point range. The challenge is the weekend and I'm hoping to retain my focus and stay on track. I get to leave early today due to an annual university event (the offices are closing at noon) so I'm hoping to get some things done at home.

I'll check in later from home. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi all-

I think summer has left us in Seattle. Its grey and lightly sprinkling. Its rather nice and quiet, which is pleasant for a Friday.

Melissa : Enjoy your afternoon off and keep safe in the heat.

kt: Man, you are so lucky. I would love to get away for the weekend! Good luck packing and don't forget that sunscreen.

Patch :I love the idea of the ring. I was hoping to treat myself at goal by resetting this diamond into a ring that I would like, but we'll see. I love charm bracelets, so maybe I'll upgrade my silver one to a gold one instead (places I've been in Europe, kitchy, but cute)

My goal weight desire is to be at goal- 119, but I'll take 10 lbs less, no problem. Yeah, right.

Thanks all of you for your words of advice. I'm going to weigh in on Monday in the am (that's when the meeting is) and hopefully keep on track towards that. I know that sunday night has the obstacle of a dinner out at a friend's house. She is not the most stellar cook and I know its a lamb dish (yech), but her husband pours a mean gin and tonic, so I'll just budget for that and drink tons of water.

Nothing much planned for the weekend. Our house definitely could use a 2 hour straighten and dog
bisquit decrumbing. I need to get out into the garden and deadhead, prune and stake. We have trumpet lillies drooping all over the place .

I'm meeting with the personal trainer at the gym for a 1/2 hour weight session tomorrow to get some advice for my pathetic arms, I can do the cardio all right, its getting the form on the weights that is hard.

Okay, take care ladies and I'll post that recipe in a separate thread.
