Arrow Weekly weigh in thread for December

Good morning everyone!

A member recently asked about a weigh in thread so I thought I would start one up.

It will be up from Monday through to the following Monday so you can post no matter what day your weigh in is.

Hello!

I had a good weigh-in last saturday I was down 5.4! But last night....I ate a
whole tin of peppermint bark! sigh, I was so sleeply after eating it I went to
bed and overslept so I didn't do my morning workout. This is such a tough time to stay on program. I'm trying just to stay the same so I'm working out
4-5 days a week and I have my emergency smart ones in the freezer at work and home so far so good.

I just started back on monday and I was 182.8. I can tell you I've been giving into temptation the past 2 days. I just wanna cry until the holidays are over. Sorry I'm such a downer.

Hey don't feel so bad - it is a tough time of year for everyone who is trying to lose weight Don't fret over it but don't give up either.

I find that you have to balance having an occasional treat and not overdoing it or you end up overeating, eating the wrong things and then getting upset with yourself and throwing the towel in.

Just take your next meal as a fresh start and get back to healthy eating.

Things I do at this time of year to try to maintain my weight:

-Have one glass of wine at a party or event and then switch to diet softdrinks for the rest of the night

-save up my chocolate for Christmas day but keep it out of sight until then. That way I know it is there, I can have it whenever I want but I am choosing when to eat it. It makes me have control over the chocolate and control over myself.

- I keep all the Christmas treats, cookies etc hidden in a cupboard until company comes over - out of sight, out of mind

- I put more veggies on my plate at dinners or parties so I don't load up on the stuffing, potatoes, creamy salads etc.

- I don't eat junk all month - I save my treats (in moderation) for Christmas Eve and Christmas day when I know I will want to eat, drink and be merry but I don't give myself licence to out on everything, just on one or two things that are my favorites. I figure if I eat healthy all month then it will balance out those 2 days.

That is exactly my problem. I dont know what moderation is. I'm like an alcoholic almost I can't even have a taste or I'm hooked again.

Thanks for the encouragement and hints. I was thinking of throwing in the towel and just started after Christmas is over. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

I had a huge scale victory. After being 207 for the longest time, I weighed in at 201.6 this weekend! I may see 199 BEFORE I go on vacation -- here's to hoping I lose more while on it!!!
