Default Need lots of encouragement PLEASE

Hi everyone,

I have been on here a few times over the YEARS but spent most of last year in the Atkins group. I am trying to start WW again and try as I might I just blow it everyday. I came here for your words of encouragement.

The really funny thing is is that I used to have such a hard time keeping at my 24 points a day because I just LOVED my wine....LOL...but now I stopped having any during the week so points are not a problem...SO WHY DO I STILL KEEP BLOWING IT!

I have so many projects etc that I am not getting out to walk at all. Even my husband said something to me about that...I just go down into my sewing room and have barely seen the light of day this summer!

I know what I need to do as far as exercise but this plan has always been difficult for me. I don't lose a lot ....never have on it...but it is the easiest and healthiest plan I think. I would do the low carb again but I would really like to try this and see if I can do it yet again with "normal" eating.

I am not a veggie eater (except for my salads)...I hate no fat foods....LOVE SNACKS!

So.......can this poor person be saved?

Jane

Welcome Jane!

And I am sure you can be save The one thing you will have to do is "unlearn" your previous program and teach yourself to lose the WW weight loss tools to eat balanced meals from with foods from all the food groups.

I have slow weight loss results too but I have decided that what I really need (since I eat very well) is more exercise. You may want to look into finding something that interests you and is a good fit for your lifestyle.

Thanks everyone.....

I would love to just take it slow and walk more....but I so want to lose it faster. I know, I know...that isn't always the best.

I actually did great on Atkins. I was never hungry. If it wasn't so out of Vogue I would do it again. Maybe I could modify it in some way......

Not sure I could do the Core program.

Thanks again.

I follow a kind of modified program with WW. I find I still have to restrict my carbs somewhat in order to lose properly

Unfortunately, in order for WW to work properly we have to be willing to change our lifestyles and habits. We can't continue to follow old habits of eating whatever we want and getting no exercise and expect to lose weight
It just doesn't work.
I am one who although beleives that every plan has it's merits and downfalls I still believe that overall WW is the best for relearning how to eat and not let our eating habits control us.

Jane - I was also on Atkins a while ago - and am now on Core which I highly recommend. Core is very much like atkins in that you limit or avoid the bad carbs such as sugar, white flour, etc. You are encouraged to eat whole grains, fruit, veggies and protein - all of which are basically low glycemic index foods and therefore keep your blood sugar stable and help to avoid hunger!

If you have already done Atkins you will find this a great plan!

Good luck!

Jane- Before WW Core came out I modified my WW eating plan to be lower/better carb - it can be done

Check out the Core program and see what you think. WW does want you to have 5 servings of fruits/vegetables each day so you will have to implement that into your lifestyle. I suggest you start with what veggies you do like to get started and get in the habit of eating them. Then you can start experimenting - sometimes I have been pleasantly surprised and found something new I that I really enjoyed.

dont' know if this will help or not, but i've found buying the ww flexpoints calculator, such a huge help, if it go's in my mouth i put it in the calculator, it not only finds the point values but also keeps track of points. another big incentive was the price (24.95 on sale) if i pay that much darn skippy i'm gonna use it !!! lol
