I'm new to the board so I'll give you a little rundown. My name is Sarah and I've been on WW since 1-12-06. I have been on numerous other diets (Jenny Craig, Curves, starvation) and have even been on the diet pill Meridia. I always lost weight but went back to my bad eating habits after a while. I love the point system that WW does. I can eat whatever I want, within reason, and not feel guilty about it. Right now I'm just having a problem getting my activity points in. TOM was yesterday and I don't know if that had something to do with it. DH bought me a treadmill for the winter months and I know he's disappointed that I've only used it a few times. I love doing aerobics but I hate the initial feeling I get when I start getting my heart going. I have knee problems too so that doesn't help any!
Anyway, my weigh in is tomorrow and although I didn't get any activity points in for the week, I did stay on program 100%!
Can't wait to get to know you all better. I'm here if you need someone to vent to or to just listen. You guys are all awesome!
Today is a GOOD day! I weighed in and LOST 5 POUNDS!
It's been a while since I've had a big loss like that so I'm MORE than thrilled. Even more exciting that I'm nearly down under 250. Technically, I'm at 250.6, which I think the tracker should round UP to 251...but I guess they are made to make you feel better!
saskbabe: You change the tracker by going under USER CP at the top of the screen, then EDIT SIGNITURE. You can then just change the last number on your tracker to your current weight.
SugarKube: Next time someone asks you about your diet when you are eating - Hold your head up HIGH and proceed to tell them ALL about WW and how wonderful it is that you can eat anything you want as long as you budget the points. Then go into detail about every point on the plate and how you know that and how it's all perfectly legal and tell them about flex points and activity points and by then one of two things will have happened... (1) They will realize how serious you are and that you really are doing well or (2) Their eyes will glaze over and they'll be sorry they ever asked you the question and vow never to do it again! Good for you for having thought through it all and for going back OP. Just remember, it's more important that YOU think you can do this than anything anyone else thinks!
Well ladies, I must go. Got just enough time to squeeze in a walk before my next appointment!
why do people try and sabotage us? People we love and who love us?? my heart breaks for you--my big problem is my dad--but we will onquer all those voices in our heads--one day at a time. I love the advice--eyes glaze over is priceless
I think everyone is doing great! Even with the sabatogers and other evils floating around!! Lilion gave some great advise! By the way, congratulations on the 5 lb loss this week Lilion!!!
saskbabe - I don't know how many forums you visit, but I set my favorites up under my User CP so that I don't have to look through all the forums to find them. Just click on the Forum Tools (upper right hand side of your screen) and select subscribe to this forum on any of the forums you want to mark. Then when you sign on each day you can just automatically go to User CP and select from your own personal list.
Wow! Looks like there is enough support out there to do a weekly thread. At the rate we are going, we might have to do twice a week thread! It is wonderful to see everyone jumping in. As promised, I will be responsible for starting a weekly thread for the group! This will help to keep me on track!
There are so many people to respond to, so here goes:
Lillion....you rock! Five pounds is awesome!!!!!! You are doing great!
Shelley....It sure sounds like your hands are full with a 14 month old and 22 month old! How do you get any sleep! You must be changing diapers everytime you turn around! LOL Welcome. And I have to ask...what is a SAHM?
Paula....med surg nursing...the hardest nursing around. You are a better woman than me. I did med surg for one summer and came home and told my husband that we did not need the money that bad! LOL I like fast turnover of patients..don't like looking at the same one for a whole day, so after my experience on med surg, I went to the ER and then the OR. Nice thing about OR patients is that they are asleep most of the time you are with them! Really, I am just kidding!
Raynette...you must have a heart the size of Texas! I admire anyone who takes care of kids!
Sugarkube....I have nothing more to add after Lillion gave you some great advice! Hold your head high and keep repeating...I can do this...I can do this.....don't let others throw you off your game plan. Because you can do this...you can do this!!!!!
Sarah...so are you a real fire girl? Love your avatar! Welcome. Yeah, my treadmill is more like a clothes holder than an exercise machine! That is when I can find it under all the clothes!
As for me.....a pretty good day. Went out to dinner tonight as we celebrate every Wednesday with a Fajita Wednesday. We meet friends for dinner at a Mexican restuarant and all the free chips can get me. But I was good all day, even by passing the carry in the department had and eating my frozen Lean cuisine. Even bypassed the cookies from the Cookie Cottage a sales rep brought in the afternoon. Not one taste passed my lips! I will celebrate that victory!
