Hey don't feel so bad - it is a tough time of year for everyone who is trying to lose weight
Don't fret over it but don't give up either.
I find that you have to balance having an occasional treat and not overdoing it or you end up overeating, eating the wrong things and then getting upset with yourself and throwing the towel in.
Just take your next meal as a fresh start and get back to healthy eating.
Things I do at this time of year to try to maintain my weight:
-Have one glass of wine at a party or event and then switch to diet softdrinks for the rest of the night
-save up my chocolate for Christmas day but keep it out of sight until then. That way I know it is there, I can have it whenever I want but I am choosing when to eat it. It makes me have control over the chocolate and control over myself.
- I keep all the Christmas treats, cookies etc hidden in a cupboard until company comes over - out of sight, out of mind
- I put more veggies on my plate at dinners or parties so I don't load up on the stuffing, potatoes, creamy salads etc.
- I don't eat junk all month - I save my treats (in moderation) for Christmas Eve and Christmas day when I know I will want to eat, drink and be merry but I don't give myself licence to
out on everything, just on one or two things that are my favorites. I figure if I eat healthy all month then it will balance out those 2 days.
