Hello everyone -- Gini, Comteacher, Points, Runner, Lighter, LilyG & Busdriver!! Sorry I have not responded sooner -- I seem to be running every which way lately.
I am still a "newbie" where WW Online is concerned so if I give the wrong info, please correct me! Like Gini, I have been doing WW Online for only two weeks but so far I love it.
With WW Online you can:
1) Journal your daily points and keep track of everything -- food, water, exercise, etc -- day by day, month by month. You can even record daily notes in a special section. They offer an online food data base (similiar to Diet Watch but dealing with points) and an online points calculator. It's everything you would get with the e-tools package including charts , graphs, etc. You also have access to a recipe data base and can plan and record all your meals as well.
2) In addition, you receive a personal home page with useful tips and such. Of course, they have their own message boards which you can access without being a WW member. I have to admit, it's a great source of info 24/7.
3) According to a recent email I received from WW Customer Service, the restaurant info is incorporated into the points data base. However, I am still not positive this contains all the info in the "Dining Out" companion booklets you would receive at a meeting. I am not positive they understood my question.
4) Customer Service also said you can print a listing of the data base to take with you -- I have not had the time to check that out yet as I just opened my email.
WW Online is just another feature to the Weight Watcher family geared towards people who do not like to attend meetings (as myself) or who cannot attend meetings for whatever reason. It's less expensive than the weekly meetings but you do not have the face-to-face communication from a qualified leader. Some WW leaders are superb, some are not --- some people need that interaction, some do better without it. It's really what works for you and what you are most comfortable with.
I am trying it for the three months -- I believe the price is $59.95 (they ran a special $10 savings offer if you signed up before June 30th), and is something like $14.95 a month thereafter. As Gini said, they automatically sign you up for each month unless you notify them otherwise. There is no contract to sign, and you can cancel at anytime.
I would suggest going to Weightwatchers.com and browse through the message boards -- you'll get a lot more info than what I have presented here. They also offer a "tour" which I though was a bit confusing as it really doesn't state that with WW online you get everything that e-tools offers -- I had to call the 1-800 # to find answers!
Comteacher and anyone else --- come on over to "10 Pounds At A Time" and join our support group --- just jump right in! So far I have lost 35 lbs --- 30 since using online support -- and even though I have a bunch more to lose, I would never have gotten this far without 3 fat chicks and weight watchers.
I hope I have answered everything --- good luck and if you sign-up let me know how you are doing --- I also post on the "Recovering Lifetimers" thread over at WW but you don't have to be a lifetime member to do so --- again, jump right in!
Take care!!! Terry