Well, off to bed. I am off tomorrow and have my house to clean and laundry to do. Have an great day and stay OP everyone.....
Thanks, and yes I have little time to myself ;-) A SAHM is a stay at home mom. Which actually should be a stay at home and work your butt off mom - lol!

You got that right, sister!! I have a 3-year-old, a 1-year-old (adorable dears that they are) PLUS I watch my 8-month-old nephew 10 hours a day (demanding but adorable dear that he is). And I work fulltime at home nights and mornings. But even before becoming a WAHM, being a SAHM was busy enough!!
Who ever thinks staying at home is easy either never tried it or never met my kids!
I gained one pound this week and was really disappointed. I am going to blame it on PMS and be glad I stuck to my program and exercised last week. I am healthier for it. --and of course I met all you nice folks. Did I mention that i made it through the advanced portion of my exercise tape? there were lots of good things last week and only one bad--one pound---I can't let that overshadow everything can I?( I hear collective "no" from you ladies)lol
Shelly...Thanks for clarifly what a SAHM means for me. Although I have never been a full time SAHM (I know what that means now, so I can use it), I hear you loud and clear about how tiring it must be. I have almost always worked part time so I have felt I had the best of both worlds. I usually worked eveining when the kids were young to cut down on sitter costs and then moved to working days when they got older. And of course working two days one week and three days the following week gave me time at home and time at work. And despite all the rotten things about being a nurse, you can not beat the flexability of looking for a job that fits your hours and needs at home. Of course, now if we could make housework a part time job, we would all be set!
Saskbabe...sorry about your one pound gain, but you need to put it into perspective. If you exercised and followed program, the losses will eventually catch up. That pound will disappear and many more if you continue to stay true to what you are trying to accomplish.
Well, since the housekeeper didn't show up today...just kidding....I better get busy. Sheets to change, stairs to sweep, floors to mop! I work tomorrow and then am off for the weekend. It is a balmy 55 degrees today with a brisk wind. I feel the need for some sand between my toes, so I am off for a walk on the beach.
Hey there everyone! You are all sounding like you're doing a fantastic job! I had quite the shocker this morning when I weighed in. Lost 2.2 pounds! I stuck to program almost 100% but I didn't exercise. Finally got to it last night and did 65 minutes of aerobics. Felt good too. Tonight I have to bake muffins for work. We have to bring treats in on our birthday and since mine is on Saturday I have to bring them in tomorrow. Don't know if I'll get to exercise today but I will try.
As for being a real fire gal, yes I am. Been doing it for 15 years and that's where I met my DH. We're both also EMT's and since we get more med calls than fire calls, I'm more of an EMT than a Firefighter. My love is the fire part though.
Thanks geechee, everyone is doing great, remember muscle weighs more than fat so sometimes we may gain but lose inches somewhere on our body!!!!!, my feet always get smaller first lol. keep up the good work everyone.
raynette
Good evening everyone,
I am leaving for the gym in a few min but I wanted to check in. Weigh in was today....I lost 3 pounds! One more pound and I will hit the 25# mark! I think going to the gym and actually moving some should help. Have a good evening. Paula
you should be so proud of your losses! you guys are a great inspiration. I am still plugging away and am not going to let my 1 lb gain freak me out. I should be calm as a cucumber 'cause gaining weight is something I've done before and am really good at.It's the losing that scares me silly! lol
I joined WW back in late April 2005, I have successfully lost close to 90# before Christmas, gained over six during the Holiday season, now working to get to 100 by April of 2006.
I am 41, married to a wonderful man for over 17 years. We were not blessed with children, but we have a very spoiled puppy. I started my weight loss journey having to loose 186# in total. I am thrilled to have come this far, but I still have a LONG LONG way to go. As of late I seem to have lost my enthusiasim.
I Participated in another group that kind of faded away..... This looks like a lively group, and I sure could use some inspiration to keep me going strong.
It looks like you guys are just what I need.
Went out to eat at Old Country Buffet last nite with a group of ladies.
Did ok point wise. But went out to breakfast and missed my meeting. Don't think I did good at all today. Didn't exercise or get my water in.
Will start again in the morning.
